Say what you will about the coaching staff at Oregon, I wouldn't trade it for any other in the Pac-12. Of course that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement, which probably is part of being newest, in terms of continuity, in the conference. As far as the games go, I'd rather be facing Clay's Air Raid, then what Chip is putting together at UCLA. I'm sure that the Washington's have come up with some way to see that Oregon has received an advantage from when that game is scheduled, and games at Utah are usually interesting.

Replacing Anthony Lynn, who at times made Mario look aggressive on offense, was a franchise, and Herbert in particular, saving move. That's a lot of Ducks this weekend, hopefully the baseball team will start it off with a win. I'm hopeful that the softball team will understand how important it is to take the games against Portland State and Boise State as seriously as they did the games against UCLA and Utah. It is the opening weekend at "The Jane", and I expect high level performances.

I find it interesting so far as it determines where a particular player will play, I've become inured to the salaries themselves. The NBA in particular has so many rules, restrictions, conditions that must be followed, that trading a player (s) is incredibly complicated. We also have the relatively new concern of players creating "Super Teams". This originated when Lebron James made the "Decision" to "take his talents to South Beach". Ultimately, James, Wade and Bosch didn't win, "not 2, not 3, not, 4" championships, they only won two. Golden State put their dynasty together the old fashioned way, they drafted Curry, Thompson, Green, and appeared in 5 straight Finals, winning 3, they went 2-1 after Kevin Durant joined as a free agent. We'll see what Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden can do in Brooklyn.

This one could be interesting. Before the Pac-12 tournament, they were projected as a 4, OSU was double digit. The Ducks could fall to maybe a 6, and the Beavs could rise to maybe 8 or 9.

My Can't miss absolute lock, a little bit early pick of something of which I don't really care about: UCLA beats OSU for the championship.

Don't forget, "Eugene From Eugene" I see a Draymond Green, and E from E is a better shooter.

A great article, indeed, the contributions from players that don't show up in the box score are very often the difference between winning and losing, citing Lawson's effort as worthy of Player Of The Game, is completely justified. Last season he was mainly not a negative when he got in to a game. But lately, not only his defense which was huge in this game, he's also strung together great free throw shooting.

Typically when a team holds their opponent to five points in the first quarter, they'll win the game. But, if that team only scores 10, and then gives up a record 31 points in the 3rd quarter, now a loss is more likely.

I have to say that Bill offered much more useful commentary in this one than usual. I especially liked at the end when he compared this Ducks team to the first Bruins championship team, back in 1964. They won by never stopping, non-stop aggression, especially on defense, the other team becomes careless, Ducks pick up the turnovers, and it's done.

If only this had happened when Scott Frost was at Oregon!

I am in agreement on USC. I know that "Scoreboard" talks, and the Trojans did end up with more points in their games against AZ, ASU & UCLA, but it took a lot of fortuitous bouncing of balls to end up that way. Since Helton's been there, USC seems to win in spite of their head coach. Rather than creating a culture, imposing on the Coordinators, Helton appears to be an insignificant figurehead.
