B-3 Variant Regarding Concussion Recovrry

Featured Replies

Kind of off topic a bit, but it is relevant to football injuries, particularly concussions:

Reportedly, Kyler Murray took the B-3 variant NR (Niagen) and was out for about a week. I posted about this vitamin and recovery from injuries a few years ago.

AI: Search Assist
A clinical study is investigating the effects of Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) on brain NAD+ levels in college football players, aiming to determine if it can help with concussion recovery. Participants will take either 750 mg of NR or a placebo for 84 days, with evaluations to measure changes in brain NAD+ levels and overall health. (It is approved as a supplement by the National Sports: Tru Niagen for Athletes & Sports Teams | NSF Certified NAD+ Support.

Niagen also holds FDA GRAS status and is NSF Certified for Sport®—critical for athletes who need to trust what they put in their bodies. u2028u2028 In an industry where recent independent testing revealed only 13% of NR products meet their label claims, Tru Niagen provides third-party verified purity and potency.

(I can personally report amazing benefits. This will be my only post about it, but Oregon should know.)

He doesn't say why here, and the company cannot claim it. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/50023633/vikes-murray-says-recovered-pretty-quickly-week-1-concussion

I take NMN for NAD levels. My body heals like it's about 10 years younger. Pretty amazing stuff. Not cheap, but it's worth it to live longer and healthier.

No.

Weed also helps with concussions. It's legal in Oregon for Dante to take since he is old enough. Doesn't matter if it banned by the NCAA, he isn't playing anyways. I don't take weed personally, but I'm only against the smell of it.

Is this a peptide? I took 2 cycles of BPC157 and TB-500 (wolverine stack). Did it for shoulder pain. Healing properties in Soft connective tissue.

I couldn't bench more than 35 lbs DBs before taking it. I am pushing up 80's now. Not sure what I can max, not interested either. No pain at all and the poping and grind went away.

I used to push 110s back in the day in my work outs and maxed at 145s, 2 reps. I will never be able to do that again but I am 57 years old now.

The wolverine stack is awsome for me. I am not endorsing it. Do your own research for sure

No, it works with peptides.

The NMN sold is often fake. It works though, so you must be buying a good quality version. In any case NR, is much more effective by volume. "AI Overview

  • Nicotinamide riboside (NR) shows a 2.3-fold (or 161% vs. 67%) higher increase in blood NAD+ levels compared to nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) at identical gram-for-gram doses in recent head-to-head human crossover trials. [1, 2]

  • Cellular Entry Mechanism: NR enters cells directly via nucleoside transporters, whereas NMN generally requires extracellular conversion into NR before crossing the cell membrane."

  • NMN sellers who claim that NMN has a more immediate path to create NAD are being deceptive. NMN breaks down to NR, and only then can enter a cell, and then it picks up a phosphate molecule, and eventually becomes NAD.

Thanks for the data. I could stand to try the NR if it's cheaper and even more effective. I use Black Forrest brand, they were the ones that actively lobbied to have FDA remove the ban. The NMN has zero side effects for me so I'm pretty happy with it, but willing to try alternatives.
