  1. Any team that has offensive firepower and balance is a threat to OBD's..... The Duck D is really good, mean & aggressive. IMHO, it is not dominant. The Ducks have played 3 Top 10, CFP bound teams in 2024. The Duck D surrenderd 37 points snd 500+ yards to PSU, 31 to osu2 and 34 to BSU. Those 3 games weren't decided until late in the game. I expect all the CFP teams OBD's could potentially face to be a solid threat. But the greatest threat for OBD's is as always the Ducks themselves. Only the Ducks can beat the Ducks. Going to be a rollercoaster ride to the finish line. DG and the offense may need 45 plus points to win a nailbiter The D will need critical 3rd and 4th down stops to steal a win. They can do it.... GO DUCKS........
  2. For this Duck fan it matters not who we play or in what round we play any particular team. These are the CFP participants and OBD's has to beat 3 of them to bring home the top hardware. Is there some inequity in seedings and routes? Yes there is. This 12 team format rewarded certain spots better than others. All that matters is OBD's winning those 3 games. I expect osu2 and PSU to win their games. So the road was always going to be tough. Both teams can beat the Ducks! And the Ducks can beat both those teams no matter the round. Go Ducks....beat whoever you play. 13-0 is so special and this special group of players can beat everyone in tge CFP......
  3. In the history of the BIG, osu2, michigan and PSU have been beaten in the same season just 5 times...... Michigan State has done it 4 times and OBD's 1 time. GO DUCKS........
  4. OBD's for the win 38-10 2 - TO's 3 - Sacks 334 - Passing yards GO DUCKS.......
  5. PSU seemed to find their offense the last few games of the regular season. Albeit against weaker teams. At home the Niitany Lions could only muster 13 points against osu2. Their D held the Buckeyes to 20 or 21. So they can bring it on D. OBD's will be the most complete team PSU will have faced this season. They do not have the secondary speed to hold down the Ducks. They will need to hold the Duck O to under 20 points to win the game. OBD's Defense will be the baddest team the PSU offense will face in 2024. And I mean the baddest. The Ducks will stuff the run and without a WR who can take the top off the Ducks secondary, PSU will struggle for points. The Ducks can only beat themselves. Play clean and misyake free and OBD's will win by 17 plus. Go Ducks....bring hone the BIG CCG trophy.
  6. GT played one hec of a game and IMHO, they made a case for the ACC having 3 teams in the CFP. If Clemson beats the east coast USC then thay could further strengthen that case. A victory by Tigers could shut out a marginal SEC team from an invite. Glad that Georgia came away with the victory. Any Forum member who recorded the game for replay, on the late game fumble, could you look and see if the GT QB was hit helmet to helmet? The weakass ABC team showed only 1 replay. When they did show it everyone in this household was certain a personal foul for targeting would be called while being reviewed. While we all are Dawg fans, we were relieved at the no call. However.........if it happened where was the SEC booth review, wasnt Jesse Palmer an SEC college player? Wait who owns the SEC broadcasts? Would that be ABC/ESPN? Critical, game changing plays should be scrutinized. Showing it one time leaves more questions than answers. GO Ducks.....
  7. Ducks win 34-17 2 - TO's 3 - Sacks 262 - Passing yards GO Ducks
  8. Thanks Annie, that was a good read and shed some light on how Coach Lanning really feels about the huskies. Coach woody also offered some insightful comments on the up coming game. Go Ducks finish the regular season handing the huskies some well deserved payback!
  9. This game could easily be a trap game for OBD''s. Except its the arrogant, academically prowessed huskies. The puppies will bring their A plus game because this is their biggest game of the season. In their little confused minds they could claim anothet mythical Natty with an unlikely win over the #1 ranked Ducks It is time to end this 3 game losing skid. Take care of business, stomp the leg lifters and then begin preparation for whoever they face in tbe CCG. Go Ducks....Happy Thanksgiving to all.....
  10. David, this FishDuck Forum greyheard is thankful for the entire community that comes to this site to share. He birthed, nurtured, loved and protected his baby every step of the way. Well dpne and thank you Charles....... Go Ducks!
  11. Alex, thank you for providIng the Forum with this outstanding awards article. Simply superb! This old Duck agrees with you 100% on all your picks. And I cannot remember a time where OBD's defense had so many potential 1st roind draft picks playing at the same time. Especially at all levels. GO DUCKS........
  12. Yeah 30Duck is right on point. Leave it be for now. Unlike the SEC absolute poor sports who won't stop whining, tOSU whined about it for 2 weeks and have taken care of business ever sense. They want revenge against OBD's. And with a win over Michigan well thry will have earned that shot. Too many teams in the SEC and BIG 12 have not taken care of business. Pay the price....
  13. Indiana with just 1 loss could fall outside of the top twelve but unlikely.....probably 10 or 11. Depends on if the committee moves BSU, SMU and Clemson up. They are a good team that has taken care of business until they ventured into the Shoe. Their special team unit gifted the Buckeyes some easy points. No team can afford to give a elite team easy points. If Michigan upsets tOSU then the Hoosiers could find themselves back in the BIG CCG. The SEC Coaches and Honks should focus on winning on the field. You earn your way into the CFP. You can't talk your way in. So shut the hec up..... Alabama and Ole Miss should drop out of the top 12. Those were bad losses against unranked opponents. My top 12 for CFP would be: Oregon tOSU Texas PSU Georgia ND Miami SMU Indiana Tennessee Clemson ASU The SEC took a giant credibilty hit this weekend. They may have truly saved the Hoosiers chances. Go Ducks beat the huskies...
  14. I guess that's why they play the games. This foolish fan was so confident that the Tide would roll that i never gave the matchup a second thought....
  15. Clearly, to this point in the season, OBD's and tOSU are the 2 best teams in college football. However, The Dawgs and the Tide are really rounding into shape and IMHO, are on the heels of the BIG front runners. The Buckeyes are hungry for the rematch with the Ducks. Once they dispatch the Wolverines the stage will be set for the 2nd match of what should be a 3rd rubbermatch game. It is inevitable somewhere along the path to the Natty. Some on this forum may not agree with my next thoughts, however OBD's will not beat tOSU in the BIG CCG......especially if the offense plays like they did against Maryland and Wisconsin. Field goals, penalties and red zone lapses will not get it done against the Buckeyes. Not to mention the offense virtually disappearing in the 3rd quarter. No matter who the Ducks put on the field, that next man up must bring their A plus effort. Personally, I feel the break, rest and recovery will do wonders for the entire team. And the Ducks should open a large can of whoop arse on the huskies. Then carry that recharge and energy in the BIG CCG and into the CFP..... GO DUCKS......
  16. Sir Charles, as usual, you covered a number of key points and packed a great deal of thoughts to ponder. Well done! I so agree that all the 10 other players must execute at a high level in order for the Edge player to execute at a high level. Last year, the secondary was very good but not great. They could not lock down the darn huskies NFL caliber receivers. Injuries to key secondary players made it even nore difficult to cover. The 2024 secondary blanketed tOSU NFL receiver group to help with the victory. Uber talented transfers elevated the execition and depth. Nor could the 2023 front seven get to and contain Penix. Critical transfers have added interior strength, push and pressure. It appears that the Duck D is just stronger and quicker. Opposing QB's have their O Lineman shoved right in their face. Look st all the tip balls this year...... This power rush allows the Edge Rusher to cause chaos and havoc. As high level recruits watch on TV or from the sidelines on a visit, they can see themselves excelling in DL's defense. Especially at Edge.......with all the other positions filled with high 4 and 5 star players, well a uber talented, hard working Edge Rusher csm be showcased into a first round draft pick. The recruits DL and staff are recruiting want a shot at the NFL and this scheme allows all 11 position players to excel. GO DUCKS....
  17. For this Duck fan I ask myself these 2 questions when pondering if the Hoosiers can beat the Buckeyes.... Are the Ducks a better team than Indiana? Answer: Yes The Ducks have talent on both sides of the ball that will be playing in the NFL next year and beyond. The Ducks have been tested under fire. Coming from behind against BSU, tOSU and Whisky to pull out wins. OBD's have played and beaten 2-CFP worthy teams. IU gets that honor this weekend in the SHOE. Can the Ducks beat tOSU in a rematch? Toss-up game....they are that evenly matched. Injuries to key players may tip the scales. I feel that both the Ducks and Buckeyes are 10 point favorites against the Hoosiers. But anything can happen on that field. Thankfully they play the game.
  18. Darren, this team has the talent and depth to compete in and with the SEC beasts. However, based on how our OBD's have actually played this season??????. Including the injuries that the Ducks suffered thru out? Careless penalties? Red zone turnovers? Including 3rd quarter scoring droughts? Not playing a full 4 quarter game on offense. (Except against tOSU)? Lets say we had Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and Texas A&M at home and road games with MSU, Vandetbilt, Arkansas and Bama 6-2 at best! Maybe 5-3. No knock on DL and this awesome team...... However, the 2024 schedule allowed the Ducks to thrive on teams that could not really compete witb the Ducks.... Fortuneately, with thr new 12 team CFP format our Ducks get a chance to prove me wrong. OBD's have played 2 top 12 teams and came away with hard fought victories. We have 4 or 5 potential top 12 teams left to play to win the Natty. Chances are good we will have an SEC team or 2 and tOSU standing in our way....... If the team is healthy with all hands on deck, well I do like our chances. As long as DL, WS and DG put points on the board in the 3rd quarter. GO Ducks....make sure the huskies are a speed bump.
  19. Its best we win out. Leave nothing to chance. Then win the BIG CCG! It really doesnt matter if we play tOSU 3 times or Indiana/ BSU 2 times in the same year. We have to beat 3 or 4 of the top 12 teams in the land to bring home the Natty. Counting the BIG CCG then we have to beat 4 top teams. Finally OBD's gets their shot after 10 years to put it all on the line. What great exciting games for us fans....plus DL has assembled a team that has a fighting chance. GO DUCKS....handle the huskies.....
  20. Just my thoughts on the SEC and BIG.......and many won't agree with this useless post The SEC is undervalued but Texas is way overvalued. The way the Ducks are currently playing (especially the offense) I would not want to play Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss or Tennessee. Texas has no meat on their schedule to warrant a top 5 ranking. A full strength Duck squad with Tez, Burch and Harper healed and playing would put the Ducks in position to beat anyone. As of now, with pitiful second half scoring we would lose in a shootout. I firmly believe the Duck D would not allow a blowout. But that is a big task! Bama blew the doors off of Wisconsin and OBD's just got by for a hard fought win. The other 4 top SEC teams would also smoke the Badgers. The BIG is overvalued. Where are the big OOC wins? Their are 14 marginal teams in the BIG and the top 4 have feasted on that fact. Aside from OBD's win against the Buckeyes, we have no other top level, potential CFP victory! I know, what about Boise State? Well if BSU loses another game they will not be in the CFP. Power house high school level Army or Tulane could steal that 12th spot. tOSU has a top win against PSU. PSU has no big win and neither does Indiana. The BIG is playing on the CFP house money. Gaudy records but very little meat on the bone. Indiana has to play tOSU very tough or they could fall out of the Top 12. With 4 spots for ACC, Big 12, G5 and ND that leaves 8 spots. I agree with Jon Joseph that Indiana must play a tough game or win against the Buckeyes or the SEC may get 5 teams in the CFP. Go BSU, win out and strenthen OBD's SOS. Go Indiana, play tOSU tough or win. 2 undefeated teams playing for the BIG CCG will insure 4 BIG spots. Then let the CFP begin.. With the squad at full strength well i love OBD's chances. This years squad could end up as Oregon's best ever. Especially with a schedule break to recover. GO DUCKS....HEAL UP..... and open up a can of whoop arse on the huskies.
  21. Thank you Jordan for your article in the aftermath of OBD's hard fought road game victory. A well rested and energized Badger defense utilized constant pressure to force DG off his timing routes. Wisconsins secondary is strong and coverage was very good. DG had to scramble or adjust often to carve out table scraps on the scoreboard. It helped that the Whisky D (just like the Terps) did not have to account for Tez. To my eyes the Duck offense is more predictable withoit Tez. Yet the Ducks tired and pieced together offense moved the ball, at times with ease. However, a critical red zone mistake and 2 settle for Field Goals, on the first 3 drives absolutely inspired the Wisconsin D. Instead of taking the crowd out of the game with a 21 point lead early, well that crowd was loud and supportive for the entire game. Except when the Badgers had the ball. OBD's Defense played outstanding dominant ball. Their was no doubt that the Game Ball belongs to the Oregon Duck D... Well done........ It was an ugly win for sure but a big time road win. Go Ducks, the dreaded leg lifters are heading to Eugene.......
  22. The Vols, IMHO, have less talent than the Dawgs. However, the Vols are playing better as a team. The Dawgs D simply must play its best game of this season. I expect this will be the case in this game. Victory against the Vols depends on the O Line protecting Beck long enough for the receivers to break open. This group of receivers, including TE is not on the level of the last few years. Tbey need to step up. But Beck needs to make better decisions. Like not throw into triple coverage. Take a sack for darn sake and lead this team. Just like Oregon, the Dawg team can only beat themselves. But our great Dawg forum posters can offer a better perspective. From this fan's view a 3 loss Georgia, Bama or even Ole Miss is better than a second place BIG 12 or ACC team. Hec they are better than their conference champs. ND has no business being in the conversation. As Jon Joseph shares, they have 5 G5 teams on their schedule, weak ACC opponents and a loss to a G6 team. WTH CFP committee? I like Boise State, however they will not beat whoever tbe #5 team is in the opening round! The Broncos played their best game possible against OBD's. The Ducks had O line issues and the D had not found itself, yet. The Ducks had tbeir best 3rd quarter with 2 scores and had taken control of the game. The Ducks committed 2 costly 4 quarter turnovers and Jenty made them pay. Yet the Duck O drove the field, ran out the clock and kicked a FG to win. If thry played again OBD's would win by 17. BSU's G5 schedule will not prepare them for whoever that #5 slot opponent will be. If OBD's and tOSU win out the loser of the BIG CCG the loser most likely will land at the 5 spot. But I am rooting for the Broncos to get tbeir chance and hope they can get a CFP win As long as it is not against OBD's! GO Ducks
  23. Oregon wins 38-3 2 TO 4 SACKS 276 Passing Yards Go Ducks.....
  24. DL's strengths can dominate in college football, especially in recruiting. Coach can't recruit in the NFL. He can't recruit 7 transfer players to immediately fill and fix needs, in one srason. DL has a long, long leash at Oregon to get that first Natty. He has no legend to follow. In the nfl he must win now and win big. The window is narrow, produce or you are looking for a job. The grass is never greener somewhere else, except at Oregon. Where annual 9.5 million dollar extensions exist. Thats some real green. Personally i consider Bama and Georgia HC position better than an NFL bottom feeder job. GO DUCKS....GO DL.....
  25. For this graybeard, i love this kind of boring. I am with all posters who support being #1. How often does #1 happen? Not often, so i am enjoying every moment. This years version is more methodical and less exciting, yet dominant. Go Ducks, bore us to death!
