Oregon needs to go lights out the next two seasons. Make the CFP and play in championship game. Who knows, maybe even win the whole thing with Mariø's recruits. That will increase the value. Oregon has been carrying this conference for years. Got a little help from Utes and Fusky a few years back. But for the most part its been all Ducks. If Oregon decides to save the Pac they need to go all in on NIL, portal, recruiting. Most of all out of conf, starting with Sept 3rd. Ducks hold their own fate in their hands. No excuses.

Walker was UGA back when I was just starting to watch college football. UGA was my 1B at the time behind the Ducks. I was 12 yo. Ducks were 1A because my older brother was a Fusky fan. Sibling rivalry I guess.

I spend most of saturdays watching college football. Sometimes from 9am to 11pm. I look for the closest well matched teams to watch. Not necessarily the best teams in the country. Sometimes i find those games on Root or espn 23. Not usually watching tOSU v. Rutgers. I like well matched competitive football. HBC's or SEC doesn't matter. I have other things to do if they cut football in half. I have her and she is amazing. I have guitar and playing music with friends. So much more. Maybe football doesn't need me but I don't need it either. Love watching Duck football and always will. I can substitute the rest.

Right. Between this game and getting snubbed in 01 for blue blood Nebraska. Now getting compleatly blind sided by traditionally blue blood USC and the B1G? Little ol' Oregon must be over the target. Got'em right where we want them. Watch out McDawg here we come.

Grrr.... I knew the Harris int would be brought up. I was trying to avoid it. That play gets me boiling to this day. All these years later and I still can't get over that. AU went on to score on that one too.

There was the time the the Ducks were snubbed by the BCS system in 2001. The computers put Neb in championship game over the ducks. Every human poll had the Ducks as #2 team in the nation. I am not saying OBD would have beaten that Miami team. That team was crazy good. Would have liked to have had a shot though. Probably the most frustrating moment as a Duck fan for me.

Most of us root for Little Brother except late November. Fusky is hated at levels most would seek professional help from. It Started with Washington voting against the Ducks for conference title in the 40's. Fusky also convinced Montana to vote against Ducks. Gave Cal the title. Look up anything Neuheisel. The most hated man in history of the rivalry. For fun, go re-watch Animal House.

PK built, arguably, the greatest athletic mecca on the planet. He has done a lot for OBD. Thank you Mr. Knight.

Oregon, IMO, should should hitch their wagon to B?G or the SEC. The progr'm Oregon has been striving to become lines up best in those two conferences. I would love to see Oregon in the SEC. I think Ducks level up immediately. If I look at the recruits Oregon is pursuing. A lot of them are SEC kids that have Oregon in their top ?# with SEC behemoths.

With all the upheaval, my confidence in this class is diminishing. Just a brutal situation for OBD. If anyone can hold this together perhaps it's Lanning. He has a strong supporting cast for sure.

I am pretty much over whats been going on conference wise. This is a breath of fresh air. Would be great to get back to recruiting, play style, coaching and the like.

I would love to see Oregon compete in the SEC week in and week out. It's what we have always wanted. To get in the ring with the best. It's what the "we want Bama" chant was all about.

I don't see anyone willing to push back against these media giants. They have the deep pockets and control of the narrative. They have the power to destroy the remaining 3 conferences and the NCAA governing body itself. Go along to get along. That seems to be the mindset of these university presidents. They don't seem to have the will or nerve to fight back. As a result, the student athlete will die off. I think the only ones that have the power to stop this madness are the university presidents. But that requires them to get on the same page with conviction that even a gentleman hand shake is binding. Tried that, Not going to happen again.

Thoughtful and well written. Much of what you say is true. I can't help but think... the proud will be brought to heel. USC is stepping out on a ledge. My opinion is they will be crushed under their own pride. Many in their athletic department will suffer because of it. As I said, just one mans opinion. Will Oregon and the Pac respond? That remains to be seen. I don't have a lot of faith in the Pac leadership. I do have faith in Oregon leadership. I posted a rant on here and I believe what I said whole heartedly. New money or not, Oregon is built solid. USC doesn't have the power to bring them down. And their arrogant attempt will be a fail. USC cheated all of college football in the early 2000's. They got crushed for it. They are almost squared up. They turn around and do the entire Pac dirty with secret deals. USC will never win another National Championship.

I see it hit the LA market. Fitting.

Remember, the sun will rise again

As far as paying the bills goes, yea, football is all that matters. What is sad is that so many young disadvantaged men and women will lose their opportunity to get a college degree. Sport changes the trajectory of so many lives. Some student athletes pull themselves out of generational poverty and create generational wealth. Generational change that started with an athletic scholarship. These opportunities will be lost. Why? Greed and Power. Shame!

I saw some of the feed you are referring to. Looked like they were confusing UT with UU. I saw a lot of fear that they are getting blown out just as they were starting to see some success. In Blues they call that "paying your dues ". Can't really blame them. The LA schools and media heads did the rest of us dirty. Utes will be fine. Ducks will excel.

I think the UCLA insert was a typo. Assume meant Oregon but I could be wrong.
