  1. Rose Bowl - 1 point win over a 3l team with the NFL rookie of the year playing QB in an exhibition game Conference championship that meant nothing after the L at ASU knocked the team out of the CFP Auburn? A game that was a lost due to game mismanagement; L against the 5th best team in the SEC
  2. And Clemson DC Brent Venables new HC at OK. Good luck Mario and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
  3. 62-60. THIS is Mario's record as head football coach. All of the excuses in the world cannot eradicate or alter this record. $9M for this? $9M for an offense that is antiquated, puts fans to sleep and allows crummy opponents to hang in for 4 quarters? You expect to road grade teams with a awesome OL and you have an OL coach is there only because of past associations. If Mario doesn't leave, the ceiling is the Rose Bowl when it is not a semi-final site. How can you have screwed up so badly that 4 and 5* QB recruits cannot beat out a mediocre, journeyman QB? If he leaves there are good options out there: Dave Aranda, Matt Campbell, Bob Stoops, Jeremy Chadwell, and home-boy Justin Wilcox. A guy who is fed up at CAL and with an administration and fan base that gives him no support. 1 final thought? Has anyone seen this great recruiting evidence itself on the field of play?
  4. The reason? The same coaching staff that ran the same 'stuff' vs Utah twice in 3 weeks and a team not motivated or ready to play. In other words, same old, same old. Mario is NOT going to 'grow' as a HC. Guys a year older under Mario will run an antiquated O no better than the Ducks players we saw last night. Mullens extends him, gives him a raise and bigger buyout, then both HC and AD should go.
  5. SSDD. Find someone who knows his butt from his elbow when it comes to offense in the 2020s. On talent alone, if recruits do not decommit, in this conference Mario will win 9 to 10 games. But the team will never be elite and the O will be put you to sleep boring.
  6. EVERY question you asked in your excellent article was answered last night in the negative.
  7. If there is a long term plan under Mario IMO it has yet to be revealed?
  8. The system on O is antiquated and not suited for today's game. Among other spot on questions asked by Herbie last night, where is the hurry up? In today's game you are not going to smash mouth your way to the CFP. Mario needs a top down review of the program including S+C and game preparation. Oregon being up and down this season has been the manner in which the Ducks have played under Mario. Recruiting numbers do not matter if the talent is not coached up and the numbers do not mean talent will automatically show up on the field of play. Look at the 2022 schedule. It will be one of the more difficult in the nation. You run the predictable O we have seen vs UGA in the 2022 opener and best of luck.
  9. This stat is impressive. Brown was under pressure on 41% of his pass attempts and there was not much blitzing by the Utes D.
  10. You want today's Chip? Hire Jeremy Chadwell from Coastal Carolina.
  11. P(layers) E(ver) R(eady?) S(eriously?)
  12. Hats off to Coach Whittingham, the Utah team and the Utah fans who tripped down Interstate 15 and allowed the game to be played in an alive stadium, and not in the void that was Santa Clara. Represent in the Rose Bowl! Other than that? I abhor excuses and why pile on when the game and product the Ducks put on the field speaks for itself; loud and clear. Go Ducks!
  13. Come mid-January, Chip's buyout is $0.
  14. Spot on! I'm all in favor of extending Puddles and giving him a pay raise.
  15. Utah at one time this evening had 8 frosh, true and COVID. on the field playing D. Ohio State, Oklahoma and Alabama QBs are all freshman.
  16. But we are getting smash mouthed. Run the other play?
  17. Please? Come on Canes.
  18. Herbie nailed it early on: Lethargy! Extension? In line with current salaries? Is Mullens watching?
  19. Tonight will be the 7th time in 11 champ games that the Pac-12 will have a rematch. The team that won earlier is 5-1 in the previous 6 games. The exception to the rule? The Ducks blow out of Rich Rod and Arizona.
  20. Maybe 'we' do? But how would anyone who has not attended practice know?
  21. Depends on whether OK ST defeats Baylor tomorrow and makes the Final 4? Baylor wins and the Bears go to the Sugar Bowl and the Ducks opponent would be OK ST. A team playing very much the same as did Iowa State last season. But I do expect OK ST to defeat Baylor tomorrow and at 12-1 with a much better SOS than Cincy, advance to the CFP? In that case I think 2L OK will go to the Sugar Bowl and 3L Baylor to the Alamo Bowl? San Antonio is an easy 3 or so hour drive from Waco. I don't know how many OK/OK ST fans would care about the Alamo game but I expect Baylor fans would be fired up and show up? Of course, I hope we will be discussing Oregon's opponent in the Rose Bowl and not the Alamo Bowl opponent?
  22. I generally do agree with this take. However, has the team improved game by game since the win at Ohio State? Injuries happen to every team and the better teams overcome. Mr. T did not play in Columbus. Facing Georgia tomorrow Bama is down to 1 fully healthy RB. I've seen the same movie four years running. I do hope Oregon smacks Utah and blows out the opponent in the Rose Bowl. I'm with Charles. Mario is a good man. We all want to see him do well at Oregon. But before the field expands IMO he will not take the Ducks to the CFP.
  23. Utes - 34-21; 1 take away, 1 sack, under 200 passing yards. I hate making this call but I trust Whittingham to have his team ready more than I trust Mario to have the team ready.
