This cluster hooey is what happens when you take a strict adherence to rankings and throw in arbitrary landing spots of conference champions in the 1-4 spots. Putting super powers like No. 2 and No.3 teams into 5 and 6 seeds can create match up nightmares for all the top ranked teams allowing other highly ranked teams to skate right threw with easy seedings. If Penn St had been seeded 5th instead of 6th the entire top of the BIG conference would have been slotted in the one seed path. Ridiculous!

Can you imagine the basketball selection committee sending a No. 1 North Carolina to play in a mid west regional in Kansas to play against a No. 3 Kansas and then if they win, they end up playing No.2 UCLA in LA? That's pretty much what the football committee just did.

Tez's moves are more like basketball fakes and hesitations. They are way more subtle than a Barry Sanders like football fake. I don't think football players know how to deal with it. His 0 to 60 acceleration after the move is simply unmatched. He's basically playing a different game than everyone else. I remember watching his first spring game. He caught a standard 10-12 yard pass in traffic, applied one of his now standard moves and was gone for about a sixty yard TD untouched. After consulting the roster list,. Targeting should be a penalty for an extra aggressive malicious play. Hence the term targeting. A lesser penalty needs to be used for a solid play with helmet to helmet contact. Eliminating a player for an entire half of a playoff game can drastically change an outcome needlessly.

PI needs to have a solid definition that the refs stick to. On that play the ref had a perfect view of the receiver been held and grabbed for several yards and then just said “nope”. How many times have we seen a desperate fourth down pass been rewarded with a weak PI called?

I could see Moga sticking around and becoming a situational wildcard. Sometimes he comes in at QB. Maybe others he’s a receiver or RB. I think Lanning has outside the box plans for him and I think that’s why he came here.

Great article. The defense basically gave up ten points all on the first and last drives of the first half for the huskies. The field goal after the fumble and the garbage time touch down were not on them. I always love watching how OBD's defense adjusts throughout the game. Chain moving third and long completions and QB scrambles that happen in the first half become incompletions and stops in the second. I expect PSU to frustrate us with third down catches by their all world tight end early but that should disappear as the game wears on. This will be PSU's seventh game in a row. The Ducks looked very rested and ready to go last week after a bye. It all bodes well for another great episode of Ducks vs Them.
