  2. Thank you, Laura. Who knew the SEC football babies were so tired at the end of playing a gauntlet like the world has never witnessed? Of course they need a postseason nap. It's so very, very hard down in Dixie that the coaches should be forgiven for forgetting how to coach. And the travel in the SEC? Brutal! Bama sacked the unworthy Heisman winner twice in the Hoosiers' first Rose Bowl possession, and it's not like Bama left the Rose Bowl without putting up points on the board. Get real with yourself! The 3-to-38-point loss could have gone the other way! The ball bounced in the other team's favor, and the refs were out to screw over the Tide and the SEC. SI‘We Don’t Cry a River’: Curt Cignetti Takes Aim at SEC St...As the Big Ten celebrates three straight national titles, the Indiana coach argues the conference lets its results speak louder than the SEC’s explanations. Seriously? Perhaps, Laura, you should check in with an SEC network guy by the name of Paul Finebaum, who has the Big Ten as CFB's best conference and advises SEC, ESPN, and SEC coaches to Zip It! 😍
  3. And a cushy, welcome-mat schedule for Coach Campbell and his QB Rocco Becht, who comes to PSU with the most starts in CFB. No B1G triumvirate (Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon) on the schedule; USC visits Happy Valley. On paper, two tough games at UW and Michigan. 10-2 is more than doable.
  4. Today
  5. In all these preseason predictions on B1G standings. One team people are not considering, Penn State. A better coach, 17+? experienced players from Iowa State added to the returning starters ... and a damn easy B1G schedule. They could go undefeated in the B1G and play in the B1GCG ... it will not be the first time I have been accused of being crazy. 😂
  6. It's a B1G pond. Somewhere at some time, in 2026-27, Oregon is probably going to play the Hoosiers. How about in Vegas instead of Atlanta? 😁 With a 12-team playoff field, the performance of every B1G team matters. In 2025, the SEC did not deserve five teams in the PO field. The SP+ and FPI strength-of-schedule rankings are home cooking at its best, or at its worst from a B1G perspective. FPI ranks Ohio State's brutal schedule No. 8, behind seven SEC teams and ahead of No. 9 Texas A&M and SEC teams through 15 Alabama, with Michigan's schedule interrupting the Dixie love fest at 16. 13 SEC teams, 81.25% of the conference, are in the top 15. This is an SOS for the rest of CFB. College football fans and journalists are catching on. Outside of Dixie and Bristol, Connecticut, this is LOL 'stuff' from coast to coast. The SP+ rankings are also SEC-centric; Georgia, at 25, has the lowest-ranked SOS. But I doubt the Grapevine Gurus are laughing, and that's the problem and why Tony P wants a 24-team field and nothing less. Bring on the B1G stuff; Oregon does not play ball in a vacuum, and no one is forced to read anything on the Forum that they do not want to read.
  7. Just think of the coach at UCLA coming from the same school as Cig did. No pressure/spotlight there. Yes what he did upset the coaching world in the future and not in a good way.
  8. Good call. As Cig said, Indiana coming from the bottom of the pile to the top "would make a helluva movie." But Hoo would have believed it? It would be Hickory High Hoosiers on steroids. Another thing Cig changed: the calculus for how long a coach has to turn around a down-in-the-dumps program. Ryan Silverfield has two seasons to get the Arkansas Hogs back to the trough, if that. Best to the Hoosiers in 2026. Indiana is no longer considered a one-hit wonder and will likely be ranked in the AP preseason poll top 5 and not in the 20s like the 2025 preseason poll. Off to a good start with Cig winning the B1G Media Days pressers. 9. Interesting point. I might have to go back and read the long post again. I think the main point was they were not the 24 years old, the average that ESPN was talking about and then was adopted by everyone else. 12/22 starters return and a few of them were sophomores last year. The other 10 were 5th year players, which would be 22 years old for a college student. Some were even spouting off that IU had 26 year olds playing.
  10. So they avg 22 yo. So on average, they were already graduated with degree in hand? Seems like the narrative was pretty accurate to me. What am I missing.
  11. I know this is a forum about Oregon Ducks, so I apologize in advance for posting Indiana info. Yet I found last winter after joining, B1G or even Indiana info was enjoyed by some. I saw this a few minutes ago on X and it was just too good not to share. MAYBE a few Duck or college football fans will enjoy it but I will say IT A IS LONG READ. IU was OLD
  12. I like that Indiana in most predictions are going undercover. I will say this in all seriousness ... this team could be better than last years. I know I know, but hear me out. They return 3 OL's 2 LBs, 2WRs and their leading RB from last year BEFORE he went out with a season ending knee injury. The changes ... RBs and WRs now have "breakaway" speed where they did not last year. More depth due to young (yes really, actual recruits) players getting playing time last year, with some eventually starting due to injuries. Their season will be determined IMO ... OSU at home, USC at home, Michigan on the Road and even the game in Seattle. A tidbit .. their new QB Josh Hoover was actually signed recruit at IU when Cig was hired. After a week or two decided to get a release and go home to play for TCU. Threw for a lot of yards and a lot of TDs ... although in the spring game he did not look that good because IU's defense was playing as if it was the championship game even with new players ... we all know some QBs have problems with Bryant Haines defensive schemes.
  13. Honestly there will never be "the next Indiana". Sure, teams can build in today's NIL world within 1-3 years after losing for years and win the natty but I doubt anyone can do that if they have the same 100 year history of Indiana. IU was the losingest program in the history of college football until Cig won at Northwestern. That win moved them up to the 2nd losingest team in the history of college football. That 110 years of losing most of the time is what makes it different and why there will never been another "the next Indiana". Just my opinion.
  14. Oregon Ducks Give First Look at Workouts on New Practice FieldsThe Oregon Ducks' new practice facility is still under construction, but the team is working out on the new outdoor practice fields. EUGENE - The Oregon Ducks' new practice facility at the Hatfield Dowlin Center is still under construction, but the team is working out on the new outdoor fields. Saturdays are about to get more fun, as football season approaching quickly. The Ducks are pushing the limits on a new 170,000 sq. ft. indoor athletics training facility. While coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon football team wait to move into the massive, unique building - the team is beginning to work out on the relocated two new practice fields, per a video from Oregon Football. First Look at Oregon Football Workouts on New Practice FieldsNotably in the video, the steel framework of the new indoor facility dominates the background. It's pretty inspiring to see the future home of Oregon football rise behind the team as they are doing a conditioning session. The team is not in helmets or pads in the video. The new turf is marked and usable, while the surrounding remain under construction. There are several players who appear to be wearing GPS performance-monitoring vests, which typically tracks speed and workload to help avoid injuries and optimize training. 15. 5 for 5? This will advantage teams that are proven to develope guys into NFL draft picks at a high level. Lanning and his staff are near the top of this list. I'd say top 3. Very few teams are capable of managing a roster at the level Lanning has proven over the past few years. Dan has aced all three levels. HS recruitment, TP and retaining those currently on the roster. The gap between the haves and have-nots will get wider. It ages cfb another year (kinda) allowing more time for the cream to seperate. Does this open the door for a reshift of cfb again? Seems so but who knows?

  17. I have returned to the forum out here in Indiana. I see my last post was back in February. Why some may ask ... well this is the best forum I have found since following my first one in 1995. CIVIL discussion can take place even if you are the opponent. Plus I love talking football. Well this new ruling ... what a mess. It will get sorted out most likely for 2027 season but what about now? The rosters are set at 105, NIL money paid or on contract, freshmen on campus ... I always said never mix politics and sports. Too bad the overpriced NCAA admin couldn't run their own organization.

Oregon's Brandon Finney Jr. among nation's top returning cornerbacksBrandon Finney Jr. arrived in Eugene last year as a talented true freshman, but from the outside looking in, there were no expectations that he would become the team's top shutdown corner immediately. Yet, here we are. Moving into his second season with the Ducks, Finney is ranked as the No. 3 returning corner in the nation, according to Pro Football Focus. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/08/01/oregon-football-brandon-finney-top-returning-cornerbacks/91135604007/
