Six Big Ten teams are napping this weekend: Maryland has to change Locks; Nebraska won't be able to surrender a lead in the 4th quarter; No. 4 Ohio State needs to find a starting QB; Penn State's Little Game Matt is 0 for the Power 4, and he and Rocco aren't in Iowa anymore; Purdue is celebrating more B1G wins in 2026 than in the last two seasons; and Washington means no offense.

In his last four games against ranked opponents, and by a foot out of bounds, Ryan Day is 1-3. Losses to Indiana, Miami, and Texas before last week's escape in Bloomington.

In Week 8, there are no B1G Top 25 vs. Top 25 games.

No. 8 Ole Miss +3 at No. 19 Texas - 4:30 PM - ABC

The Longhorns are the first team in the history of the AP Poll to be ranked No. 1 and lose the next two games to unranked opponents.

No. 14 Houston +6.5 at No. 10 Utah - 7:15 PM - ESPN

Week 7, GameDay was in Provo. Week 8, Salt Lake City.

Houston is the first-ranked opponent that Utah has played in 2026. Houston coach Willie Fritz is right there with BYU's Kalani Sitake as the best in the Big 12.

If the game goes for 60 and not 59:59 minutes, I like the Cougars to win in front of the Mighty MUSS.

BYU, with a long trip to Orlando, Florida, and coming off the high of taking down Notre Dame last Saturday and being ranked 2nd in the AP Poll, is -6.5 vs. UCF, but better stay Frosty for Saturday's game against the now, not-so-Golden 3-3 Knights. - 12:30 PM Fox.

WEEK 8 B1G Games.

Week 8 in the Big Ten sees Iowa playing Minnesota in the 90th B1G Battle for a Pig.

In 1935, Iowa governor Clyde L. Herring made a wager with Minnesota governor Floyd B. Olson; the victor of the Hawkeyes vs. the Gophers game would win a prize pig from Rosedale Farms in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

The winner would keep the pig for a year before the next game was played for all the bacon.

Minnesota won the game; Clyde delivered the pig to Floyd, and the battle for the Floyd of Rosedale series was on.

There was only one problem: Floyd went to Hog Heaven before the 1936 game was played. Thus, a 98-pound bronze statue of Floyd replaced Floyd.

Saturday will mark the 90th time the teams have battled for the bronze bacon. The Gophers lead the series 63-54-2, but Iowa has won ten of the last eleven games.

This is the 28th Floyd of Rosedale game for Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, who is 20-7 in the fight for Floyd.

The Big Ten, a tradition like no other.

The odds for Saturday's games, with Sportsline game predictions for a few of the games. Broadcast details are in the attached B1G game previews from SuperWest Sports.

No. 9 UCLA -14 vs. Michigan State - Sportsline - UCLA 30, Michigan State 18.

No. 16 USC -3 at Wisconsin - The Badgers hope for a better outcome against a B1G team from LA than last week's loss vs. UCLA.

Will Riley win back-to-back B1G road games?

OREGON -8.5 at Illinois -Noon Pacific - Big Ten Network

Did Good Dylan or Go to Your Room Dylan make the trip to Champaign?

If it's Good Dillon, break out the post-game champagne. 🤪
