  1. BT took care of the ball, but couldn't move the offense. I was happy to see him get the opportunity to start, but he should have been pulled at the half. I would have loved to see Akili Smith get a chance too, but it was great to watch Dylan get the come-back win against his former team. Still scratching my head about the play calling, but thank goodness for this defense. They are giving the team a chance to win.
  2. Watching Georgia against Alabama tonight was like watching another level of football after watching today's Duck game.
  3. Time to re-open the QB competition?
  4. My understanding is that by leaving now the current roster will remain intact, because players can't transfer to a new school right now and expect to play this season, or to maintain or improve their current NIL deals. This gives Stubblefield a chance to be competitive this season, and gives the Ducks a nice long window to find a replacement. Hopefully the can find someone like Lanning, an up and coming coach with great character who can embrace the new dynamics of college basketball. We were lucky to have Dana, he represented the UO well, and I hope his health issues are solved quickly.
  5. When Lanning offers players, supposedly he evaluates not only their athletic ability, but their character as well, and how he thinks they will fit the culture he wants to create. I don't think Riley fits very well with my perception of that culture, and I'd bet Lanning wouldn't either.
  6. I wonder how many, if any teams have won a D1 natty with a QB who started the season as a backup.
  7. Agreed. I felt that way about Akili Smith Jr. as well. (tough kid playing out there playing ball) It looked like he ran the ball two times just to get the feel of contact. I don't know how big he is, but he reminded me a bit of Clydesdale, I mean Cardale Jones!
  8. I don't know if it's a coaching thing, but the players sure looked like they were just "going through the motions" expecting things to work out like practice, and not really playing the game as it came to them, or better yet, forcing their will on Boise and OSU. They looked a lot more motivated against PSU, and I'm sure the coaches influenced that! USC will show a lot about who this team is. One thing about the PSU game, I have great hope for the future after seeing some of the young players waiting for their turn.
  9. Did this game set the record for the most players with "Jr." at the end of their name in an NCAA Championship? Inquiring minds would like to know. (I counted 4)
  10. This team looks a lot different when Etute is not in the game. Good to see Fiso dishing out more assists. Jacobs is the "glue" player. Bell and Long are solid players and the bench is pretty reliable. Etute is a sneaky-good athlete. These ladies are worth watching.
  11. If Dan Lanning has been honest, and I believe he has, Dante will have to earn his position as the starting QB once again. I don't see who would beat him out, but I sure wouldn't have predicted Brock Thomas as the #2, either.
  12. I was impressed with Harris' effort with one foot out the door. A true display of the type of character you hope to have in your teammates.
  13. The performances of some of the freshmen in this game give me hope for the future. I just hope the incoming coordinators can exceed the ones they're replacing.
  14. Went from amber ale to scotch whiskey before the end of the third quarter. This game reminded me of the 80's. But here they are in the semis. That is a huge improvement. I was impressed with the effort from Jay Harris. Indiana looks like a juggernaut, and here's hoping the steamroll Miami like they did Oregon. You can't feel too bad about losing to the #1 team in the country, just wish we could have been a little more competitive. It was a great season for a pretty young team. Congrats, and on to next season.
