Aaargh...Max Borghi seemed to play at WSU for a decade and always was a thorn in the Ducks' side. Kind of like Britain Covey at Utah. Both smart, underrated players. I think you made an excellent case against your own argument with all the points about the Cougs. But it is Pullman, the Area 51 of college football games. Stay nervous, my friends.

Going to the Palouse is like entering the Bermuda Triangle; strange things happen. I always fear games in Pullman. And, WSU will throw and throw, attacking the weak point of the Ducks' defense. Stay nervous, my friends.

I learned that watching Ducks football can be fun again. It's obvious from afar that the team is focused, disciplined, crisp, aggressive, and ready to play. All things that were missing under what's-his-name. No more deflating play calls, bad choices, disorganization, baffling time-outs, and lack of energy. Win or lose, Lanning's teams are going to be ready to play and engaging to watch.

Looking at the box score, Sewell had just 2 tackles; Bassa had 5, Brown and LaDuke 4 each, and Funa 3. Odd.

Were we not entertained?

Is Thompson getting the starting O linemen in front of him?

Has Dollars taken a snap?

Players playing great, but the biggest difference last year to this season? The coaching.

BYU is going to have to throw. Watch out, Bridges.

Well, that analysis sure doesn't bode well for this season. And, next season too, unless Dante Moore is really, really good.

Well, Thompson and Butterfield have had multiple years and two sets of coaches to impress, and apparently have failed to do so. Are they not that good? Have they not been developed? Two need for two grad-transfer QBs in two years does not speak well of something in the program.

That was a debacle for the team. It was a debacle for the fans, a debacle for the coaches and players, a debacle for recruiting, a debacle for the PAC. It completely reinforces the national reputation of the Ducks; flashy, but soft, especially when it counts. Gonna be a lot of laughing going on in rival fan bases, lots of laughing. But, there's nowhere to go but up, and actions going forward will speak a lot louder than anything anyone connected with the program can say. One game this bad is way too small a sample size to make any real assessments; gotta see what changes going forward. I sure hope a lot.

Flush this one. The only thing to watch now is how the coaches and the players respond to this.

It appears that Mario is not the only Ducks' coach who thinks his backup QBs can't play.
