  1. I don't see anyone willing to push back against these media giants. They have the deep pockets and control of the narrative. They have the power to destroy the remaining 3 conferences and the NCAA governing body itself. Go along to get along. That seems to be the mindset of these university presidents. They don't seem to have the will or nerve to fight back. As a result, the student athlete will die off. I think the only ones that have the power to stop this madness are the university presidents. But that requires them to get on the same page with conviction that even a gentleman hand shake is binding. Tried that, Not going to happen again.
  2. Thoughtful and well written. Much of what you say is true. I can't help but think... the proud will be brought to heel. USC is stepping out on a ledge. My opinion is they will be crushed under their own pride. Many in their athletic department will suffer because of it. As I said, just one mans opinion. Will Oregon and the Pac respond? That remains to be seen. I don't have a lot of faith in the Pac leadership. I do have faith in Oregon leadership. I posted a rant on here and I believe what I said whole heartedly. New money or not, Oregon is built solid. USC doesn't have the power to bring them down. And their arrogant attempt will be a fail. USC cheated all of college football in the early 2000's. They got crushed for it. They are almost squared up. They turn around and do the entire Pac dirty with secret deals. USC will never win another National Championship.
  3. As far as paying the bills goes, yea, football is all that matters. What is sad is that so many young disadvantaged men and women will lose their opportunity to get a college degree. Sport changes the trajectory of so many lives. Some student athletes pull themselves out of generational poverty and create generational wealth. Generational change that started with an athletic scholarship. These opportunities will be lost. Why? Greed and Power. Shame!
  4. I saw some of the feed you are referring to. Looked like they were confusing UT with UU. I saw a lot of fear that they are getting blown out just as they were starting to see some success. In Blues they call that "paying your dues ". Can't really blame them. The LA schools and media heads did the rest of us dirty. Utes will be fine. Ducks will excel.
  5. I think the UCLA insert was a typo. Assume meant Oregon but I could be wrong.

  7. The ACC doesn't seem to be rolling over, they are fighting back. It would be nice to see the Pac ?# do the same. Strong men and bold actions.
  8. That is ambitious. The challenges and obstacles are enormous. I like it!
  9. I assume most student athletes in football will have this thought. Who is going to get them closer to their goals? The League is still not a guarantee for any 4* and 5* kid. Player development and teachers matter. Be careful who your teachers are. This Oregon staff is loaded. Many of them boast a resume of player development. They are also developers of men. The culture at Oregon values upright men. Conference alignment will be what it will be. Lanning's values will never change. Dudes real and that is what will shine in living rooms. That is what will turn families on to the UofO.
  10. The arrogance. How can a athletic department be so out of touch. USC has brought nothing to the table as far as elevating the quality of competition in Pac 12 football. The B?G will regret incorporating USC into the fold. Good riddance.
  11. Selfless acts and service to others. A standard few understand and less try and live by. Well done Charles. Keep up the good work, you never know who is watching.
  12. Lincoln Riley releases statement on USC, UCLA move to Big Ten - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Lincoln Riley made his first public comments on USC deciding to leave the Pac-12 for the Big Ten, and he's more...
  13. A greater value imo. With further success that value increases.
  14. USC and UCLA will never be welcomed back. If this falls through before 24, perhaps the Pac stays intact. The LA schools will be the most hated schools in the conference. They would take a beating for years to come.
  15. I am exhausted! I stopped watching the NFL years ago when the money got ridiculous. Players became premadonnas. Arrogance and cocky became the norm. Except for a few games here and there (Harrington, Mariota, Herbert) I can't tell you much about the NFL. Most of my knowledge comes from places like OBDF. That's what makes me so angry about all of this. NIL threw the door wide open for this total corporate takeover of college football. Makes me sick! It's why we can't have nice "stuff" in America. Darn near got a Rolls-Royce in the garage. Some greedy little prrr....dudes come along and steal the hood ornament. Ducks worked hard for the Rolls-Royce. Took what 27 years since The Pick? Took some lumps on the way. Oregons IT factor is a result of getting pressed like iron. It was earned. Oregons achievements are why they only got the hood ornament. What oregon has achieved and maintained for the last 27 years? You can argue that it's a feat only Oregon has accomplished. Ducks are the only school considered a blue blood w/o a trophy case. Some suit in corporate ain't going to stand in the way of a trophy case in Eugene. The athletic department at Oregon is strong. Wherever Ducks land that quest continues on. To many assets in the Oregon camp. I worked my way out of the gutter and am fairly successful with a great life. That's why I am a fan of Oregon. Oregon represents my story in a way. I got to watch Oregon climb out of the proverbial gutter. I am honored. So I say let's build a trophy case come 23'. Then after the LA schools bounce we b2b a second one in 24. Plant the flag at the top, GO DUCKS!!!
  16. If ND joins, that could definitely be how this shakes out. I would hate to lose a favorite pastime of hating the hunch backs of Pungent Sound. If Ducks go the Pups must go with them.
  17. tOSU, Mich, Penn St, ND(?), Wisky and UCLA. That is a steep mountain to climb. Say the Pac and Big 12 combine to make a super conference. Add in SEC (2 spots right there) and the ACC. Then Cinderella shows up to the dance like Cincinnati did last year. Thats Everest. Would Oregon be better off in a Pac/Big 12 super conference. I think it might, not positive, give Oregon a better shot than joining the B?G. Ducks would definitely be the big man on campus over time. Glad I am not the comish or AD at a Pac 12 school. Yikes!
  18. In the Pac12, USC struggled to get to a bowl game. They haven't been competitive in 2 decades. What makes the B?G think USC is a golden ticket. Just a ploy to suck ND into the B?G. After ND joins, the scarlet carpet will be pulled out from under USC. Riley has proven nothing yet. He has 2 years to show USC is the cream of the west coast. Right now, they are not. USC will be Wisconsin 2.0. But that is still better than what they have been able to accomplish in the Pac for years.
  19. Where ever Oregon lands they add a ton of value. Where Pac-12 teams rank on Forbes’ list of most valuable teams DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Like it or not, conference realignment is directly related to team value. So which Pac-12 teams have the highest value in...
  20. That is plausible as well. It's why I called it scuttlebutt. We might never know how it kicked off. USC has always been shady. They are still trying to be resurrected after the Carroll death blow. . You don't really seem like a "roaming the streets" kinda guy, but while you are out there, keep your ear to the pavement and let us know if you hear anymore scuttlebutt.
  21. Word on the street us the LA schools approached the B1G first. Kept it secret till they announced the other day. Word on the street is USC did it to hurt Oregon. Shady!
  22. Mariø performs at the U at the level he performed at Oregon? He will get ran out of town.
  23. Mariø went so visit his sick mother in Miami about the same time. I suspect he had a visit with his brother in law in the hospital Chappell where they had a "come to Jesus" moment.
