How Dan Lanning Will Trim the Football Roster to 85
Pretty much spot on. I’ve been thinking for some time now that this kind of help you out the door thing has been going on for a bit. No one really knows for sure what goes on behind close doors but I am confident that the players that aren’t buying in have already been explained the situation. Some have probably been urged to step up or leave. Using Noah as an example. Didn’t look like his heart was fully engaged to me buy the way he was playing. The NFL was a logical move rather than transfer out. Actually I am surprised Dorlus is coming back. He seemed to be dogging it in the bowl game in the first half.

Good luck with that Charles.

Yikes: Brutal Draft Analysis of Noah Sewell
Disheartening to say the least. He had big trouble getting off blocks this year and I never could understand why. The linebacker Corp looked much better in the bowl game with Noah gone.

Possible Option for 5-Star Nyckoles Harbor Prospect
No question the guy has top end speed but he is pretty slow out of the blocks. I suppose college track coaches can improve starts with good results. Lewis and Bolt weren’t great starters either but their top end speed was something to behold. As far as football goes it would be nice to see him as a hybrid type linebacker who could either cover tight ends or chase down running QBs such as Williams at sc. Williams would not be able to loose this guy. One thing is for sure you cannot teach this guys athletic skills, speed, and intelligence. Go get him Dan.

Oregon Ducks Football: My Season Takeaways
Nice article Alex. One glaring issue for me was talent evaluation on the defensive side of the ball. No Question that MarinO recruited star power in our front seven but it obviously didn’t transfer to the field. Outside of Tibs, who wasn’t on the field as much as we would have liked, the production of that group was severely underwhelming. Not sure what happened to Noah but he seemed to regress from his freshman season, he was definitely slower. I caught myself feeling sorry for our DBs having to defend excellent wide receivers while talented QBs stood in the pocket forever, it seemed like, picking them apart. My confidence is high that DL will get the players he needs, which he is already addressing, to turn this defense into one that will be bragging about in years to come. Go🦆🦆🦆s

NCAA Committee Proposes Major Changes for Division I Sports, Including Bigger March Madness
Why does it take so long for this group to act? If you keep proposing things why not act on those proposals instead of getting walked on continually.

What Oregon Can Learn From the CFP
DL knows what it takes to make a good defense. He has seen it happen up close and personal. I have little doubt that once he weeds out the players that can’t make it happen we will see the best D in the pack spring to life.

Building Lanning’s Defense: Off-Season Problems to Fix
Hayward is correct that our defense has been underwhelming since Dye left. Even with all the star power MarinoD brought in we seemed to regress on D and Utah exposed it rather emphatically. I can’t imagine what Johnathan Smith might have done with that talent, he has built a solid D with far less. With the group we have coming in and a talent laden secondary we have in place I expect DL will make this defense quite adequate to contend for at least the pack 1? Championship. The addition of a consistent pass rush, however, is imperative.

Tulane - I Thank You...
Can you imagine both the la schools playing against Mich., OSU, and the rest playing defense like that. Could be entertainment at its finest. And I agree kick them to the curb now.

Oregon Ducks Football: Biggest Winners of the Holiday Bowl
Totally agree with the first 4 posts and how our linebacker group played and tackled very well. Bodes well for next year. I also thought our corners did an excellent job even though NCs QB was pretty sharp for most of the game. Played well and broke up passes without committing penalties.

one of the few games that our front seven made most of the tackles. A very good sign.

What’s up with our pass game. Dink and dunk. If your going to throw throw it down the field.

GameDay Thread for Holiday Bowl versus North Carolina: Join Us!
Not sure why they are making a 3 yard pass in the red zone with time running down when you are averaging over 25 yards a run play. Very confusing to me. Once again our pass defense is letting us down. Still got the second half to turn this around. They have a stud at QB that’s for sure. He is pitching dimes all over the field.

Oregon’s New Will Stein Offense: TemPro With the Pistol?
MarinoOs offensive sets weren’t the problem. Many teams have used pistol for some success in the past. However; MarinoOs conservative play calling is what killed the offense before the ball was even snapped. We all knew what was coming and so did the opponents. That’s what left the sour taste in our mouths. Any $200 DC could outsmart that. Just my opinion.
