  1. There were simply too many "play it safe, Brock can't make that throw" calls the first three quarters. Though I don't think this is a great offensive line, when the QB is a threat to throw the ball down field and you have the receivers our Ducks have it opens up better lanes for running also. It's hard for the O-line to look any good at all when there is zero threat to stretch the field because the QB can't make that throw. A constant diet of bubble screens, five yard outs and flair passes allows the defense to d exactly what Nebraska did early last night, throw 7-9 players in the box to stop the run and dare you t win on Brock Thomas' arm. Oregon didn't take the dare.
  2. Thomas can be a good back up QB when he is playing with an O-line that's going to make holes for running backs and set up play action to get receivers open enough for him to hit them. I agree with you totally he is in over his head vs. top 25 or close to that competition. Even with his performance vs UCLA, I'd go with Raiola and then Smith. The likelihood of this team making the play offs now is slim and these guys need to be ready to be #s 1 and 2 next year. I also think we have a better chance of winning this year with them.
  3. I'll miss watching this one live again! Poo! Go Ducks, get this train back on the right track!
  4. This season is disappointing, absolutely. Yet, the Ducks have lost twice, once to a team that lost their first game and hasn't lost since (currently ranked 18) and the other undefeated (currently ranked #12). My Saturdays have been totally jammed so I haven't seen a game live yet, but watching the replays we have lost the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball more than we have won it. We looked like we could beat anyone in the country vs USC, then we turned it over 7 times vs UCLA. SEVEN times, I'm still trying to get my head around that. Yet, we lost by 2 points. I don't think the O-line is going to be great, but if they can get up to okay the offense has enough weapons to score a lot of points. I haven't given up hope for this years version of the Ducks yet, there is a lot going wrong that's fixable, but there's no time to waste.
  5. Ducks 31-21 2 Turnovers 2 sacks 305 passing yards
  6. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  7. When I saw some fans saying it was time to have Raiola start over Moore after the PSU game, I said hold on. He was 11-11 against reserves for a very bad team. I'm not impressed. Well Raiola just impressed me! When Dante gets back he might be a Heisman candidate reserve QB. Raiola made the offense click. Period.
  8. Ahhh... please no. He's the perfect fit for SC all Hollywood glitz, no substance.
  9. I know SC has a lot of money available, but how do you spend that much on a coach and have plenty left for great players in the NIL era?
  10. True enough, but I wouldn't call Oklahoma State elite either. Though Boise wasn't a "good win" in terms of we probably should have beaten them by two or three touch downs, Boise has a good chance to run the table on the rest of their schedule. OSU is one of those "majority" of opponents you should beat with average coaching. No one is taking about them as a possible conference champ and definitely not a play off contender. Maybe they're better than most people thought. Though I've been unable to watch either game live, replays show me a team getting beaten consistently on the line of scrimage on both sides of the ball. I understand that with a less experienced O line than we're used to, but the defensive front was thought by many to be the best unit in college football. The number one stat that stuck out to me was Oregon zero QB sacks OSU three QB sacks. In the game today when you are not getting to the other team's QB and they are getting to yours you will struggle.
  11. Ducks win 41-14 4 TOs 3 sacks 240 passing yards
  12. 11-1 play offs win it all! 39 ppg offense 16 ppg defense Win NC 28-17
  13. A Duck football fan here, but a VCU Rams basketball fan. That said, the Ducks are talking with Terrence Hill Jr. a VCU player (from Portland) in the portal. We'd love to keep Terrence, but if he goes somewhere else I really hope it's Oregon. Oh, and don't sell Jayden Reid short (even at 5'10") he's a baller. If you get him, you'll love watching him play.
  14. Yeah, I don't care what the guy looks like if he does the work and becomes a great player for OBD. Looks like the timing will be for him to be ready for back up duty this coming year and maybe ready to start next year. That's a long time from now and a lot can happen. Glad he wants to be a Duck.
  15. The first play of the Indiana game is a perfect example of this. Everyone in the stadium knew it would be a short pass, probably a quick out and the Indiana corner sat on that. result pick six. We need more than nickel and diming to beat good teams like Indiana. As for next year, the players are certainly there to compete for the NC. Running back, receiver, tight end rooms are big time talented. The O line will be strong, how strong? Defensively it looks like we will be solid at every position, and great at some. How will other teams also try to improve, what will the schedule look like (is that out now?)? Ah found it. Big 10 schedule is not kind, at USC, at Illinois, at Ohio St. at Michigan St. Still, all of these games are winnable and we only lost to Indiana this past year and we are not playing them. Will we be more aggressive on offense? Will we figure out some of the pass rush packages that drove us crazy in some games? 11-1, 8-1 conference, in conference championship game and play offs. A bye in playoffs if we win the Conference Championship game. In the playoffs anything can happen, including the Ducks winning it all. Here's hoping.
