UW with a winning season this year?

While little can compare to the fun of Washington's 0-12 season in 2008, even 5-7 would be enjoyable.

  • The Huskies are 3- 2, with their three wins against non-conference cupcakes, including a 16-14 win at home against Utah State. Their loss at USC might have been their best-played game of the year so far.

  • Looking ahead on their schedule, they have Iowa, Oregon, and Indiana still on the schedule. An improved Nebraska team on the road is not a gimme. They should be underdogs in those games. They should be favored at Purdue and Michigan State, but Purdue has improved a bit.

  • The Husky run offense is currently hampered by its three top running backs out with injuries. Had even one been available, they likely would have beaten USC. As they become available, I assume their run offense will improve.

  • Here is a summary of their unenviable situation at running back:

  • AI Overview: University of Washington running backs Quaid Carr and Jayden Limar are sidelined until at least November 1, 2026, with potential for longer or late-season absences. Head coach Jedd Fisch announced that the top running backs will not be re-evaluated until November 1, keeping them out for multiple key games. .500 team at best. Especially poetic given their QB’s off-season situation.
