  1. That first game of the season is going to be brutal. As if it wasn't tough enough playing Georgia...but integrating brand new offensive and defensive philosophies as well as a slew of new coaches at the same time? Ouch. Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic 🙂 The timing for next season's pre-conference schedule is just awful for a regime change...
  2. I'd even tolerate the occasional dumb quote from him (as long as it's not horribly bad) as long as he generally behaved well and won games.
  3. I feel like the unknown status of Coach McClendon contributed to him going to Michigan...if perhaps Lanning had already signed McClendon up to come back then maybe Clemons signs with Oregon.
  4. This one was important given that Jayson Jones is transferring.
  5. Hopefully he'll follow suit soon. They haven't really said they're a package deal, though it's kind of been implied. Tucker committing is a good nudge in the right direction for Oregon to get Florence too, though he might be waiting to see who Lanning hires for his potential position coach before committing.
  6. I don't know, this would a be a huge stretch. I love LaMike, one of the all time Oregon greats. But he hasn't even been a GA on a coaching staff...
  7. How is that? They play the same position and both are blue chip recruits, though Moss is higher ranked.
  8. Sounds like perhaps UW is not showing a lot of confidence in Huard taking over.
  9. I don't know anything about these guys, I'll be eager to read about any official profile articles that will come out about them.
  10. If Lanning flips Darris Smith, that might deter Cyrus Moss from considering Oregon.
  11. That's a downer, he has the size and potential to be a really good DT for Oregon. He should at least wait and see who is the DL coach before making a decision.
  12. Harrison Taggart will sign with Oregon tomorrow I like this kid. He's a faster linebacker than anyone Oregon currently has on the roster and would potentially help in coverage which was a significant weakness in this season's defense.
  13. This places a rather large importance on retaining as many of the best recruiters on the old staff as possible...McClendon, Mastro, also Salave'a. It would be great if Mirabal stays but I know that's highly unlikely.
  14. That's nice of them to do that. Now the question is going to be whether they'll all be able to focus on the bowl game since a lot of them are on other jobs now.
  15. I could see McGee becoming more of a slot receiver, I think he has the skills for it.
  16. The RB room is crowded, I was half expecting at least one back to transfer even if Mario hadn't left.
  17. Only if we want 2* recruit's at db. Rod Chance runs circles around Lake when it comes to recruiting.
  18. Hmm, this might mean that he won't retain Joe Salave'a? Joe's not quite as good as a recruiter as Lupoi but I think he's a better DL coach.
  19. Josh Pate is always interesting to listen to. He brings up some good points in how Mario structured and recruited the Oregon program, making is very inviting for SEC coaches looking for new digs. In theory it sounds like it makes it an easier situation for Dan Lanning to get started quickly.
  20. It's the same scenario as when Taggart left with less than two weeks before early signing and it took a few days before it was decided Mario would be the head coach. By that time a lot of recruits decommited but he was able to salvage a high ranking class (I think 13?). If Lanning can recover a top 15 recruiting class by the time the regular signing period ends, I'd consider that a huge success.
  21. I don't think you can really compare Utah to Alabama...
  22. I highly doubt Chip would take a step down to OC when he's still a HC. UCLA still wants him around after all.
