No. 4 Oregon Ducks were trying to score on final play against Washington
NJDUCK. My mom made a lot of money working in classifieds at the Oregonian. She would be jealous of your post! Just ribbing you! 😉

Why am I pleased with the effort vs. UW but...
ESPN and other articles had similar headlines. The Ducks overcome early miscues....blah, blah, blah. One early interception and the final score has been blown way out of proportion. I blame the CFP for that line of thinking. I'm glad the CFP committee works to actually watch the games, instead of only viewing final scores and ESPN headlines. Look at all the UW possessions. A LOT of three and outs. The Ducks were in control. Then after the break, they applied adjustments and UW couldn't stop Dye. Then the UW center, probably concerned about a big test on Monday, showed his academic prowess by deciding to put the ball and the game out of reach once and for all!

The Forsyth Penalty That Wasn't There
The Ducks are being investigated by The University of Washington for getting physical.

The Forsyth Penalty That Wasn't There
Well, what that video doesn't show is Forsythe jumping on the defender and tickling him while demanding he say "Uncle", so there's that!!!

Jimmy Lake Being Investigated by Washington for Getting Physical?
I'm NOT a coach Lake fan. But I would bet a great deal he would never do that to a player that was not in football armor. I thought it was ironic that Lake was losing his cool while the announcers were telling tales of Lake forcing the team to watch video of past emotional outbursts...so poetic.

Note to self: Don't hand Mario a "prop" pistol after a game with the Huskies!

Would You Punt for a Million Dollars?
This question crossed my mind. I'm not sure exactly how much each P12 school receives per CFP game, but one site stated $9 million for the P12 conference. At any rate, the revenue sharing has brought up some interesting topics in the past. Such as a missed game winning field goal costing millions in lost bowl revenue. So, if your team is out of contention and backed into a hole on fourth down very late in the game behind by 8 points, would you punt if it gave your school a chance at a million dollars by allowing the only school with a chance at making it to the CFP another win? I'm not saying Lake did it for that reason, but there is a built in conflict of interest due to revenue sharing. That's a lot of money!!

Oregon Football: Ducks Survive Dawgs, Monsoon of Early Miscues
I agree with all of the above, CJ. Troy Dye played a LOT of downs completely gassed and injured. Travis "no gloves" Dye is just like him. Cast from the same Dye! Give him the rock and don't let him rest, ha. And I thought the exact same things about RG III. THANKS for the post!

Oregon Football: Ducks Survive Dawgs, Monsoon of Early Miscues
The early miscues were the ugly interception and, in my mind, the poor decision to not have a returner back to catch the punt which culminated into the questionable safety. Nine points that were stuck on the scoreboard for a long time, were surmountable. I loved seeing AB go after it and prevent the TD after the bad pass. I love his guts! He's a warrior. I can see why his teammates love him. He's willing to chance getting injured. He's had two major knee injuries but he still risks another for the sake of the team. That's courageous! I'm starting to feel like there are stats that don't account for the intangibles (I KNOW that's basically the definition of intangible, LOL.). But it seems he almost always comes up with some play that cancels out his miscues. And so does the team overall. As I look back, I didn't have that bad feeling I've had as a Duck fan watching those miscues. I felt uncomfortably confident, they would right the ship.

Jimmy Lake Being Investigated by Washington for Getting Physical?
Man do I feel old. The player is being stupid. The coach barely glances the face mask -- the face mask, not his face. More coaches should get after player's for unacceptable behavior, such as Pittman's in 2 games now.

Husky GameDay Thread: The Men of Washington are NOT Championship Grade
Lake: "Let's see...we only have 3 options. 1. Go for it, convert, and with the refs help get into overtime and win. 2. Fail to convert and give my nemesis a chance to score again. 3. Punt the ball, flip the field, and with the refs help get into overtime and win." Center: "I have an idea 💡 coach! See ya!"

Utah
Stanford was deplorable. Horrible "tackling ". In quotes because they literally looked like they were throwing the game to me because they seemed late to the ball and weren't wrapping up. I was expecting a lot more from them. The scores in their previous games were respectable. Anyway, Whittingham's teams over the years seem to be very inconsistent. When they bring their A game, they can defeat anyone. Then they don't show up the next week. I think they'll be very tough at home. One of the more bizarre games the Ducks ever played was in SLC in 2014. The Ducks, 9-1 were rated 4th and the Utes, 6-3 were rated 17th. This is the game where Brown was injured so badly, his life was in danger. And there was the bizarre non-TD by Utah because the WR dropped the ball short of the goal line and Oregon ran it back for a 100 yard fumble recovery TD. I'm hoping Oregon is still rated 4th and Utah is rated 17th and the Ducks take care of business and there are no injuries.

PLAYOFF EXPANSION? NO AGREEMENT TO DATE
I get the feeling the same people responsible for deciding whether or not to eliminate the CFP invitational are also responsible for deciding whether or not to eliminate the time change.
