The dawgs games are actually the weakest part of a few teams schedule. No longer are the dawgs feared or revered. A day to remember September 4, 2021 at the mistake on the lake, Montana 13-7! Pick the dawgs as a contender or lurking at your own risk.

Interesting from the outright favorite in past, to now the dark horse favorite. The dawgs will always be the favorite to some, I suppose. As far as Utah and WSU I think this year will be different because they won't have that underdog hanging on them. When everyone says you can't there is a fire within a team we saw with Utah and WSU last season. You can't, at least I hope they can't, recreate what happened last year with Utah. That type of inspiration only comes around every so often, and it won't be there this year. As far as WSU they also no longer have the disarray they turned into a ray of focus few teams had. They now have a coach who has to recreate the same magic, which won't be easy. If he does then WSU has, once again, made a head coach, and he won't be there long. As far as the south UCLA will be interesting and the sc team will be one to watch. Actually few people will go to their games, but the program may be on the rise. The real story will be Oregon winning the National Title. I, once again, pick Oregon to win it all!

If there are unlimited visits, I still have eligibility. I would pay to have a visit like these kids get. Maybe there could be an alumni visitation weekend where alumni pony up for the cost and get to act like 5 star recruits? Anyone else want to sign up?

Agree, he was under the Mario spell, and the Oregon program kept him in place. Fortunately it only took a few hours for the Lanning machine to bring him back out of the portal.

I think it will take a matter of a few plays to see the identity, on the field Lanning wants. We will see downfield explosion plays on offense, and havoc will be created on defense. The problem with the last crew was what was said didn't align with what was done. If Lanning stays true to what he has said, there will be an identity quickly! How smoothly that happens might be the question. I expect some speed bumps, and some work needed between games to tweak the execution we see on the field. That will be on Lanning and the leadership on the field we have, time will tell. I will be surprised if all goes smoothly though.

Riley seems like the perfect fit for sc, could have fit in at the mistake on the lake too. I already don't like the guy. I would say a good rivalry re-escalated

I love this quote, 'He’s done more for the people he worked for than (they) did for him.' This something too often lost with many working out there now. Work harder than the next guy, make sure others benefit from your work and you will thrive. If this attitude is seen on the field and sideline then the Ducks will reach their goal of winning a National Title. I have a feeling this is the outlook Lanning is looking for in his players so, as the saying goes, the future looks very bright!

Seven is a weapon at this level and the next as a Tyreek is used. After seeing Hill sign a $120 million dollar contract Seven would do well to stay out of the backfield, and work on becoming the same type of weapon Hill is. Seven should work on catching the ball and getting open. He has the other skills already. The mistake with DAT was letting him become the everyday RB his senior year. If he had worked harder at becoming a WR he may have had a career more like what we see with Tyreek. Little guys who are quick are an incredible weapon. The jet sweep, quick screen, but he needs to stay out of the backfield. I just hope the staff didn't sell him on being a RB like DAT was promised. I have a feeling this staff knows exactly how to use Seven. The reason he was transferring is he knew the previous staff didn't.

And then the antivenin will be the speedy little guy. I still want to see the lightening quick little guy with magnets for hands! I suppose we have Seven, and keep the Seven's coming!

I still want to see what Cam McCormick can do with a full season of stats. I hope the young man gets his chance this year. He could be our surprise player of the year if he does!

I don't bet on games, especially Oregon games, because I have a way too emotionally take on all things sports. I think Oregon is going to crush every team they play, but know this game especially is full of unknowns. I do hope in the future Oregon will be a team, program you can count on to show up and lay it on the line. That is all I want to see, and if the oblong ball bounces a few too many times the wrong way, then oh well. Just bring it, and play smart game everyone can be proud of.

Pretty entertaining piece of writing. He confirms all the recruiting success Mari'no'O had then has an 'agent try to suggest not having a strong qb is associated with his weakness in recruiting. That is like saying the USA 400 relay team has all kinds of speed, but they always lose the race because they are slow. The relay team loses because they can't hand off the baton, and have no skill other than running fast. Mari'no'O is the same as our sprinters. He has all kinds of skill at recruiting, but can't hand off the job of coaching. He can recruit, but can't do the other little things it takes to win the big race. The USA sprinters, much like Mari'n0'O won't win the big race until they get down the skill it takes to turn raw talent into game day talent. Running real fast and recruiting extremely well look great, and are impressive feats. The problem is there are many other things it takes to win big.

Interesting, "Washington is NOT Headed Down!" You're not headed up, which should be the concern.

Bingo, the complexity of executing a passing attack is multi-faceted, but hinges on the QB. This is where the magic of Dillingham will either be applauded or criticized. There is an expectation, at this point, he will be able to turn Nix and others into what Oregon expects. Right now few expect anything other than flawless execution.

My point was I doubt everything around sc was a deciding factor. It was Riley, money, and it was decided long ago. Caleb Williams spent months in the portal, also never a question where he was going, just negotiations.

I think this is exactly what makes the betting sites nervous. If Lanning gets a dynamic offense clicking it could be a very interesting outcome. If Nix is off, or the team needs time to put it all together then it could get ugly. The number of outcomes would seem to be endless. I just hope the fanbase is understands the betting sites don't put things out there to lose money. I say that not for betting, but so we can revel in an upset or look forward to growth without an expectation of a miracle.

Great article and what I expect to see is a team which takes advantage of weaknesses in the opposing defenses. Instead of an offense limited by our qb, and coach we will see an offense exposing opposing teams mismatches. The previous seasons we were limited by our coach and his penchant for preventing our offense. We also had a limited offensive weapon behind center. Whether it was Shough's panic runs, passes, or AB's limited abilities we couldn't take advantage of what a defense gave us. This will all change this season with a new chef and like any fine restaurant, a great staff. Dillingham sees the whole field and Lanning will let, expect him take advantage of those opportunities. This will be the biggest change in our offense. No longer will there be the occasional unexpected play where our coach is a nervous wreck. What we will see is the occasional unexpected play where our coaches are excited, and dreaming up the next new item to dish out to the crowd. We will also see our weapons on the field knowing they will get the ball if they play hard, and smart. No longer will they be limited to the sideline pass or run up a specific gap. These players will be sent to where the defense has weaknesses. This will be the massive shift in what we will see on the field. The coaching and the player use will be the biggest shift. The coaches will be, like a chef, cooking up what is freshly given them farm to table. Whatever the farm, opposing coach give them we will see served up. No longer will we see the same menu over and over, even when the ingredients have become stale. The players will also become the ingredients and if there becomes an unstoppable weapon it will stay on the menu. If there are limits to what can be created with a player then expect to see him when the course, of action, calls for him. That is the menu I want to see. Who knows what will be on the menu, you just know the chef can create something exciting out of the ingredients he has on the sideline!

The players are making money, choosing the uniforms, maybe they should be asked to come up with the new name. I certainly think as most of our players are African Americans, and many with relatives who were slaves we should respect what they think of the name, Civil War, as the name of the game they are asked to play in. It would be interesting to learn what they think of the name. It could be called the Hazelnut Bowl, and I wouldn't care, as long as we beat the Beavs. It could also be called the Nike Bowl one year, and then the Reser Bowl with the proceeds going to a charity if that make it more palatable. Sell the name, I don't care, but make a decision!
