Football: Offensive Line Chatter

Who’s starting, who’s in if injuries rear their head?

It’s no secret that Oregon football is expected to have one of the most potent offenses in the nation this coming fall, with a bevy of talent at all the skill positions and a returning top-tier quarterback.

But any offense begins and ends with the line, and the Ducks must have theirs in place to develop chemistry and execution on the field. Unlike many positions, an offensive line generally cannot be plugged with transfers and expected to work just as well.

Not only that, but preparation for dealing with injuries is a must, as they will happen throughout the season inevitably.

Based on the current roster shape and spring ball, the starting offensive line could be the following:

LT - Fox Crader (RS So)

LG - Kawika Rogers (RS Sr)

C - Iapani Lalolulu (Sr)

RG - Dave Ilui (RS Sr)

RT - Michael Bennett III (RS Sr)

5 freshmen who could impact the Oregon Ducks in 2026

Football: Inside Linebacker Review

There’s definitely not a lot of experience behind Oregon’s two trusty Seniors

It’s no secret that Oregon’s defensive line is expected to be one of the more elite across the nation, but what about the second line of defense?

Though there appears to be a high ceiling for the young group, who do we know beyond Jerry Mixon and Devon Jackson that is a proven commodity in Division 1 action?

Though Oregon has done a good job of plug-and-play at various positions, the inside linebacking corps is not one of them, and inexperience seems to reign beyond the two veteran Seniors.

That being the case, the coaching staff appears to be all-in on the talent they’ve acquired through recruiting and trusting in their development, and it’s not like there haven’t been some notable success stories recently.

Dylan Raiola's Five-Star Ranking Questioned Before Oregon Career

The Oregon Ducks boast several five-stars from the high school recruit class of 2024, with a new breakdown claiming all three have yet to live up to their college career expectations.

In a recent article from CBS Sports' Cooper Petagna, he posits that Raiola's five-star rating from 2024 may be in question with Raiola's move to the Ducks to become a mentee under starter Dante Moore may be his route to success (with the emphasis that it's the same avenue Moore took with now Cleveland Brown Dillon Gabriel).

"A route less traveled, but one exemplified by Moore himself, Raiola will look to capitalize on a year to learn a new scheme while surrounding himself with a quarterback-friendly roster in what is presumed to be his offense in 2027," Petagna wrote.

The 3 former 5-star recruits poised to break out for Oregon in 2026

The Oregon Ducks head into the 2026 season with the program's best chance on paper to finally break through and win a National Championship. After back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff and a Big Ten Championship, the Ducks keep knocking on the door, and eventually the group seems poised to win it all.

The roster returns a ton of talent, headlined by the trio of Dante Moote, Matayo Uiagalelei, and A'Mauri Washington, who all passed up on the NFL Draft to return for one last season. Along with the underclassmen and the incoming transfers, the roster is loaded with elite talent. As the Ducks look to fill some of the few holes in the roster, there are several former 5-stars ready to break out.

At a calm shore, the Oregon defensive line learns to breathe fire

There's a vintage NFL film clip of Lawrence Taylor on the sidelines, helmet in hands, telling his New York Giant teammates, "We're gonna go in there like a pack of crazed dogs."

The best defenses and defensive lines are disruptive. They swarm and overwhelm what an opponent is trying to do, short-circuit a quarterback's brain with relentless pressure. They destroy. Masters of mayhem, aggressive, fearless, always on the attack.

That's what the Oregon defensive front has the potential to be in 2026. Four senior starters return, all high pro draft picks, A'Mauri Washington, Bear Alexander, Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti. Reserve sophomore edge rusher Nasir Wyatt is one of the emerging talents in college football, frightfully quick and disruptive. Five-star redshirt sophomore Elijah Rushing has honed his body to 6-7, 290.
