Is THIS Where We Should Be?
This would be a good formula for a championship caliber team. Not sure we are there yet, but hope we get there next year!

Sometimes the Officiating Helps Oregon
Do we really care if Beaver players are punished after the game? I wish them well.

Pac-12 ADs Surprise Head Coaches
Should the AD be more concerned with keeping early signees than a signed player’s feelings about a coaching change? Certainly risks to both, but players know that coaches can leave for any reason after signing.

Sometimes the Officiating Helps Oregon
It appeared to me that McKinley had eyes on the ball and expected an interception until he noticed the receiver coming, then he went into a defensive posture resulting in a bad collision. The receiver played the ball the entire time, as trained. Neither player avoided the collision. The refs made the right call if they saw two players collide while attempting a catch.

Pac-12 ADs Surprise Head Coaches
Players seem to like Herm. Letting him go before early signing in December risks jumps to the portal and recruiting flips. Not the right time to make the change. And is it better for ASU to let Herm stand in front of the NCAA firing squad when they announce penalties for recruiting mistakes? Herm may be more forgivable in person.

What? WHAT was the Difference with Anthony Brown?
Playing with confidence is the key. The Utah game week was a confidence killer from Sunday through Wednesday starting with a disgruntled former team leader, ending with a season ending injury to another team leader. Sandwiched between was the news of a season ending injury to another team leader. I wonder if there was also an undisclosed injury to Brown’s throwing elbow the weeks leading up to the Utah game? His throwing motion seemed short and tight at Utah. His motion looked longer and looser against the Beavs. Injuries can be a confidence killer.

Some Game Stat Tidbits-the Freshmen!
Charles, did they recycle paper and you copied the back, with last week’s numbers?

Rivalry Game Score Contest Winner...Whew!
Congrats to you too 30Duck! My granddaughter picked the margin of victory from a choice of a number from 7 to 10. She was close! From there, I lazily selected numbers based on my lucky number 3. Hoping for a third straight Pac12 championship on Friday!

Update on Sewell and Wright
Shoulder injuries are rarely minor, and always painful. I wish the players well, but hope backups are ready.

See You at the Game!
Will be there! Can’t wait for the game plan reveal on Friday. Hope Utah doesn’t have the better plan this time!

What the Rivalry Win Means to Mario and His Family
Good man.

Calling All Optimists
Wife got a good offer from Mandalay Bay. Walking distance to the game. Two free nights hotel, $400 free slot play, $400 in free meals. From a total cost/value standpoint, I am essentially going to the game for free. Proof that sometimes it pays to be an optimist!

Oregon/Oregon State Game Score Prediction Contest
Ducks 38 - 30, 3, 3, 333

Apple Cup
Nope. Ducks have no option but to win.

Rooting for the Huskies?
I have pretty much decided that I don’t care who wins the Apple Cup. The Ducks will win the North, beat the Utes in a rematch for the Pac12 championship, and play in the Rose Bowl.

Rooting for the Huskies?
@30Duckyou may be right. But knowing many Beavers fans, beating the Ducks is more important than a Rose Bowl game to them. But do the players feel the same way?
-
Rooting for the Huskies?
I married into a Husky den, but converted my gal to the Duck side. I feel you, but REALLY don’t want to root for the Cougs either. And I hesitate to root for Utah, because they are Duck dream killers.

Oregon has a Third Down Problem
A two deep safety zone scheme has to look tantalizing to an opposing offensive coordinator. Especially on third down. I hope we have healthy enough players for a different D scheme against the Beavs.

Travis Dye Ponders his Future
The young Ducks will need player leadership next year against Georgia. Dye is our man. A great game against the Bulldawgs would go a long way toward improving his draft stock. The 2022 season is do or die for Dye.

Rooting for the Huskies?
A group of four of us are going to the Pac12 championship game Dec 3. We are Duck fanatics. We are native Oregonians. We want to see a rematch with Utah, but would accept an OSU vs Utah matchup. We DON’T care to see WSU play Utah, so do we need to root for the Huskies?

Wither College Football (CFB) the Pac-12 and the Oregon Ducks?
Jon, any chance that academic prowess schools in the PAC 12 leave to form their own league, freeing up the remaining schools to join the WAC?

As long as Uncle Phil supports him, I love my Mario.

Most Exciting Big Men for Oregon-EVER
Brings back memories of rat ball time in the gym with him during the offseason. Can’t think of his name, but there was another 7 footer playing at the same time that didn’t see much playing time. Ron? I generally would guard Rasmussen because I was tougher than the other 7 footer. It was hard to convince Blair to go to the rim because his fall away jumper from 10 feet was so good. He didn’t like playing with a body on him and I was a lean 6’2” at the time. He had surgery to correct his ankles as they were a nagging pain in college. He had a decent NBA career in Denver. He was a good classmate too.

Fire the Coach?
The old saying was that it takes a coach and a quarterback as leaders for a championship level football team. The rest of the players have to be willing to run through walls for their two leaders. We were close this year. We had it going in the Shoe. But football is a long season, and some of the players lost faith and quit. Quitting is bad form, but the loss of faith is the saddest. We saw how a unified team with equal at best talent handled a talented but divided team on Saturday night. I hope that Mario and AB are able to unite the team this week, or we will watch another less talented team unite behind a coach and a quarterback.
