The cynic in me says Herbie is pumping the crowd to watch Oregon and Stanford on ABC instead of Ole Miss and Alabama on CBS.

It's a conundrum for sure. The game at Ohio State has defined the season, but is not representative of the team. It's the outlier, in terms of effort and execution. The Stanford's were annoying with their commentary during the Arizona game. But they weren't saying anything different than what we've shared here; that this Oregon team isn't the one that beat Ohio State. This is how we come to truly appreciate what Saban has done at Alabama. Year after year they're hungry. It's actually more impressive with the talent at 'Bama that this is the case. Precisely. The one game where the Ducks dominated was the game that they had little chance of winning. It probably is easier to Get Up for Ohio State, then it is for Arizona. The Bruins got LSU at home, and lost to Fresno State at home. Meanwhile Oregon State stomped USC in LA. It was fun when UDud deserved to be No. 12, but the Cougars deserve it, maybe Arizona isn't all that bad? Generally Utah is better than they are showing, and Cal has started off fast and burned out in recent seasons. USC, famous for being famous, they are the Kardashian's of college football. ASU? They can burn anybody any week, but right in the middle is where I see them too.

The union of Cristobal and Morehead isn't the only thing that isn't clicking compared to the Ohio State game; from that mix of game plan, execution and attitude, the Ducks have delivered lackadaisical performances in the other 3. The defense, without KT, has a reason to not be as dominant, but something is definitely screwed up if Brown having more carries than does Verdell is the plan going forward.

Beavers all the way! It's disappointing but the Beavs seemed to have "wanted it more" when it came to the championship, an issue we discussed in an earlier topic. Now, the Beavs would not have gotten to the NCAA"s without the 'ship, and the Ducks were looking at two more games, and maybe a boost up to a 6, so maybe... I expect a much more focused effort against VCU, Altman said that he and the coaches had not seen hardly any tape of their games, so hopefully attention will be on high for the Ducks, and conversely, the Rams. FWIW, Jay Bilas, who is about as knowledgeable as ESPN gets, feels the Ducks can play with Iowa.
