George Wrightster’s Instant UCLA Game Reaction
Having just now come out of my post game funk, I realize that yes, we played poorly, offense was non existent, 7 turnovers were atrocious, line and qb play were pathetic, but at the end of the game, we were still right there in the game thanks to the defense. We had a qb showing a little spark of momentum, down at the 1 1/2 yd line for a 2 pt conversion and a tie. If the refs had placed the ball on the 1/2 yd line correctly, the play would have been successful and we'd be playing in overtime. Who knows how that would have ended. Win or lose, we would still have the same complaints about the line, the qb play, the offense, and the play calling, but 4-1 vs 3-2 record would have felt a lot better. .

LSU and Ole Miss
Both quarterbacks were incredibly dynamic .

Week 3 CFB
Oklahoma State is smoking Murray State at the half 31-0 . Mestemaker is 17 for 19, 266 yards, 4 TDs, plus 122 yards on the ground for the team. Hope Boise State is dominant as well tonight. Can only help to make Oregon look better.

The Sick Feeling: 'We're Not As Good As I Hoped.....'
We've got two jumbo size freshman linemen that should get a chance against PSU. Maybe they're hungary to play, and should get a shot.

Is This a Fair Assessment of Dan Lanning?
This is the same that we thought of Mario C. when he was here. But he seems to have remedied that problem at Miami, mostly by getting out of his coordinators way. Lanning has had significant success since arriving, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. The first two games last year were sub par performances just as this year, but the competition was weaker, so we won.

Prediction Contest vs. Oklahoma State: Join Us!
34-20 Ducks win 1 turnover 3 sacks 256 yards of passing I don't see Oregon getting all their problems solved yet with 3 hard days of practice. Hope I'm wrong.

Oregon Football: Grading the Dylan Raiola Transfer
I'm looking at this as the best Lanning could do under the circumstances. Not knowing what Moore is going to do, with the transfer of two backups, leaving basically just Smith and Beaver, he had to get somebody. With a bidding war for Leavitt going on, Raiola was the next best option. It didn't seem to me like there were a lot of good options in this transfer class, and a lot of schools were, and are looking for a plug in quarterback. I'm actually surprised Lanning was able to get him with the uncertainty of Moore.

Beavis Can't Sink Any Lower....Right? WRONG.
I remember as a kid how pathetic Oregon was for so many years. In 1962, with Cas as coach, and Bob Berry as QB for 3 years, we were on a 3 year winning streak, a trip and win at the Sun Bowl over SMU in 1963. Then another very long dry spell before the Indepenent bowl decades later. We were pathetic, and I think any unexpected win brought a lot of over the top excitement to fans. That was a different Oregon than the one from 25 years ago to now. I'll always remember those old days, and appreciate greatly what we have now. An 8-4 season then would have been glorious, now it's a disaster. Though i'm not fond of the Beavers, I'll give their fans a break for celebrating a win, even a minor one.

The Quarterback Conspiracy Theory or I am So Confused.
Lanning discussed this a little bit. It appears Thomas earned the playing time. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2025/10/20/oregon-football-dan-lanning-austin-novosad-luke-moga/86803401007/

Oregon Football: Where Does Dan Lanning Rank Today?
Thanks for an awesome history of Oregon football and their coaches. I, too, go back to watching Cas's teams with Bob Berry. We'd listen to the games on a scratchy radio station in Eastern Washington when we couldn't get tv. It's been a fun ride.

“Bucky! Bucky! Bucky!“
I addition, Nix, Herbert , and Mariota all had great days today. All three lead their teams to wins, and all three are in the playoffs. Bo had a record completion game for a Broncowith only three incompletions. All three played a flawless game.

Duck QB Signee Sagapolutele to Enter Transfer Portal
Maybe after a couple years at Cal or ?, he'll get developed into the quality QB he already appears to think he is, and will want to transfer to a CFP team. Lanning can always keep the relationship open just in case. But he does appear to have an it's all about me attitude at present.

So, What About Tosh Lupoi?
I think it's important to remember what Oregon accomplished this year, 13-0 with a conference championship against very good competition. No other team did that. Granted, the defense didn't look sharp the last two games, but those two teams, and especially Ohio State may likely be the two best teams in the country. In addition, OSU was bent out of shape about their previous loss and had a serious chip on their shoulder. They may flatten Texas and likely Ga the same way. They were in top game form while we sat around for most of a month . Yes, we didn't look good, the game plan was suspect, but it was a pretty darn good season, and I trust Lanning, whose a very quick study, to make the defense better. He knows how good or bad Tosh is.
