I Respect Boise State. I Never Wanna See Them Again.
I do think there is probably a motivation issue that Oregon has difficulty matching. What other opponents on the BSU 2026 schedule will have the motivation that the Broncos bring to the Oregon game? Perhaps Memphis but down a notch? Now consider what games on the Oregon schedule will the Ducks have motivation for an all-out effort? There are at a minimum 4 games. Despite the close games with BSU, or no matter the respect Oregon professes to have for BSU, I think it is just hard to crank it up at the level that BSU cranks it up for Oregon.

Why the 9:00 AM PST Start Time vs. Oklahoma State?
"Games that started at 9 AM according to their body clock, and then I'll share the data." The one most Ducks fans remember is 9:00 am, at Ohio State, in 2021. Columbus is in the Eastern Time zone and it was the Fox Big Noon game.

Marsh Duck - Quick Quacks Oregon v Boise State
"...enough to be the G6 champ." That Sept. 26 game when Boise State visits Western Michigan could be interesting. If you were the CFP Committee today, what would you consider a better performance? BSU at Oregon? Or, W. Michigan losing at Michigan on the plus-one second? W. Michigan is defending MAC Champ. You might say the MAC is a weaker conference, but if WMU beats Boise State... Though, BSU seems to "get up" for consequential games. I think that is something a lot of fans overlook with BSU. How many games per season do they have to dial up the emotion, as compared to Power4 teams?

Apple Cup
"....Memphis at Boise State could decide the G6 representative..." Here's something to contemplate: We all know W. Michigan lost at Michigan yesterday (or, perhaps they didn't) but assume they go undefeated the rest of the season. They are the defending champions in the MAC from 2025. If the Playoff Committee looked at that potential single "loss" how would they rank them as G6 rep in comparison to others? Well, it turns out the Committee may be saved by the scheduling Gods. Because W. Michigan hosts Boise State in a non-conference game the last Saturday of September. It will be Broncos vs Broncos on Sep. 26.

GameDay Thread: Oregon vs. Boise State....JOIN US!
If you can't make a short fourth down by ramming it down their throats up the middle, why does Lanning insist on trying fourth downs?

Congrats on the progress Charles. Personally, I'm missing at Autzen today also. Back issue. Getting old is a Jerk.

BSU Team Arrival Delayed on Friday
Team buses arrived at Eugene hotel at 8:56 p.m.

BSU Team Arrival Delayed on Friday
The Oregonian: The flight was diverted to Portland due to heavy rains around the Eugene Airport, which is undergoing construction on its larger (wider?), West runway.

BSU Team Arrival Delayed on Friday
Buses departed PDX around 6:45 pm. So, 9:00 pm still the estimate...but it if Friday traffic.

BSU Team Arrival Delayed on Friday
Apparently, the flight left Boise about 2:23 MT and was scheduled to arrive in Eugene approx 2:30 PT. The flight did not land. There was rain in Eugene at that time and the Sun Country charter flight pilots circled Eugene waiting for a weather break. After a period of time, they decided to divert to Portland. The flight landed in Portland, but rather than attempt to fly back to Eugene a decision was made to bus to Eugene on Friday evening. But, the contracted buses were in Eugene. So, the team waited in Portland for the buses to arrive. Last estimate I read would put the team in Eugene sometime around 9:00 pm or a bit thereafter. All my notes are based on a BSU beat writer's Twitter/X account.

Ten Power4 Opponents?
On3 had notes from Ross Dellenger and Andy Staples on the topic of ten Power 4 opponents yesterday. Dellenger reported that Commissioner Sankey said he wouldn't consider a 24-team playoff without ten Power4 opponents. Commissioner Pettiti told Andy Staples he would support if if it got Sankey to back a 24-team Playoff. In the 2026 season, the SEC now has 9 conference games per program, and also each of the 16 teams have a 10th opponent who is from the ACC, Big12 or Big Ten. The Big Ten's 18 programs have 5 this season without a Power4 tenth opponent: Indiana, Penn St, Nebraska, USC and Washington. Oregon has a tenth opponent via their trip to Oklahoma State. But, currently, the schedule in 2027, 2028, 2029 does not include a 10th Power4 opponent. Schedules beyond 2029 aren't fully built.

Austin Novosad Named Back-Up At Bowling Green
Bowling Green? I recall that Novosad was looking for place where he had a high probability to start when he entered the portal. In addition to Baylor and Oregon, he held offers from Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rice, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNLV, and Vanderbilt. Novosad was rated the 13th-best quarterback by 247Sports in the class of 2023 and the 12th-best pocket passer quarterback by ESPN, earning a 4-star designation by the majority of outlets. Perhaps he knew Dante Moore intended to announce he was returning for another season.

Stunning Crowd for USC at the Coliseum...
"....it was 88 degrees and 60+% humidity in UVA's sold-out Scott Stadium" That's the point. USC defenders: it was hot, it was humid, it was SJSU, the beer was warm, the song girls wore leggings, it was.... If you are going to be a Top 25 fan base and compare yourselves to the rest of the Big Ten and the SEC, then you show up. If you want to rely on excuses, then maybe every home game should be Big Ten Network or Peacock and kickoff at 8:00 pm local.
