July 8Jul 8 Moderator No. If you have time on your hands, here's ESPN's Bill Connolly's take on 138 FBS football teams. How about the P4 saying goodbye to the G6 with the G6 having a playoff of its own? The next time UTEP will challenge the P4 for a playoff title? In this version of the multiverse, how about never? Ditto our friends in the Pac 8 + Gonzo.https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/49287901/bill-connelly-2026-fbs-college-football-conference-previewsIf you read this article cover to cover, you may want to consider getting a life.Except for the Boise take, this CFB junkie passed on the Groveling Group of 6.
July 8Jul 8 No. The G6 could play for the NCAA championship in football, seeing as currently there isn't one.Btw, the Pac(St)eight should be called the Pac Ain't
July 9Jul 9 No. “Pac-12 begins play with six new teams, a fun flex-week idea…”Huh? It’s my understanding that final week “flex game” is considered non-conference for standings.Tentative opponents would include OSU at WSU so that both would have 4 Pac home games. Unless one of those two needs to play a different opponent to burnish their record for a potential CFP slot.Likely a 9th football member won’t be added until 2028 season which theoretically OSU vs WSU could happen 6 times from 2025-27.And, what if OSU goes 7-0 then loses to WSU, while Cougs go 6-1 then beat OSU? Does that mean the two play again in the conference championship? 7 games in 3 seasons?Brings a whole new meaning to marrying your cousin in Corvallis.
