respectfully, everyone talks about the coaches’ families… from all accounts jessica, rocco, and mario mateo cristobal loved eugene. the taggarts and the moorheads, not so much. that danimal brought his entire family on his first trip to eugene bodes well.

the prob is that we played 9 bad football teams and 3 good ones. we were only 1-3 against the good ones. there was another thread about how the dux “really” did this year. i would posit that the only record that matters is ATS. We were 5-8 ATS. We severely underperformed. What I really want, more than a Natty, is an undefeated record ATS.

yeah—the more i think about it, the easier the question gets… …you don’t get to go if you don’t want to play. injured players still want to play even if they can’t. plan something back home for peeps left behind to keep everyone engaged. make sure the lines of comm are open to the sidelines. …but traveling as a duck is a privilege.

i dunno… as a former athlete, all i ever wanted was one more game w my team. even if it was the consolation game for 6th place. next season was always so far away. as a competitive yet non-pro athlete, i would be pissed that a better player wants to both have and eat the cake. so i am firmly in the camp: you don’t get to go if you don’t want to play. easy.

A+ I, for one, am thrilled we went w a name I had never heard of. (Although I had never heard DL’s name, I was certainly familiar w his work—even better.) We should all want PK and RM to know more about ncaa football coaches than we do. All the names I knew sounded like tired, sloppy seconds, Brady Hokes. MC was absolutely the right HC for the time. The players wanted stability, and RM listened. Now that we have stabilized, we want elite. DL is an elite defensive mind and elite recruiter. He has yet to be mediocre, unlike the rest of the pool. So sign me up…

i agree, but i also trust that uncle phil has a plan.
