Brock Thomas Is Why I Love College Football
I agree with your title and what I hate is waiting for so freaking long to see a change. I really thought Lanning was going to stick with DR and three more picks. I was really hoping for OT and part of that was to let Brock get his moment in the sun.

The Hype Train Departure Begins
More worried about the portal departure train. Lanning has some serious decisions to make in a hurry around Dec. 1st to rebuild a staff and keep the recruiting class...as well as the existing talent, and figure out the portal needs. The biggest problem has clearly been coaching and schemes.

The Winner of the Prediction Contest was Easy to Determine....
FG Lumber was the only one to pick UCLA, so he wins. Thanks to all for being a part of it, and it will get more fun in future games! Congrats to FG Lumber!

The Hype Train Departure Begins
Coach (I use that title lightly) Meh' should be cleaning out his locker as we speak. I didn't read the article, but whatever they said didn't go far enough. #FireCoachMeh'

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
Do the math. There are five O line players and 11 on defense. This year, it seems that every run play the Ducks run, all 11 defenders are going after the RB. Not only has the O line players changed, but so has the OC. It is hard as a fan to tell what is the problem: scheme and play calling or the linemen. I agree with you on World, Harkey, and Pregnon. They were beasts. But as these games go by, I am more and more thinking that the offense is 'stale' and the opposing coaching staff already knows what the plays are. If you could have brought those three players back for this game, would it have made a difference? I can't really answer that question. But my best guess would be: Oregon would have won, but barely and it would not have looked good.

The Hype Train Departure Begins
I am a fan of coaches that take good talent and make it great talent and win games--not so much of the opposite But all teams eventually lose at some point.

Nope. Go Ducks. Get right and get the next one.

Three items: 1) Keep it clean. We've been this way all along, and we're not changing now. You can write your displeasure without curse words and profanity. 2) Don't get personal with the coaches and players. Now discussing poor player performance or coaching is fine--always has been. 3) Be a loyal fan....not a bandwagon fan. What we are going through...every team has gone through. 4) Don't vent on us. Tell us your negative thoughts, but after a few times--we got it. Beyond that should be on a therapist's couch, not here. And don't bug out from the forum; we have so many good people here--stay connected and share your thoughts. My thanks, Charles

Brock Thomas Is Why I Love College Football
I think Brock Thomas has earned the start against Nebraska

I had been sort of planning for how I would watch the next 4 games in the midst of anniversary travel plans and family gatherings. Now I'm not.

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
Yes. That’s what I was thinking. The TCU game where VA got hurt and Lockie played the second half. The offense couldn’t even snap the ball consistently the rest of that game.

The Hype Train Departure Begins
CBS Sports just posted this article: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/oregon-college-football-biggest-disappointment/ While I believe calling a team "the biggest disappointment" seems very harsh, I will say that the team has not lived up to "expectations". And therein is the issue: "expectations". The expectation was that even with the departures of Lupoi and Stein, that OBD would hit the ground running without missing a beat. Turns out, replacing good guys is a challenge and the success you may have had last year isn't and automatic translation to the next year. I am guilty of projecting that success. One bad game can be considered an abberation. Two bad games, the UCLA game being historically bad, with little improvement is an indication that there are bigger issues Time will tell if OBD are indeed the "biggest disappointment" of this year.

Maybe. That was an utter disaster. If I was Moore, I would declare and not risk my health in another game. Not for this leadership.

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
That is a pertinent question, Oregon Ducks. When World was hurt last year and Crader took his place against USC, Crader appeared to be a competent left tackle, that is, a good pass protector but not a road grader in the run game. I assumed he would step in as left tackle this year, but another player was named starter and Crader was put at right tackle. This surprised me, but I was inclined to give Coach Terry the benefit of the doubt based on his track record. I am beginning to wonder whether Coach Terry evaluated his talent accurately. At some point in the second half, I thought they moved Crader to left tackle and inserted Gernorris Wilson at right tackle. I thought the line play improved, but maybe it was just Brock Thomas's appearance. At the guard spots, Iuli is a good pass protector but has never been a road grader. They tried a number of players at left guard, including Tofi at one point. I don't know whether Utu is healthy. We miss Pregnon.

We Stink.....
When you call a run on the first 3rd down of the game, with 9 defenders in the box, you know it is going to be a long game. All the games of short passes, and very few called to try and get Raiola on track. WTH?

Worst Offensive Performance Since?
This game was a lot like the one Jeff Lockie played in. I think it was that bowl game where the Ducks were way up and blew it? (Just going by memory, so I could be wrong)

Good Point! Now I have three weeks to forget about it and enjoy my Halloween. Meanwhile, I am going to try to NOT think about Oregon turning into Clemson.

Still a fan, ALWAYS will be. Just tells me that my expectations need to be adjusted.

Coach Lanning says that the game is won or lost at the line of scrimmage. How in the heck did Oregon end up with this bad of an offensive line?

Doesn't change my fandom but it does change my perception of what our team really is now

No, just adds another frustration to a long line of them. I'll keep coming back until the only thing I see is the inside roof of my coffin.

Purple Mutts Getting Their Nose Shoved In It At Home
I am not going to bag on Washington being bad. I don't want to be like a Beaver fan who gets pleasure out of the Ducks losing when his team is sucking the bottom of the gutter.

At least I don’t have to wait until the playoffs to have my hopes destroyed again…
