  4. 2024 NFL Draft: Top 32 prospects overall based on their college football careers - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM These players shined on the college gridiron prior to going through the NFL Draft process Nice photo of our good buddy, right? What's the Over/Under on Penix preceding Bo in the draft?
  5. I've seen Bo projected as the 12th pick overall dropping to the 3rd round. Ditto for J-P-J. It only takes one team to fall in love with you and Bo would be a great fit for the O Sen Payton runs in Denver. How did Michigan win the Natty? Michigan is projected to have the most drafted players in the draft, eclipsing Georgia's record 19 picks. Meanwhile, The Men's Gossip Page is always out of control before the NFL draft. No one does it better pub-wise than the NFL. I know how CJ Stroud played last season. Passed over for the No. 1 pick, he was the rookie of the year quarterbacking the Texans. But beyond that? How many of us know, or care, about the performance of 2023's top draft picks? Yet millions of folks will tune in to watch the draft. Thanks, Alex, and all the best to Bo et al.

  8. Perhaps a year? No more than 2 years and the schedule for the next 2 years are brutal.
  9. Spring Football Games: Thoughts on Texas, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame and More It was a huge day for spring football games with Arch Manning stealing the day at Texas. That, and quick thoughts on 17 of the biggest Saturday scrimmages. https://collegefootballnews.com/news/spring-football-games-quick-thoughts-on-texas-michigan-usc-oklahoma-notre-dame-fsu-arch-manning
  10. College football spring game standouts, takeaways: USC offense sputters, Notre Dame QB CJ Carr impresses - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Quarterbacks took center stage as USC's looked lackuster, while Arch Manning stole the show Interesting that the last 2 spring games commented on, Notre Dame and Texas A+M open the 2024 season with the Domers visiting the Aggies. I think that with Jimbo out of the way A+M HC Mike Elko will do a far better job of having good players on a deep Blue Chip roster ready to play. Elko was the DC at A+M before taking the head coaching job at Duke. Notre Dame is considered to be a serious playoff contender and with the schedule, Domers fans will be disappointed if a team without having to play a 13th champ game, and with Louisville and FSU visiting South Bend, does not make the 12-team field. The final game of the season for ND, on the road vs. USC, could be critical for both teams' chances of making the playoffs.
  11. Good luck to the Sooners in the maiden season in the SEC. Oklahoma would sooner have Texas far easier in-conference schedule. Oklahoma will be quarterbacked by RS Frosh Arnold, In the bowl loss to Arizona, Arnold threw for 361 yards but also threw 3 picks. All of the PL starters from 2023 are gone. OOC - B12 Houston and playoff contender AAC Tulane. Home - Tennessee, Alabama Away - Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, and LSU. Whew! Neutral - Texas I think that Oklahoma, ranked mostly in the 12 to 15 range in the preseason is because of the schedule in part, overrated. The SEC did Oklahoma, which plays an OOC game in 2025 vs. Michigan, no favors by simply flipping the home and away games in 2025 and playing the same SEC teams that were played in 2024.
  12. ESPN+ latest ranking of the top 40 players in the portal has six players listed who could fulfill Mr. FishDuck's need for a big DT/DL transfer. No. 4 - DT Damonic Williams - TCU - 6-2/330/JR. - Williams was a 4* recruit out of California and is scheduled to visit Oregon. No. 8 - DL Jay Tola - UCLA - 6-3/325/ SR with two seasons of eligibility. 25 starts for the Bruins. No. 23 - DL Phillip Brooks - Indiana - 6-3/295/SR. 2023 - 11 games, 30 tackles, 7th on team. No. 25 - DL CJ West - Kent State - 3rd team All-MAC. 2023 - 40 tackles, 2 sacks, forced fumble. High 3* recruit. No. 30 - DL Simeon Barrow, Jr. - Michigan State - 6-3/290/SR. - Not Charles hoped for transfer from Michigan State. 2021 - 2023, 30 starts with 30 tackles and 3 sacks in each season. No. 33 - DT - Jermayne Lola - Louisville - 6-3/310/SR. Transferred from ASU to the Cardinals - 2023 - 19 tackles, 5 TFL. Dan Lanning and friends I am certain are tuned into these players and others not on ESPN's list. Williams out of California would be the prize signee.
  13. 5 thoughts on B1G member and 2024 opponent Michigan's spring game. How far away is Michigan on offense? 5 takeaways from Wolverines' spring game THEATHLETIC.COM On a day when Michigan's 2023 team received national championship rings, the 2024 team showed there could still be bumps to come.
  14. Miller Moss struggles to stand out against revamped defense in USC spring game SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Nothing goes smoothly for quarterback Miller Moss in USC's spring game, but Lincoln Riley didn't see his offense struggling as much as his defense excelling.
  15. Michigan quarterbacks pushing each other in competition: 'Selfless pursuit of excellence' SPORTS.YAHOO.COM "We’re each other’s biggest hype men," said junior QB Alex Orji. "The thing about this QB battle is we all thrive off competition."
  16. Mike West, Spot On comment. But how can the reins be pulled in with Congress not interested in helping out and the NCAA is neutered by state and federal court court court decisions? A player's union negotiating with "management" and agreeing to a restraint on transfers will likely be upheld if union members can be figured out and 'management' is identified. I do not see this happening without players being deemed to be employees. NFL roster management is a piece of cake compared to CFB because of negotiations between management, the owners, and the pros who make up the union.

  20. The B1G's Saturday Tradition site agrees that Oregon could use a Safety. B1G transfer portal breakdown: 1 need for every B1G team in the spring transfer window SATURDAYTRADITION.COM The spring transfer window is officially open, and every Big Ten program is expected to be active in acquiring talent.
  21. With a 12-team playoff, a team playing for the title, even with a 1st-round bye, will likely be playing its 16th or 17th game of the season if it reaches the champ game on 1/20/25 in Atlanta. A deep roster with quality players backing up quality players and seeing playing time is essential for any team that wants to win a Natty. CFB is entering new territory regarding the number of games its champion and runner-up will have to play.

  23. Laughing Out Loud again over another far-out Zach Neel take. 4 SEC teams, 2 ACC, B1G, and B12, an independent and a G5 school that for the second year running does not play a Power opponent. The B1G will place 3 and possibly 4 teams in the playoff field. Based on the preseason rankings I don't see the B12 in particular with the SOS as a conference placing 2 teams in the field. Georgia and Ole Miss play one another. I don't see Ole Miss with fewer than 3 losses, including a loss at LSU. Texas? I'm not certain why Texas is getting all of the preseason love. 3 WRs who will be drafted in the 1st 2 rounds and 2 excellent RBs are gone as well as the interior of the Texas D line. Ewers is back at QB but the close wins in the B12 in 2023 will be losses in the SEC in 2024. Bama will still have a deep blue Blue Chip Roster but Saint Nick is no longer driving the sleigh. Bama plays UGA which I think will be a loss even in Tuscaloosa. I think Mizzou is overrated but a home game against Mizzou will not be a lay-up. And road games vs. Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, and, don't laugh, Wisconsin will be challenging. Based on the 2024 SOS and notwithstanding a road game in Tuscaloosa, Mizzuo has a 10-2 schedule that could get it in the playoff. I think that Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, and USC will finish 10-2 or better, and Michigan playing Texas, USC, and Oregon in Ann Arbor also has a shot at 10-2 as does Iowa. The Hawkeyes will lose the game in Columbus but draw UW in Iowa City, play at UCLA, and miss Oregon, USC, Michigan, and Penn State. Iowa is on the road for 5 conference games but has 7 home games in all. In fairness to Zach, his stab in the Playoff's dark is as good as anyone's, including mine.
