My take from the article is that the resistance to the deal was not due to the stereotypical ‘business naivety" or "lack of innovation" of PAC-12 college presidents, but because of the opposition of USC to the deal. This opposition appears in retrospect to be based on USC not wanting to be contractually tied to the conference. As one person quoted said, "USC has had one foot out the door [of the conference] for the last 20 years."

Charles asked me to summarize the article so I’ll give it a shot. The article looks at the strength of Oregons offense, defense, and special teams. It also discusses the impact of Dan Lanning, overall saying it’s positive since Lanning and Cristobal have the same "bring the best of the SEC to Oregon" approach. The article also discussed how the team, in certain areas did not perform up to its talent, summarized by the graph I attached. Overall the writer says that if Oregon plays to its level of talent, Oregon should be competing for the PAC-?? championship (unlike last year).

Excellent discussion about the Ducks. Interesting how Cristobal’s Ducks consistently underperformed relative to their recruiting level. Behind paywall but I must have a few free views left. Oregon rallies around new coach, new starting QB and same mission THEATHLETIC.COM The Ducks didn’t reach their potential last season, and it's Lanning’s job now to keep the talent flowing in and to focus on...

Interesting if true. New Oregon QB commit Dante Moore declined NIL meetings, focused on other things in recruitment WWW.MLIVE.COM Moore also said the Michigan Wolverines were "very close" to landing him before ultimately choosing the Ducks.

Hint, hint?

LOL @Axel. Great fun!

The Sports Center logo has an “O” in it (camera lens)and the “More” tweet has disappeared, but yeah, lots of hinting of More good news on Coach D’s Twitter page.

Larry Munson was a great announcer. Pleasure listening to him.

And things have been thought out as well in advance....

He and Dante Moore seemed to have developed a strong connection.

Happy birthday and thank you for FishDuck!

Kliavkoff is working to protect the PAC-12. Whether that benefits Oregon or not is still an open question.

Here’s hoping this USC/UCLA-Big Ten merger careens off the track, crashes and burns | Jones WWW.PENNLIVE.COM The more I think about it, the more I hope this acquisition engineered by the bloodless weasels at FOX Sports derails and explodes.
