  1. I think the offer to MC came after it was already a done deal for Moorhead to Akron. It was a response to Miami speculation. MC stays, he needs sla good OC, and needs to let whoever he is have the reigns
  2. As several mention above, while recruiting is mega, X and O is too. But 3 straight classes of best in Oregon history, and 10 win seasons feel like they are from talent alone. It's MCs ceiling without better player development. I question his whole staff. Bellotti and then Chip (who retained most of the assistants, and Helf too) thrived on developing 3 stars, getting a 4 star was a big deal then. We played for 2 natty's. Scheme was electric. Defenses have figured out the spread now but the big teams have 45 ppg somehow. Physical, yes, but the MC idea of "pound it out is what we do" just doesn't do it
  3. Had the same thought. Ty has only played in 3 I've read? Doesn't burn the redshirt to bowl with Ty. Butterfield same. Abd...do we contact Rattler about winter term in Eugene starting in about 4 weeks? A lot of true freshman QBs going off accross college football...if that rating is legit at the D1 level
  4. Sir Charles, I think the term "turnovers Oregon creates" vs. "take-aways" is confusing. I think most are saying "turnovers" in terms of opponent, but some entries suggest maybe they are thinking "Ducks turnovers" vs. opponents turnovers ("Duck take-away") or maybe I've been sitting in front of my computer too long this week
  5. Ducks Win! 38-24 with 4 take-aways (no turnovers!) 4 sacks, 242 passing yards. Ewetes lose ba-aa-aa-aad!
  6. Not sure, didn't they smoke it all officer?
  7. Hire Cale Gundy, bring in Rattler? 🤣
  8. Talent is great, we need to coach them up. Bellotti and Chip eras, we thrived with only a handful of 4 stars, and a rare 5 star. USC had years there with top recruiting classes year after year and went 5-7. To win it all we need top recruiting, but in-game coaching and player development long term are just as crucial?
  9. Tedford was a QB guru, which is what Lincoln Riley is...but not sure how much the game has changed? Riley has a history of taking either transfers or true freshmen and turning them in to Heismann winners, or contenders
  10. Maybe a new topic, but I'll be curious to see where USuC's recruiting class will be in 3 weeks, right now they have only 7 (?) commits, lost their one 5-star? Will 5-stars at QB, RB, WR, and some high 4's and even 5's on the D, and O-line shoot them up equal to us by signing day? I will be very curious indeed....
  11. MC needs a QB guru now, and better grow as a coach, quick. My couch saw that onside kick coming yesterday, that's poor coaching. We can't close teams out, all year. I hope we beat Utah of course, but recruiting CA just got harder, and what WR wants to go to Oregon? It's good for the Pac, just hope the playoff goes thru the north not the south. That is, if we can not LOSE 1 or 2 gimme games a year.
  12. I'm sitting in Sky Harbour drinking a lot of 4 Peaks IPAs and it's 77 degrees in Phoenix but I'm stuck inside waiting for my flight to Redmond and I can't get the apple cup but I watched a lotta CO/UT on the plane from DFW and CO played UT tougher than us in SLC...what does that mean? We beat CO 52-29 but not the Utes...do we have a chance in Vegas? Oh wait, we gotta beat the semi-floating goof-toothed bark rats tomorrow first. PLEASE DUCKS win tomorrow
  13. 38-34 goof toothed floating bark rodents win...we get 1 take away, 2 sacks, 188 passing yards. Sad to say.
  14. Great take. MC proves you can recruit to EUG. Now he needs to prove he has the chops to coach the kids up. (And hire good assistants, let them coach etc.) Look at Darren's article today, last 6 years recruiting rankings, OR and UT. What does that tell you? Injuries are a thing this year, we are young, but 38-7? Something tells me if he goes to Gainesville or Miami, he'll have recruiting classes approximately twice as good as here (#3 in a given year instead of #6, 5 instead of 10) even in the SEC...but 10-2 would be 7-5 at best in the SEC. Year 3 and he's gone. Or, he solves that maze and coaches better HERE. 13-0 in the Pac with our talent and say, a better luck injury year...should be normal (errrr...without GA in week 1). But, you make the playoffs regularly. Then, you do what OK can't do...win it
  15. We gotta beat the bark rats or WSU probably wins the north!!!
  16. But we were out classed at all 3 levels, 38-7? Did not look prepared. I guess Michigan State knows the feeling. Cristobal's "physical" wasn't there on either side of the ball tonight
  17. We are getting out classes at EVERY LEVEL. OSU gotta be smelling blood. Hello New Mexico Spicy Canned Sardines Bowl
  18. MC has hit his ceiling. Don't tell me it's injuries, this is fully out coached by a great coach. 3x best Pac recruiting class means nothing if you don't coach them up. Could finish 12-2 but bark rats gotta be smelling blood. Get to the Rose and a B1G team will destroy us. Pittman leaving not a good sign. If AB is our best chance to win this year, future not so bright. ABs 2 yard throws, and under thrown and over thrown 1st downs is pathetic, sorry. Delay if game again? Just not prepared. MC will not bring us a natty
  19. Ducks win 38-28, 3 take aways, 5 sacks, 174 passing yards
  20. I don't think it matters, if we win out, we are in. We lose one, we are playing for the Rose Bowl and likely have to beat Utah in Vegas, lose that either way, and it's Alamo or Holiday at best, even if we are 11-2. Beating Utah twice won't be easy but the run game, D, much fewer penalties...despite injuries we are starting to peak at the right time. Can't wait for next year, but this year is not done yet...just hope we don't need AB to make many throws down the field, but I sure hope he can find some 10-12 yard completions instead of 1-2 yards when it's 3rd and 9...
  21. Don't blame him for going for the points, they should have been flagged for 15 though because of the fans on the field...
  22. Thought I read last summer Ashford is going to drop baseball and focus on football?
  23. I hope the WR's are seeing promise in either Ty, Robbie, or Jay during practice. If AB was the QB of the future, I think more than 2 WR's would bolt! I hope the passing side of the RPO will be prolific next year whoever is the QB. A strong rushing attack is always foundational, and AB had a couple nice throws down the field last night, but how many that were from 0 to 2 yard with a defender draped all over him...on 3rd and long?
