Okay, Husky Honk, Let's Get Real
With former Duck Tyler Shough the QB at Louisville, married to a former Duck soccer player who grew up in Eugene, to have to pick between the Ducks connection or the Big Ten desire to win connection....is there really a choice?

It's Set, Oregon Plays the Winner of Tennessee at Ohio State and SMU Gets in!
If Oregon had lost, would it have been better? Probably would have been the 5 seed and Texas would have been 6. Appears that in either case, a more favorable matchup than getting OSU vs Tennessee. vs Oregon 8-Ohio St (6) 9-Tennesse (7) vs ASU 5-Texas (3) 12-Clemson (16) vs BSU 6-Penn St (4) 11- SMU (10) vs Georgia 7-Notre Dame (5) 10-Indiana (8)

Post- B1G Championship Game Discussion
Pace of play, and size of receiver core for PSU, caused the Ducks a lot of problems. Even when the receivers weren't targeted, they pulled defensive attention. Remember when 6-4 Juwan Johnson transferred from PSU to UO? When he was with the Ducks he was a handful for opposing DBs.

Post- B1G Championship Game Discussion
This year's Joe Moore Award for offensive line semi-finalists: #9 Alabama, #16 Army, #5 Indiana, Iowa, #8 Notre Dame, #2 Ohio State, #1 Oregon, #6 Tennessee, #3 Texas, and #25 Tulane*. It appears there may be one missing from the list?

Bye Bye Bama!
If there are 4 B1G teams: Oregon, Penn St, Indiana, Ohio St.... then I will find it hard to believe the SEC gets 3.

We Just Beat Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State in the Same Season
The 2015 Michigan State team was the last to beat Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State in the same season. By the way, they also beat Oregon that season. Their season ended with a loss to Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.

Beating No. 3 Penn State was a much different feeling than beating FCS Idaho for me. By the way, Idaho won their FCS Playoff opener tonight and will next play No. 1 Montana State

PSU's pace and receiver size have presented adjustment problems for Coach Tosh- Who Should be Ranked Higher, ASU or Boise State?
BSU is 11-1, ASU is 10-2. ASU lost a game at Cincinnati when QB Leavitt was not able to play. ASU 48-7 vs Wyoming early before ASU "jelled" BSU 17-13 at Wyoming near end of season. If the Committee awards SEC teams for strength of schedule then they should also award ASU.- GameDay Discussion of Big-12 Championship Game!
ASU almost tasting the Big12 Championship. What many of us have wondered over the years is why ASU with the climate of Tempe, the high school players in Arizona, the size of the school, the eye candy on the streets for football recruits, the Mill St Friday night, was not a major player in the Pac that it was in the WAC? It was just unfathomable. Dilly's team now leads 38-10 in the third quarter. Is the answer as simple as "Dilly?"- GameDay Discussion of Big-12 Championship Game!

Would they go looking in the NFL? Mike Vrabel was born in Ohio, raised in Ohio, played at Ohio State. Been a head coach in the NFL, but never in college.- What Should SMU Do?
That CBSsports.com story link above takes a shot at teams like Texas, Oregon, SMU who didn't play "everybody" because of conference expansion. So, it made it "easier" to be near the top of the conference so quickly. Well, in the SEC with 8 games, and how they structure, it has always been that way. Oregon? Since the first year of a conference championship game in 2011, there are the six teams with be best record: Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Michigan State. After the game in Indianapolis the Ducks will have played 5 of the 6. Maybe they weren't all great this season, but they are historically the best W-L. Of the 5, Ducks had two at home, two on the road, and 1 three time zones away "neutral."- Penn State Coach Sounds Like a Husky Honk!
Franklin re: Oregon's tremendous resources.... Uh, despite Franklin’s insinuations, NCAA financial data tells a different story. According to the latest report, Penn State outpaces Oregon in NIL funding and ticket sales. Penn State’s NIL collective generated $13.7 million, ranking 11th among FBS programs, while Oregon ranked 20th with $10.6 million. Additionally, the Nittany Lions earned over $44 million in ticket sales, nearly double the Ducks’ $25 million. Franklin’s narrative seems disconnected from these facts.- The Rivalry Game Needs A Name!
Northwest Rendezvous In North American history, a rendezvous was a larger meeting held typically once per year in the wilderness. All types included a major transfer of furs and goods to be traded for furs. Variations included a mix of other types of trading, business transactions, business meetings, and revelry. Fur trappers, mountain men, traders, frontiersmen, harlots, Native Americans, pioneers, explorers, wives, scouts, whisky merchants "Mirth, songs, dancing, shouting, trading, running, jumping, singing, racing, target-shooting, yarns, frolic, with all sorts of extravagances that white men or Native Americans could invent." The whole thing sounds like a tailgate.- The Rivalry Game Needs A Name!

Nebraska at Iowa. Due to injuries, I think Iowa is playing their No. 4 QB who is a walk-on. No. 5 was a defensive back prior to last week. Just goes to show that depth while recognized as necessary is often undervalued by many college football fans. "Why do we have 5 QBs, they can't be happy.
