  10. Great post, John. So many terrific games scheduled for 11/7, including BYU at Utah, Miami at Notre Dame, Georgia at Ole Miss, but if Oregon and Ohio State are undefeated, this will be the most impactful and likely the most watched game of the weekend, if Fox doesn't come with a Nooner. NBC has the Canes at the Domers at 7:30 Eastern. I'm hoping for a Ducks vs Bucks kickoff on CBS, with a 3:30 Eastern kickoff. Ducks win, and we'll hear some vintage Ohio whining. But no rest for OBD. Oregon flies home to play Michigan.
  11. I think many voters, with good reason, put anOSU in first and the Ducks in second because they play this year in oHIo. If they evenly matched and the home field is worth 3 points... If the Ducks come out of there with a one point win, the voters will switch the top two spots... ¡Then on to the B1G Championship game! (¿Another flip-flop?) ¡Then on to the National Championship game! Will three games decided by a total of 5 points really solve anything? If the Ducks come out on top in such a scenario I can't imagine whining coming out of Columbus.
  12. Thanks Jon for completing so much research for us. The teams we face are quite manageable at face value. What will be difficult is the travel. OBD face the last six teams on the schedule alternating between Eugene and at least 2,000 miles east. So facing Ohio State begins with travel to Champagne, IL and coming back to Eugene to face Northwestern. Then we go to Columbus (we-ha ha ha) before coming home to face Michigan in Eugene the following week. Next "we" go to East Lansing to face Michigan State before coming home to vanquish the Fuskies. That is a Lot of travel. We do get the benefit of facing Portland State after traveling to North Texas' new home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, then traveling to LA to vanquish the Condoms (boy it is fun nicknaming our West Coast "rivals"!). So the schedule is tougher due to the amount of travel "we" face. This is where in Dan We Trust is essential...

  21. Flock Talk: Better for each otherOregon has spent months talking about becoming a player-led team. Twelve practices into fall camp, the clearest evidence may not be who gives the loudest speech, but how often Ducks are beginning to teach, challenge and develop one another. There is a version of leadership in football that is easy to recognize because it is impossible to miss. It is the player at the center of the huddle, the voice everyone hears after a bad period or the veteran speaking to the team when practice ends. Oregon has talked extensively this offseason about becoming more player-led, and it would be easy to measure that progress by counting those moments. I am starting to think the more important evidence is considerably quieter. Brian Michalowski offered an interesting example this week when he explained how he approaches development with Oregon’s linebackers. At the beginning of practice, he asks players what they want to emphasize that day. He still coaches them, corrects them and establishes the standard, but he also wants the player to recognize his own weakness and take responsibility for attacking it. “If it’s important to them and if it’s something that they want to get better at, they’ll attack it,” Michalowski said. 27. Rick Neuheisel predicts the Buckeyes will win the B1G conference title in 2026. A title Ohio State has not won since 2020. Who knew! Fine with me if the championship game is a rematch of the 2025 game between Indiana and Ohio State; Oregon as the 5th or 6th seed would be perfect. Give me a 1st-round game in Autzen vs the 12th or 11th seed. CBS Sports' 'Inside College Football' with Rick as one of the anchors is on Tuesday nights during the regular season. In my opinion, Inside College Football is the best of the weekly CFB programs. No bias shown to one conference or another. Although in the Big Ten Preview show, Rick noted that since CBS went B1G, the conference has won three Nattys, and some other conference once affiliated with CBS has won none. 😍 CFB-HQ On SIRick Neuheisel Makes Big Ten Championship Prediction Ahea...Some of college football's strongest powers in 2026 reside in the Big Ten.
