  1. Thank you Charles. Would like to see some more 'beef' on the menu?
  2. Another great take Joshua. How long did it take Kirby to win a Natty? Patience will be required.
  3. A preferred Walk-On who will hopefully earn a scholarship? With his brother's recruitment in play, this looks like some good long term strategy.
  4. Whoever the starting RB may be, I believe patience will have be practiced by us fans in 2022. We have a HC with a huge upside but he has never been an HC. He has collective new staff, which looks great, but they have never all worked together. A new system is being introduced on both sides of the ball. The Oregon QB will never have started a game for Oregon. The Ducks have an OOC baptism by fire. Opening against the defending national champ, with its champ winning QB back and also playing a top 25 and experienced BYU team. Then 5 conference road games in a Pac-12 conference where no team since expansion has gone undefeated. Other big questions. Is Flowe cursed with the injury bug; can he hold up for an entire season? Are the guys Mario recruited equal to their recruiting ranking? Will a game-breaking WR show up? Can Dillingham get the O back to scoring 40+ points a game? Are the OL guys Mario recruited built to play in the style of O Dillingham will run? Will any impact recruits or transfers, including Nix, be coming on board? Will the D be improved from what we saw from DeRuyter? Also, the QB play in the conference next season at least on paper, should materially improve. UCLA and ASU return their starting QBs. Plummer at CAL (and CAL lost a number of 1 score games in 2021) and Penix at UW could be big upgrades. Ward is coming into WSU. Ward threw for over 4000 yards in 2021 and his HC at Immaculate Word is now the Cougars OC. The very good WSU QB transferred to Arizona. Cam Rising is the undisputed starting QB at Utah. The returning QB at Stanford is very good. The Beavers have an experienced QB returning. Not on the schedule in the regular season but watch out if Caleb Williams signs with SC. Of course, I am hoping for the best but Lanning has to be given some time to get his pieces in place. One thing I do expect to see under Lanning, the team playing to its talent level, ready to play hard for 60 minutes against every opponent and not playing down to the level of poorer competition.
  5. Exactly! The way Diaz, a guy who grew up in Miami and whose Dad was the mayor of Miami, was treated by Miami was shameful. The team in 2021 never quit on Diaz and Diaz had identified his QB of the future. He was recruiting quite well. IMO the hiring of Mario was a case of boosters running-amok. What game did the Miami decision makers watch last season and the season before, other than at Ohio State, that convinced them that Mario is a great coach? Assistant coaches are not fans, they work for a living and the stiff arm they are giving Mario speaks on its own.
  6. Duck -1972, great question my friend. Ranking is based on both quantity and quality. 247 has a raking of the players in the portal and uses this ranking as well as the number of commits signed. Both USC and No.2 LSU have signed a lot of guys, 12 and 11 respectively, and most of these guys were highly rated in the portal. IMO, one place the ranking somewhat misses on is 'need.' Bama is down a bunch of wide receivers in 2022 and just signed the #4 ranker player out of the portal, a WR from Georgia. Like signing LB To'o To'o out of LSU last season this signing not only helps Bama but hurts in-conference member Georgia. I hate to bring it up but kind of like Dye signing with USC?
  7. The rankings that do the best at ranking recruits and transfers is the 247 Roster rankings? But spot on. I know of no outlet adding recruits and transfers together to value a new incoming class. Oregon signs Broussard and the Ducks will move up. A 2nd year player and highly ranked recruit from Nebraska just entered the portal One of the new Ducks assistants was the lead recruiter at Nebraska for this kid's services.
  8. $? Kid was the 4th ranked player in the portal and Bama needed help at WR. But I agree with Hardman, it's not like this kid was buried on the UGA depth chart. Perhaps he sees playing with the Heisman winning QB at Bama a step up from Bennett and UGA. A chance to better show off for the NFL?
  9. Thanks 30. Dykes brings the SMU crew with him to TCU. SMU was a good G5 program under Dykes so I don't know where the D+ grade is coming from? Billy Napier brings a bunch of guys with him from a successful G5 program at LA LA into the SEC and gets an A+? Happy to see Lanning get an A but I'm not sure why the author believes that Riley did not assemble a quality support group? Riley's staff is lighting it up out of the portal. A nice off season exercise but the proof of this pudding will of course, be determined by on field results.
  10. 1. USC - With 12 commits SC has moved past LSU to the top of the most recent ranking. Still waiting on Caleb Williams. If Williams doesn't commit to SC could Dart come back? Dart recently visited Ole Miss. 12 UCLA - 6 commits 14 Arizona - 7 commits 22 ASU - 8 commits 32 Washington State - 4 commits - QB Cam Ward from Incarnate Word is the big get here. IW's HC is also coming to Pullman as the new OC. 41 CAL - 3 commits 47 OREGON - 3 commits Glad that 247 has come up with the transfer rankings. In this day and age of the transfer portal it's nice to get an idea of the teams doing well out of the portal. Riley is at least skill position wise, materially changing the Trojans roster. If Riley lands Williams or Dart comes back and SC will be a tough out in 2022. One of the 12 SC commits does include an OT from UVA who was second team All ACC. I'm surprised that Utah, picking up a LB from Florida who was the Gators top tackler in 2021 and 2 TEs from Idaho and Syracuse, is not in the top 50. Burmeister has transferred from VA Tech to San Diego State.
  11. Good take. Nevertheless I don't believe Oregon should be playing 1 off games for money; especially, against SEC teams in Dixie. I would have loved seeing Oregon play in the great college town that is Athens, 'Tween the Hedges,' and the Dawgs playing in Autzen. But it is what it is and I will be in Atlanta and hoping to watch a great and competitive game.
  12. Was that you with the marbles in pocket! If so, Spot On!
  13. NO WAY was that comment directed at you my friend. I believe as a number of folks on the Forum believe, that Mario was poking his nose into the O. I never believed having watched him at Penn St and Miss St that what we saw at Oregon was Joe's O. Forgive me please if you took my take personally.
  14. Spot on and how about the number of times a RB puts his helmet into a defender's head gear? You really want to end 'this?' Co back to leather helmets and no face masks. I played CFB, ice hockey and rugby in college. The fewest vicious hits? In rugby where no one wore a helmet.
  15. You fxxxed up. You trusted us! I've given this a lot of thought, you're Delta Tau Chi name is Flounder. Flounder? I thought there were blanks in that gun? There were blanks in that gun. Hooooly Spit! I guess I am now on Forum double secret probation?
  16. I'd be OK with this game if it was played in Athens with a return game played in Eugene. Just as I was fine with a H+H with Ohio State. UGA rejected a H+H with Oregon. Plenty of Pac-12 and SEC teams have H+H series scheduled. Utah plays at Florida this season and Florida returns the favor with a game in SLC. UW just scheduled a H+H with TN. UCLA has a return game scheduled at LSU. Arizona has a H+H scheduled with Bama. CAL a H+H with Auburn. ETC. 13-0? No Pac-12 team has gone undefeated in conference since the Pac-10 went to the Pac-12. And Oregon has BYU OOC and 5 Pac-12 road games. There is a difference between courage and foolishness.
  17. Do you mind if we dance with your dates?
  18. The best HC? See Ws vs Ls. Mario is 62-60 for a reason.
  19. Having just re-watched the great NFL divisional games, helmet to helmet in CFB would have been called many the time. I get the call for spearing but simple helmet to helmet contact being called in CFB is IMO, stupid. I'm all for player safety but so many of these H to H calls in CFB are simply the result of guys playing football. It's a violent game. Award a 15 yard penalty for H to H. OK. But to kick guys out of a game and for a half into the next game for anything other than spearing?
  20. Want a brew? Don't cost nothin'.
  21. 5'9" 185 lbs. 31st all time rushing at CU. There have been a lot of good running backs at CU including Heisman winner Rashad Sallom (sp?) LaMichael was not the biggest guy in the conference and did OK.
  22. But I think this would be a good thing for the Ducks RB room.
  23. 1-1. Lost the SEC champ game but won the title.
  24. That player was the Pac-12 1st team RB in 2020. Broussard is not a lightweight. He put up 831 yards rushing in 2020 playing for CU. He would be a very valuable get out of the portal.
