  1. "Corral the Cowboys..." That will be the first home game for Oklahoma State with their new coaching staff and a bunch of transfers including QB Drew Mestemaker. The Ducks better take along plenty of rope.
  2. I would probably replace Leinart with Steve Emtman if there is a limit on Pac players. I also knew Bronco Jr, son of the legend. Bush was a phenomenal player.
  3. Thanks. Those of us who are "sidewalk superintendents" but live too far away appreciate the post showing the progress.
  4. “Pac-12 begins play with six new teams, a fun flex-week idea…” Huh? It’s my understanding that final week “flex game” is considered non-conference for standings. Tentative opponents would include OSU at WSU so that both would have 4 Pac home games. Unless one of those two needs to play a different opponent to burnish their record for a potential CFP slot. Likely a 9th football member won’t be added until 2028 season which theoretically OSU vs WSU could happen 6 times from 2025-27. And, what if OSU goes 7-0 then loses to WSU, while Cougs go 6-1 then beat OSU? Does that mean the two play again in the conference championship? 7 games in 3 seasons? Brings a whole new meaning to marrying your cousin in Corvallis.
  5. An interesting piece (July 7) in The Athletic about the Oklahoma State rebuild....87 total new players. But, key ingredients transferred with the coach from North Texas including the nation's No. 1 passer last season. It will be the first home game for the new staff and players and they will not want to disappoint their fans. Parallels to Indiana and Colorado recent rebuilds. Interesting insights in the column about how Coach Morris has worked it. I recommend The Athletic for college football coverage. It has basically become the modern Sports Illustrated for those of us who can remember the halcyon days for SI. It was purchased by the NY Times so their writers often detour into political theatrics but generally speaking their college football writers avoid that, thankfully. And, you can subscribe/unsubscribe based on the college football calendar.
  6. Interesting to open that link and read the state that some are associated with. A lot of rural backgrounds. I probably would substitute Eaton for Prefontaine on the list. Or, 5A and 5B. Elizabeth Brenner? Anna Maria Lopez?
  7. Older brothers: https://rolltide.com/sports/football/roster/keon-sabb/17478 https://rolltide.com/sports/football/roster/amari-sabb/17419 the latter picked ‘bama on Feb. 3, 2026, over an offer from Oregon
  8. SEC programs have won 8 of the last 9, and 7 of the 8 were different programs. (LSU twice) Oklahoma didn't raise its own bar until becoming an SEC member. Boy, talking about a team getting hot at the end of the season. Sooners were 11th in the SEC in regular season, lost their SEC Tournament opener, and had zero players named to All-SEC teams. Sure provides Sankey with the narrative for continuation of multiple SEC teams in the baseball playoffs. Just wish they had to prove it a bit more with fewer home regionals and home super regionals. Though, the Sooners won both of theirs on the road. Beavis was the last non-SEC team to win.
  9. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-declines-brendan-sorsby-supplemental-draft-application/ Not sure he can go elsewhere? The UFL league begins play March 2027. The CFL is May 2027. Neither give him much opportunity in comparison to the regular 2027 NFL draft which is in April.
  10. It is interesting how the PGA makes the daily adjustments in watering and grass length, and whether individual players can adjust to those changes. Along with time of tee-time affecting conditions individuals face. Aside from game time temperature for football, soccer, tennis, I'm not sure another sport throws the amount of variation at players as professional golf does?
  11. · The Masters: T-21 (2026) · PGA Championship: T-50 (2025) · U.S. Open: Won (2023 and 2026) · The Open Championship: T-4 (2025) Last season at Oregon: 2017 Wins by 1 stroke today after holding a 6 stroke lead at the start of the day. Burns made a run, and Clark dropped 3 strokes on the day.
  12. Walden's photo. Michigan State road uni for Nov. 20? Though Sep. 26 at USC has a fan "wear white" designation.
  13. 2027 verbal commits from California 2 of 19 – Oregon 5 of 18 - UW 9 of 14 – USC 12 of 22 – UCLA 14 of 22 – Cal 4 of 11 - ASU Something to monitor, I suppose. Not every coaching staff can recruit nationally, and if something happened to the Lanning era, would the next staff be able to redevelop high school contacts in Cali?

  15. Well in 2027 when the Ducks are at The Big House, hope Guerrant is on the Oregon roster instead of living in a dorm 50 miles from his home near Detroit.
