  1. Online entertainment is kind of an outdated term. Everything is online. A game broadcast on Foxsports is also streaming on their app. Demand for sports has risen because it's one of the few entertainment options that's not scripted and the demand to view live entertainment as opposed to on-demand still remains. That's why the broadcast right's have been going up every time right's negotiation's come up. Provider's want the live entertainment because advertiser's value those broadcast's over non live which are usually watched on demand. They'll keep going up every few years as more and more entertainment moved towards on demand. Live Sports will continue to corner the broadcast market.
  2. That wasn't a problem in Columbus last year with a 9AM west coast kick-off.
  3. The truth is that Oregon will never recruit consistently at the clip Georgia does. No amount of NIL money or facilities upgrades can makeup for a lack of talent on the west coast that the southeast has in abundance. Georgia can put as may DL in one draft as Oregon has in a decade. Unless a large number of young blue chip country fed lineman start moving west of the rockies this issue will remain.
  4. Oregon 30-27 Georgia. 2 TO 4 sacks 315 passing yards
  5. Frost is statistically now one of the worst decision makers in college football. He advertises his faults to opposing coaches and just repeats them over and over. Nebraska should have fired him last year. I wonder if he's still seeing that Oregon cheerleader or if he's moved on to another young college girl.
  6. Chip was the ultimate lockdown coach when it came to information and access. I could be wrong but I remember the week leading up to the loss to Barkley and USC in 2011, Fentress or Jude or Grife was able to see a tenth of the practice field from a stair case that was a blind spot that hadn't been covered up yet and Chip spent all week being upset about it.
  7. Oregon 30 Georgia 27
  8. I think Washington will play a factor in the game. During his recruitment I was hoping Cristobal could reel him in.
  9. Lanning was never going to come out and say one QB is the leader. Competition is everything.
  10. The kid picked Alabama because they've produced the most NFL draft picks over the last decade. Smart decision for himself.
  11. The discussion on Miami happened immediately after the Ohio State game. Herbstreit even asked Mario directly about Miami being a possibility a week after. Mario told him essentially there's nothing to add to that as of right now but maybe later. These deals always get started earlier than anyone or the media suspects.
  12. Kid was from Florida. He went to Alabama. Was always going to be a tough pull to get him to Eugene. Not surprised.
  13. I was there. Businesses were full. Had a great time.
  14. The guy had an opportunity to return home and help resurrect his Alma mater as well as get paid very well. I would never hold a grudge against anyone in life who makes a choice to pursue that. I never took it personal. I've had an employer try to shame me for leaving and taking a better opportunity overseas. Best decision I ever made professionally.
  15. Private Equity is not "sketchy". It's another method of investment and many companies products that people enjoy to this day survived because of P.E.
  16. Oregon isn't going to settle for the Big12 or ACC. Oregon is BIG10 Bound. All financial losses from the 2020 Covid year will be wiped out in year one of joining them. It's happening. Just be ready for the whining from the local media river rat contingent. 😏
  17. Putting on my conspiracy theory hat. I think ND was always the main objective of this. They wanted to get them before the SEC makes an offer. Getting USC would be the final move to convince them to give up independence and join.
  18. I think once Notre Dame makes a decision more dominos will fall. The Irish capitulate and join the Big10. Then Oregon, Stanford and Washington join. Stanford joining allows ND to maintain that series as well as adding the bay area market and Oregon Washington seals off the rest of the West Coast for the Big10. SEC then makes a move for Clemson, Miami, Florida State & North Carolina. I don't think the Big10 will give ND more money than the rest but they will allow them to maintain the Michigan, USC & Stanford series annually to appease them for giving up independence. joining makes them a helluva lot more money than the NBC deal.
  19. Adapt or die. Oregon & Washington to the Big10 in the works.
  20. Might have been time for a new voice leading the program. 2016/17 keeps getting farther behind. Plus the news about the fat shaming weight watchers may have led some athletes into a mental health tailspin. No coach is immune from losing their job. The moment fans and an organization's leaders start ignoring the red flags because of a built in devotion towards a winning coach is when they get in serious trouble like we have seen with other programs.
  21. The PGA operates as a non-profit for taxes. Once they learned of LIV's plans, they leaked all the Phil info to Alan Shipnuck who is very well connected with the PGA Executives. They knew their business monopoly was going to be threatened. LIV is offering $2 million guaranteed for last place. The PGA doesn’t give anything because they are not allowed to because of their tax status. Easy choice when thinking of what's best for your family’s future.
