Cristobal Explains His Decision to Canzano...
As a family man and person, I am excited for Mario. Going home is a call that many of us have felt. It plays on one of our deepest emotions...... Regret... MC was torn about his decision... As a fan ask yourself this question. Based upon the results of the last 3 games, was MC and his staff capable of getting Oregon to the CFP? IMHO, no. Their was no sign of change by MC from the play call when we fumbled a sure win against Stanford, away. A few years back. To the last 3 games. Other than ditching the pistol. His process and coaching mindset were predictable. On day 1 to the last day. Predictable.

Kalani Sitake from Brigham Young interviewing for the job?
Amen HaywardDuck. Amen...... If we want to reach and then continually be a CFP team, we need a quality coach. We'll rounded, experienced leader. Someone who knows that you have to out score the other team. Especially those games that the D couldn't stop a little guys team. This requires RM and PK to make a quality decision. Take your time, get it right.

Whew! CFB World Reacts to Brutal Treatment of Diaz by Miami
Miami fans will be happy to go 10-2 and play in the ACC Championship for 3 or 4 years..... They will have forgotten Diaz and how poorly he was treated. MC will find out that Clemson will never be an easy out. And as Charles has preached for the last few years..... You need 45 points a game or more from the offense. Then our problem (34 points per game) will be their problem.

Bring Back Chip Kelly? No Thanks
Please No Need a leader, recruiter, a healer. Hec, Chip couldn't even be bothered to drive a few hours in any direction from Westwood. To put 25-4&5 star recruits on the team. How or why would you expect him to fly to Texas, Florida, Alabama? Please no..........

What about Joe Salave'a?
Annie. That's a good question. At this point do we know if he is off to Miami?

Is Mullens In Front Of The Players Too?
Interesting thought. Did they name an interim coach. Maybe I missed it. Maybe too many coaches leaving with MC? But you are right. Who's in charge now and who, if anyone, talked to the players?

Informed Prediction Time: Chip Kelly Might be the Next Guy
Boy oh boy..... Chip does not like to recruit. He certainly checks alot of boxes, though. These top 10 recruiting classes didn't just arrive at Oregon. They were recruited..... Some for a few years. And recruited hard.....

Now We Watch the Portal to See Who Bolts
Yes they can transfer anytime. Whatever disfunction was taking place in that locker room, the players kept it in house.... Hoping for a timely, great hire ....

Wow, Cristobal's Oregon Contract was "Pulled Off the Table"
Well they certainly owe the players some answers. Forgot in all this business side of football are the players. They have hopes and dreams, too. They have questions that require answers. They have to make plans. Stay, transfer portal, whatever....... But these things will come up in their lives, many times. Just part of their education. Go Ducks.

Five Candidates and Two Firecrackers to Replace Cristobal and Get Oregon Back to a ‘Natty
Great article. Thanks...... Glad I don't have to make any of these difficult decisions . All the noise sense the butt kicking we got from the Utes (Congrats Utes) came from Miami and the sports industry talking heads. It was all quiet from Mullens and Oregon. They did their talking with the largest, longest term offer in Duck history. Telling MC, thank you, job well done, we believe in you. Then media silence..... The moment MC didn't sign and said he and his agent were meeting Saturday: Pretty certain the search was underway. All of the names mentioned have more Pros than Cons...... For the most part, many coaches will want the Oregon HC position. Only a handful are really set at their destination. Oregon is a top 10 destination..... Hopefully that and the money will garner a top 10 coach.

The TRUTH: How IS this Forum Doing?
Charles thank you for this safe haven. You and your team hold the standard of civility to a very high standard. And you enforce it with love..... One of the perks of my profession is to help people build self-confidemce and then see them grow. A large segment of people cannot get up, in front of a crowd, and give a speech. It's a natural reluctance to maybe fail. On other sites, when good folks, dip a toe and risk comments they get destroyed by the self important bullies. They rarely try again. Not so on this forum. Proof is in the pudding...... Keep this up, please. "Happy" to see all the new members and "Happy" to donate.

Monday Recruiting Visits CANCELLED: Cristobal Flying Back to Eugene
Miami is in no position to dictate to MC. That's just classless billionaire bluster. MC holds all the cards. Bring back the Miami offer to Mullens and PK. Oregon will counter. MC holds all the cards. Plus he cannot be bullied or pushed.

Perhaps It’s Not a Coach, but a New AD…
So true. It takes a strong relationship to withstand the losses. The one's that do get away. MC should let PK know his intentions, face to face. Few if any know the conversations between these 2 men. Men and women, with honor and integrity, look both friend and foe directly in the eye. This one is not a social media communication moment. Players, administration and a few boosters need to hear this directly. The one damn time MC make a bold, aggressive play on the offensive. Go figure....

Thank Goodness For the Beloved Ducks Forum
Cartm25, some players were going to transfer before this coaching change possibility arose. Something was not right in that locker room. Many on this sight mentioned it. M. Pittman had the nads to leave early. Players will transfer if we retain MC and others will transfer when he leaves. But this site and its members will remain strong. Unlike MC and his staff, Charles and his team: Stick to the process Say what they mean and mean what they say Loyal to the brand Follow thru to protect those that believe Hec, what a great concept, follow thru with what you say. Oregons brand will survive too.

Who is at the Alamo Bowl Zoom Presser representing the Ducks?
Where was MC actually at during that conference? My soap dish in the guest bathroom has more enthusiasm than he showed. Get it over with and declare your choice. Either way.......

Player's Dad just Confirmed Cristobal leaving
So boosters make the decisions now. They hire a coach and then hire the AD. Really..... For those not old enough to know... When Miami was winning Championships it was a 3 ring circus Clown show with a big top. Still a clown show. They expect to hire MC with their program 4 years behind Oregon in top level recruiting. And expect to win the Natty. Top notch recruiting classes, world class facilities at Oregon and still MC did not deliver a Natty. How will it be different in Miami.

Mario and Miami appear to be Close to a Deal
The only reliable source will be from which school calls a press conference. No matter what Miami offers, MC , his agent and wife should meet face to face with Mullens and PK. It's about honor and integrity. They gave a coach with a losing record, the second chance he desperately needed. His players went to bat for him. Makes sense for a man who preaches loyalty and integrity to turn his back on those who gave him trust and their loyalty.

It All Makes Sense
It is impossible to serve 2 masters. I feel for the players. Coaches looking out for their own personal interests. Yet asking the players to give their all. Baloney. Can't serve the needs of the team with 100% focus when your agent keeps calling. At that point you are serving your personal needs. This didn't just happen for MC and JM overnight. Been in the works for a few weeks. It showed up in the first Utah game, then permeated for 2 more weeks. Leaving is fine.... But the game checks these guys receive demands 100% plus. The players probably had an idea what was happening. Coaches quit on them so they quit on the coaches. Haywarduck you nailed it.

Mario and Miami appear to be Close to a Deal
For sure. If he had signed a contract then somebody would be scheduling a press conference. Other than recruiting, MC moves slow and methodical. He doesn't need to rush this. The longer he takes the more money he makes.
-
Mario and Miami appear to be Close to a Deal
The ACC is even weaker than the pathetic PAC conference. MC's recruiting will move Miami to the upper side of the ACC. Even with his weak coaching skills. Just the 2022 Oregon recruits and players who will transfer will upgrade Miami significantly. When he signs with Miami, Mullens will begin the new search. Could be quite the cluster

From twitter, Dec. 4, 1:54 pm
Annie, thanks for posting. At this point only MC knows what it is worth. Going home is a tough emotion to compete with. Afraid we may have lost this battle, some recruits and here comes the transfer portal. Hang in their Duck faithful.

Offensive Coordinator Replacement: Your Thoughts?
Go big or go home. If, and that's a big if, MC stays go after the best OC's around. Ones with HC possibilities galore. Pay over the top. $3 million plus. Make Oregon a destination for young, innovative coaches. Should know in a few days whether MC stays. MC's strength is recruiting. He loves the chase and conquest. Recruits and parents want answers. NOW.......

Interesting Remarks from Recruit Cyrus Moss
CJ good point. Riley may be too late to this party. MC has a ready made spot for Moss. Moss knows what to expect in the Duck system. Riley has to not only win over recruits but the existing Trojan players There will be transfers coming and going from the Ducks and Trojans.

Interesting Remarks from Recruit Cyrus Moss
Well done 81DuckAlum. Thanks for posting. If MC is genuine he stays. Doesn't seem to be the kind that will walk away from the kids and their parents. Been wrong alot in my life. Hope I am right on this one.

Miami will go Big to get Mario
Mario has a big decision before him. Stay at a school that has a 25 year successful culture and process in place. Oregon has been close to the top of the mountain, (Joey Harrington years. Ducks got jobbed out of a Natty spot). Then fell down for a few years. (Bellotti, Kelly and MH took us back to the top twice.) Then the 4-8 and 7-6 years with MH and Slick. (Then the 4 year climb back near the top under MC.) Thru it all each staff stuck to the Oregon culture and process. During that time Oregon boosters, especially Phil and Penny poured untold millions into facilities and state of the art everything. The fan support was spectacular. Miami on the other hand got to the top 30 years ago and stayed thru Johnson and Erickson. Hats off they broke thru and butt whipped all the blue bloods. Well done.... However Miami had no culture or process in place. No investment into facilities by boosters. Coker could not maintain and for 20 plus years the Canes have been an after thought. So MC can choose to maintain and grow the established culture at Oregon. Enjoy unlimited booster support and get Oregon to the top. He has about 60 plus blue chip established players to work with. Or He can go home. Start fresh from the ground up. Then establish the needed culture and process and take the Canes back to the top. He can maybe hope the boosters will invest hundreds of millions to upgrade facilities. Either way MC will get it done. I just hope he remembers which school gave him his second chance as a head coach. MC talks about loyalty. Let's see if he means it.
