I expect to see more players getting snaps along with changing roles for some, too. Coach Lanning’s comments about the team say he’s looking for more and different while not satisfied with the status quo.

Will coaches Dan Lanning and Mario Cristobal’s teams face off in the post season playoff? Miami is playing like I had hoped our Ducks would play this season. The second half of the season will be intruiging. Go Ducks!

If I recall correctly the Chipster was not particularly fond of living in Eugene. Does anyone remember otherwise? It would surprise me if Coach Lanning replaces Coach Mehringer or supersedes Mehringer’s role.

During the past two seasons as games begin I find myself wondering which DM will play? Will it be the precise passer who uses the entire field of play with confidence? Or is it the DM who looks uncomfortable and cannot locate open receivers, then misses some of the who are open or throws too late? It seems obvious which performance the game holds after two offensive possessions, and it holds generally true for the game. Moore either has it or he does not. If not, the issue is mental not athleticism or skill. He can run, but is not an aggressive threat when a play breaks down. I am relatively sure that Mehringer does not want to erode Moore’s confidence by substituting early for him, but if the Ducks are to advance to their potential he needs to do it. The Ducks have a deep QB room. We need to play the one who can carry and lead the team with excellence-even if it is one game at a time. I am convinced after two seasons that automatically playing Moore every game and every series will result in several losses this season. The coaches need to identify and play the “hot hand”. Or, they need to early see that Dante Moore is “off” his best play, and adjust accordingly. As a once-upon-a-time QB myself, I do not say this lightly with disregard to leadership, continuity, or the need for bolstering QB confidence. When he’s good he is very very good. When he’s not, he can lose the game and it shows early in the first series’.

We need R&R. Raiola and Riggs are for real.

I like your post and perspective. Thanks. At my house in Eastern Time zone, it’s nearly 1:30. The sun has not yet risen, and I feel like it will be a cloudy week ahead. That’s the problem with dreams and expectations. Sometimes they get crushed. I was looking forward to the next fifteen weeks, but feel that the air has left the room and a rug has been pulled out from under my feet.

Many of you know, as I found out, how excruciating a game like this can be following it on ESPN Gamecast and play by play text. The play was painful enough with video telecast!

Ducks are sleep walking for a second week. Moore does not have it, but we have three QB’s who can run the offense. Maybe Dante needs a break before it’s too late? The DB’s are most disappointing. to me. I thought they would be shutdown dominant, but they look slow and out of position. The DL is leaky and cannot make critical stops. Ugh.
