  1. 60, 11 under, in the final round. Awesome!
  2. Wyndham is tied for second with Scottie Scheffler at -19, two back of leader Si Woo Kim. Kim and Scottie frequently play practice rounds together. The two are paired in the final group with Wyndham in the penultimate group. Clark has putted only 25 times in each of his three rounds played so far in the Byron Nelson tournament in Dallas. Baseball vs the Bruins rules the day, but in between innings, you can watch Clark on CBS as he tries to take down local hero Scottie Scheffler. EssentiallySportsWyndham Clark Suffers Strange Bleeding Scare at $10.3M PG...Competing for a place at the top of the leaderboard, Wyndham Clark suffers a strange bleeding incident at TPC Craig Ranch.
  3. I more than understand your POV. If you liked bowl games tied to teams from a given region, I think you will enjoy 16 games played on campus, which is part of the Big Ten's proposal. It is a 24-team PO, but the 1st round is a play-in round for teams seeded 9 through 24. Tony Petitti believes the regular season will be enhanced by teams battling to make the field, secure favorable seeds, and have a reasonable bye period for the top 8 teams. I agree. I see nothing wrong with Fox, CBS, NBC, and others joining the PO broadcast bidding. I see a lot wrong with ESPN employees dumping on PO expansion to keep their employer's PO broadcast exclusivity and to maintain the value of its bowl inventory. Whining about conference champ games going away is a red herring, and as many coaches have expressed, with more than a 4-team PO field, who wants to add a 13th game to what is a long enough season? I'm calling horse hockey on Mario wanting to play conference champ games. Miami, in 20 seasons in the ACC, has played in one conference champ game and lost. Would Mario have preferred to have played 17 instead of 16 games last season? Thanks for the comment.
  4. Another prediction for OBD to win it all in 2026-27 - Post-spring power programs: Take these 5 teams for the national title
  5. SMH! 24-team PO hitmen make a big deal out of UGA's president opposing the move to 24. Did the prez check in with his ball coach Kirby Smart? Kirby has said that 16 or 24 would both be fine with him. Tennessee's Josh Heupel wants a 24-team field. Tony P: Hold Fast!
  6. Sark, making friends throughout Dixie. (But he's spot on in noting that the Red Raiders 2026 schedule is a jest.) On3Texas Tech GM takes shot at Texas, Steve Sarkisian after...Texas Tech's general manager has now called out Steve Sarkisian after Thursday's comments, saying "excuses" are coming from Austin.
  7. I wonder if they are serving grits with the whine? You B1G bullies! Tony P played the long game to perfection; he was not concerned with sticks and stones. Tony will soon join Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, who was laughed at for thinking that a network devoted to one conference's athletics would be successful. The complaints about going to 24 are biased, facile, and ignore the reality that college sports, especially CFB and CBB, today are a big business, and the majority of athletic departments are bleeding red ink. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2026/05/22/college-football-playoff-24-teams-16-format-big-ten-sec/90142016007/?utm_source=usatoday-sports-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=usatbaseline&utm_term=Content%20L
  8. The SEC is fractured up. 😁Too bad, so sad. 😍 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/a-fractured-sec-looking-for-consensus-on-cfp-expansion-as-big-ten-draws-clear-line-at-24-team-model/ar-AA23Lcjw?ocid=msedgdhphdr&cvid=6a0f884b4d7447b3980fb1d8335ef264&cvpid
  9. OK, a 24-team PO is terrible because it's disrespectful to CFB Tradition! On the doorstep of obtaining octogenarian status, I'm all in favor of CFB returning to its traditional roots. (BTW, the income from a 24-team PO field will exceed the income generated by conference champ games, and CFB will be watched by more fans than in the history of the game. Flex schedule and play a champ game in the final week of the regular season. DUH.) The Big Ten, Pac-8, Big 8, and ACC conferences do not expand. / CFB plays a ten-game regular season with games played in the daylight. / No star rankings of high school athletes and recruiting classes. / A portal is something you pass through on the way to class. / The NCAA controls game inventory with one game a week, and occasionally, two games available for viewing on network TV. / No conference networks, no cable, and no coverage of CFB during the week except in your newspaper's Sports Section. (Results of games played on the West Coast are published on Monday.) / A return to carrying the winning coach off the field on the players' shoulders instead of drowning him in Gatorade. / Football is played on stuff called 'grass,' not turf. / No fines for tearing the goal posts down. Five bowl games with the Pac-8 champ matching up with the Big Ten champ in Pasadena on 1/1, but no back-to-back Big Ten teams appearances. Mom and Dad are thrilled with their son receiving free books, room and board, and free tuition, and if the coach is tough on Johnnie, that's OK.
  10. ESPN did it. Why not CBS with its 100 days out takes - https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-2026-storylines-predictions-100-days-out/
  11. Thanks again, Steven. A few responses to ESPN's century of preseason takes. UNC vs. TCU in Dublin. I hope Miss Hudson has an adult accompanying her on the flights to and from. Irish Eyes are supposed to show up and pay to watch this? I'm not sure there's enough Guinness in the Emerald Isle for this to happen. UNLV wins both games vs. American Conference competition, wins the Mountain West, and takes the G6 PO spot from a Pac-12 team from some State out west. Ohio State, Michigan, and the Golden Gophers sweep the SEC. UGA, again, wins the SEC. Golden Archie and Sark lose home games against Ohio State and the Ole Miss Basket Weavers, and on the road at A+M, but still find a spot in the Mayo Bowl. 11/7 - OBD bags Brutus, and Baby J and TD J both lose in South Bent. Luke Fickell - How do you 'boldly hire' someone? Show up at the office, Full Monty-style? Florida - Can only go up because of Buster and Play Dough, er, Philo? Is Noah Fifita close to earning his MD degree? Sam Leavitt - Nice work two years ago with Skattebo at your back. Did Kiffin make a Lame hire? LSU - Bye or PO bye-bye? Chambliss 'should' be back under center? If not, Judge Roy Bean will injunct Pete Golding. Archie - From fish filet in 2025 to Golden Big Mac in 2026? Jared Curtis - From the Nashville high school little leagues to first-year stud at Vandy? Notre Dame's schedule is easier than Ohio State's? No 💩! Indiana OOC - Home cookin' vs. No. Texas, Howie, and Kentucky, er, Western Kentucky. OBD OOC - G6 favorite Boise State, on the road vs. QBR No. 4-ranked and FBS 2025 passing leader Drew Mestermaker, and then ... Portland State? Brilliant! OBD - Ring in New Year's on 1/25/27 in Vegas with a Natty? Yes, please.😍
  12. Well, the sale is happening West of Oklahoma, and the folks in Bristol are otherwise occupied with denying bogus claims of broadcast bias and making certain no one is watching reruns of Reefer Sutherland in '24.' Man, that's a perfect lead-in photo for a story discussing Week Zero.😁
  13. What do Big Ten coaches think about their conference opponents? Warning: Even though the responses were anonymous, this is a puff piece. Unfortunately, the Penn State AD refused to comment on anything and everything having to do with Oregon. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/big-ten-coaches-talk-anonymously-about-conference-foes-for-2026
  14. Thanks, Steven. Wow! Heck of a threat there, Jamie. I guess my dream of the Big Ten merging into the B12 and annual trips to Ames, Lubbock, and Waco isn't going to happen. 🤪 Jamie's a bit off on the number of teams in the Power 2 conferences; it's not 20 teams, Sir, it's 38. In what sport is 38 teams not enough? Man, I feel sorry for the NFL with its measly 32 teams. I may be mistaken, but I believe the B12 has 16 teams, no? If the B1G and the SEC split, if they're so inclined, do you think a few teams from your conference wouldn't accept an invitation to join 'The Show' and play ball in the major leagues and not the minors? I can hear Cody Campbell loud and clear: Thanks for the invite, but at Texas Tech, we really like where we're at, playing in front of fewer fans for less money. Jamie, 24 of your Cyclones spun out of Ames and the B12 and into Penn State. Why? They want to play on a B1Gger stage in a place where they will be watched by millions more fans while playing for more money. How stupid are they, right? Hell hath no fury like an AD scorned.
  15. Commit and take visits to other schools, you're dropped by SC. Good or bad policy? https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/trojans/recruiting/2026/05/20/eli-woodard-decommits-usc-football-linked-miami/90172920007/?utm_source=smg-trojanswire-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SMGbaselin
  16. And on the issue of access, Tony P is spot on. In the last two postseasons, five SEC teams that should have been in the PO field, per Greg Sankey, lost to Big Ten teams with equal or worse regular-season records. BTW, Tony P didn't make a B1G deal over quality teams being PO passed over. CFB does not have enough data points for a group of people to use anything but the 'eye test' when it comes to, say, a 2-loss BYU vs. a 3-loss Bama. Was anyone surprised that under the same scenario, a loss in the conference champ game, that Bama was forgiven, while BYU was kicked to the curb? Team No. 25 and its fans will whine, but, as in the CBB tournament, the last team out will not win a title. And, of course, the selection process is influenced by a broadcast company running a bowl extravaganza and not a playoff. On3Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti claims 16-team College...Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti claims the 16-team College Football Playoff does not provide enough access.
  17. I will stand my ground, and I won't back down! Hey Sankey, stop being Petty, tell ESPN to 🤬and go for 24 - https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2026/05/20/big-ten-24-team-cfp-expansion-sec/90172689007/?utm_source=usatoday-sports-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=usatbaseline&utm_term

  19. Joel Klatt's thoughts on where his 12 top-ranked teams need to improve, including Michigan, SC, Indiana, Ohio State, and No. 1 Oregon. When it comes to OBD, Joel earns a DUH. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/college-football/2026-college-football-preview-biggest-question-facing-top-teams
  20. Will the Power 2 conferences break away? From a thousand miles away, it was clear the House settlement would resolve nothing, so why was it approved? There were other remedies available than a senseless settlement that, in large part, turned the future of CFB over to the two lead attorneys for the plaintiffs. As to the attorneys who advised their clients that the terms of the settlement were enforceable and that CFB would have a salary cap? They probably have never passed by a bar, and how in Hades did they pass a bar exam? https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/with-potential-split-from-csc-on-the-table-college-sports-leaders-struggling-to-find-solutions-to-money-problems--the-big-ten-and-sec-should-break-away-and-do-their-own-deal-144449817.html
  21. Sustainable CFB spending. It depends on how deep a program's pockets are. NFL billionaires do everything they can so that Jacksonville can compete with the New York Giants. CFB billionaires simply want to buy a title, even if it means stealing a QB from a conference member. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/48810760/college-sports-big-budget-spending-sustainable

  23. How long are SEC ADs and coaches going to allow Sankey to front for ESPN instead of conference programs? Love it! Just a couple of years back, Sankey was CFB's savior, and Tony Petitti was a moron. Today?
  24. The tables turned, and it's the coach's time to cry. Because I used to love CFB but ... This 💩 is out of control. Someone or some entity needs to lead, with reasonable and enforceable rules and regulations in place. Imagine the NFL with unregulated free agency and no salary cap? An NFL where a local state court judge and fan of Team X could overturn any and every decision NFL HQ made, according to agreed-upon rules, to keep Team X in line? Don't bother because there would be no NFL. Is it any surprise that in the CFB world, dozens of programs supported the House settlement, programs that had no intention of conforming with the general terms and conditions of the settlement? I love this game, and I do not want to see a G8 and NFL Lite.
