OFF TOPICS: For Your Interest (11)
Wish I would have thought of it . . . Penn St will be listed their players weights in Kgs this year. Also, the conspiracy theory that the NCAA purposely didn't give a blanket 5th year to the 2022 class was to cause the chaos we are seeing so that Congress would have to get involved. Sounds about right that the NCAA would look to chaos to cure chaos.

Need to look up "collusion", right Lane. Also, who else is surprised Tex Tech hasn't signed all of these student athletes? Seemed they gambled on testing the NFL waters.

Wow...The New Practice Facility BLEW ME AWAY....
It doesn’t get talked about much because it’s an unpopular subject that causes anxiety, but one of the potential, primary problems a naturally lighted, fully controlled atmospheric practice facility like this solves is where to comfortably practice in the event of extended periods of high local temperatures and atmospheric smoke. You can bet the brain trust that conceived and settled upon this design was looking at what may be in store for the future of the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks, Jabba. Supposedly, AD Bubba Cunningham did not want to hire Belichick, but was overruled by UNC trustees.

2026 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc. (9)
Oregon lands several stars on USA TODAY's top 100 players rankingsIt's almost time for football in Eugene. The Oregon Ducks are wrapping up fall camp this week before preparing for the season opener against Boise State at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 5. The expectations are high with one of the most talented rosters in the country. That sentiment was supported by USA TODAY's ranking of the top 100 college football players heading into the 2026 season. Nine Ducks landed in the rankings, the most of any program. Led by a Heisman-caliber quarterback and armed with plenty of experience in big games, Oregon is one of the frontrunners to win it all this season, but talent can only take a team so far. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/08/25/oregon-football-usa-todays-top-100-rankings-dante-moore/91449480007/

The Cost to Fill a Coaches Hot Seat
Having lived in Raleigh for 4 years recently, I can tell you firsthand Bubba isn’t serious about football at all imo. He likes to spike 2-3 seasons of ticket sales with a circus and then move on. If it works out, great, but onto the next circus if not.

No B1G thing; Everybody's doing it, right, Lane? The SEC? I can't tell whether the conference went deep and told Judge Roy Bean to take a hike or simply decided to polish the conference image. Big Ten Reportedly Passes Rule Change Banning NFL Players...The Big Ten unanimously passed a rule on Tuesday that will prevent NFL players from returning to college and suiting up for a team in the conference, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

The Cost to Fill a Coaches Hot Seat
Thank you, Steven A. It's only $$$, eh? ADs vs Agents = 2026 Notre Dame consuming a bowl of Rice in front of TDJ. Worst hire of all time? FSU poaching Schlock, er, Slick from OBD is right up there. But it doesn't compare to the hire of Chapel Bill and his adult cheerleader buddy. Bill brought the circus to town, and his GM was in the process of forming an NFL team worse than the Jets before being relieved of his duties. Bill's opening game: 2025 Chapel Hill - TCU 48 - UNC 14. Rematch this Saturday in Dublin, Ireland. If you can't sleep in and don't have nits to pick, a lawn to cut, or a car to wash, 9 AM Pacific on ESPN. (Not too early for a Dublin-time shot and a beer, right? 🤪) Billy Edwards, who started at Maryland and spent some time in Wisconsin, is now UNC's QB. No one will confuse this Billy for coach Billy's former QB, Tom Brady. After taking care of business vs New Mexico State in Week 0, Chiefs Osceola and Mike Norvell open ACC play on Sunday, September 6th, vs. No. 19 SMU, featured in a 7:30 PM Eastern time slot on ESPN. QB Ashton Daniels, who started at Stanford before being benched at Auburn, has arrived to save Mike's job; fortunately, things are all good with Chief Osceola. (Contrary to rumor, Chief O will not be throwing his spear at Mike.) FSU was back for one week in 2025, after defeating Bama 31-17 in the opening game. CFB Playoff Committee members missed this game and sent a rumored 3-loss Crimson Tide (the 2nd loss counted for BYU, the third loss for the Tide?) to the playoffs. Beating another overrated SEC team in Norman was OK; then the Tide set a Bama bowl record in Pasadena. 😁(What's that? Sorry, I can't help you. I remember the Alamo but not the Peach Bowl.🤬) These panty-waste, penny-pinching ADs should look to LSU as the shining example. Only $54 million to dump a crusty, red-faced Irishman, who fit Baron Rouge like a keg of Guinness at an AA meeting, and a mere $90 million, or so, to hire a guy who won two conference championships at Florida Atlantic. ( I believe FAU was Slick's last tour of duty?) And children are supposed to behave better than these adults? 😇

Oregon Ducks Practice Reports Updates, Etc. “2026” (10)
Oregon freshman WR Messiah Hampton emerging late in fall campRochester is a long way from Eugene. Still, the Oregon Ducks made the trip out east to New York last year to pull in the state's top recruit: wide receiver Messiah Hampton. The state isn't known for a competitive high school football landscape, but the Ducks still saw the young wideout rising above. A snappy route runner with great hands, enough speed to play inside or out, and a dynamic ability to play a variety of roles — that sounds like the perfect fit in Oregon's offense. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/08/25/oregon-football-messiah-hampton-fall-camp-emerging/91450558007/
