  2. My Duck-Buddies....this is my 40th year of being a season ticket holder, so the hundreds of times I've driven up to Autzen and approached it on Martin Luther King Blvd., (formerly Centennial) is an image that is etched in my mind. For so many years....it was a vast parking lot with tons of gravel. Then it became partially a gravel area, augmented with a practice field. Then it become ALL practice fields... I was not mentally prepared for what I saw as I drove up today, Saturday, August 22nd....approaching the first street to turn off for parking, going to the Duck Store, etc. This fricken new Practice Facility takes up the entire space of the practice fields,-the entire block! And the height of it is MASSIVE! Pictures do NOT convey the feeling you get when you see it up close....and it is just a frame at this moment! I was gasping at what I saw...good gosh this is going to be huge. This picture below from my cell phone in my vehicle does not do the visual impact you get any justice.... Wowsa. When they say that there will be nothing like it in the NFL or CFB...I believe it!
  3. On the latest episode of the Ducks Rising Podcast, Travis is joined by Landon Tengwall to discuss all things offensive and defensive line across the B10 conference. They start with an Oregon deep dive, touching on scheme concepts at Oregon, who is standing out along both lines and why he has high hopes for a few backups. They finish by looking around the conference, and fit in a few quick predictions on the way out. 0:41 Intro 3:45 Oregon Talk 10:03 OL Learning Curve 15:29 Defensive Line 27:10 B10 and National Thoughts

  8. Recruiting insiders continue to send strong signal on Oregon's standing with top QB targetJosiah Boyd continues to look like Oregon's next QB commitThus far, 7 of the top 10 quarterback recruits in the Country have announced commitments, creating some urgency for the schools without a commitment, and the players who haven't announced. The top uncommitted quarterback recruit in the Country is California native Josiah Boyd who's become a top target for the Ducks. When asked what Oregon could do for an encore in the 2028 cycle after landing Will Mencl in the 2027 class, Rivals recruiting insider Greg Biggins pointed to Josiah Boyd, whom he compares to Jayden Daniels when the two were at the same stage in their development. 9. Good stuff. Regarding SEC whitewashers, the B1G image builders would benefit by recalling Winston Churchhill’s comment, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
  10. No doubt that Tosh can, by gosh, recruit. GM Ron Rivera has the administration and Cal boosters aligned. I believe Rivera and Tosh want Cal to be Big Ten-worthy if and when the conference expands. The Bay Area is the ninth largest TV market in the USA. Cal students support football with a zeal not seen at Stanford. B1G presidents would welcome Cal with open arms. UCLA at Cal is one of the better Week 1 games. 18. Great post, John. So many terrific games scheduled for 11/7, including BYU at Utah, Miami at Notre Dame, Georgia at Ole Miss, but if Oregon and Ohio State are undefeated, this will be the most impactful and likely the most watched game of the weekend, if Fox doesn't come with a Nooner. NBC has the Canes at the Domers at 7:30 Eastern. I'm hoping for a Ducks vs Bucks kickoff on CBS, with a 3:30 Eastern kickoff. Ducks win, and we'll hear some vintage Ohio whining. But no rest for OBD. Oregon flies home to play Michigan.
  19. I think many voters, with good reason, put anOSU in first and the Ducks in second because they play this year in oHIo. If they evenly matched and the home field is worth 3 points... If the Ducks come out of there with a one point win, the voters will switch the top two spots... ¡Then on to the B1G Championship game! (¿Another flip-flop?) ¡Then on to the National Championship game! Will three games decided by a total of 5 points really solve anything? If the Ducks come out on top in such a scenario I can't imagine whining coming out of Columbus.
  20. Thanks Jon for completing so much research for us. The teams we face are quite manageable at face value. What will be difficult is the travel. OBD face the last six teams on the schedule alternating between Eugene and at least 2,000 miles east. So facing Ohio State begins with travel to Champagne, IL and coming back to Eugene to face Northwestern. Then we go to Columbus (we-ha ha ha) before coming home to face Michigan in Eugene the following week. Next "we" go to East Lansing to face Michigan State before coming home to vanquish the Fuskies. That is a Lot of travel. We do get the benefit of facing Portland State after traveling to North Texas' new home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, then traveling to LA to vanquish the Condoms (boy it is fun nicknaming our West Coast "rivals"!). So the schedule is tougher due to the amount of travel "we" face. This is where in Dan We Trust is essential...
