  1. The problem with Boise State is that they pretty consistently have a very good football team. We've played them 5 times in the last 18 years with an average point differential of 7: 2008 - UO loss. BSU ends season ranked #11 2009 - UO loss. BSU ends season ranked #4 2017 - UO loss (because it was the Taggert year). BSU ends season ranked #22 2024 - UO wins. BSU ends season ranked #8 2026 - UO wins. My prediction is that BSU ends the season ranked Top-10. Those Broncos were tackling machines this past Saturday. I expect BSU to run the table through their regular season schedule and end up being ranked in the Top-10 again by the end of the season. Our 7-point win will only look better and better as the season progresses.
  2. Yikes! What a great reminder. That was just such a fabulous game. It was such a great game that I remember that me and Mrs Desert Duck watched the second half in a bar in Sedona.
  3. Excellent article. Thank you. If our O Line figures it out and can give DM a little time, we will be making a lot of teams pay with 25+ yard strikes downfield this season.
  4. Money & exposure are always good things... but not so wonderful unless you win. Hopefully, in the next few days, our defense can figure it out, and our O line can protect DM better. And I'm still betting that BSU is a Top-15 team.
  5. "To the fan, does the start time really matter?" As a fan, of course I couldn't care less what time the game starts. But I'm not the one down on the field playing football. And I could be making a issue out of a molehill. Perhaps a 9:00 AM body clock start time doesn't impact players. But I remember the last year when we had a 9:00 AM start against an average at best Northwestern, and if I recall correctly, we struggled. I realize that is completely anecdotal, but I'm curious. When I get a little time, I'll do some research and look at teams over the last 10 years that played 1) On the road, 2) Games that started at 9 AM according to their body clock, and then I'll share the data.
  6. I'm guessing that this subject has been discussed at length, but does anyone know who the braintrust is who schedules these start times... and why a consistently Top-10 team tolerates it?
  7. That is one of the more spectacular screw jobs I have seen in quite some time.
  8. This guy is one dumb son of biscuit. "The same Boise State that two years ago arrived in Eugene for the season opener..." -- and he basically said that we sucked in that game. For some reason, this schmuck forgot to mention that BSU ended the 2024 season ranked #8 in the nation. Bottom-line is that I won't be remotely surprised if BSU ends up in the Top 10 again by the end of the season.
  9. In 2024, we played an unranked BSU team at home and beat them by what looked like, at the time, an embarrassing 3 points. By the end of the season, BSU finished ranked #8 in the nation. While we played less than stellar today, that BSU team we saw out there is the real deal. I'm guessing BSU might already actually be a Top-10 team, but once again, we just don't know it yet.
  10. We were ranked #2. BSU was ranked #28. How far do we fall, and how high will BSU rise?
  11. Dante is having a Heisman day. 28/37. 378 yards. 3 TDs.
  12. My only hope is that Boise State is actually a Top-5 team in disguise. Excellent edit, and I appreciate how you felt. But on that last drive, DM looked pretty great. His stat line so far looks excellent as well.
