I don't know. I've mentioned that Raiola is a statue in the pocket and has always looked bad against teams that pressure him. If Oregon hopes to win with Raiola, they are going to have to beef up the pass pro on this year's OL.

I am sure this has been mentioned on this forum, but Will Stein has done a ridiculously good job in his first season as mentor of the Kentucky Wildcats. My hat is off to him.

Man, I was absolutely wrung out by the time the clock hit 0.00 in Autzen today. I immediately was cast in to another hand wringing contest in Tuscaloosa that, fortunately and thankfully, turned out better for me. As I have matured (I turned 80 this year), I have slowly learned to take defeat with disappointment rather than bitterness or anger. It is part of becoming a true fan rather than a sour critic. Hang in there Duck fans.

I do feel relieved after obsessing all week about what a second loss in September would do to the Ducks' chances of reaching the CFP, WHEW for now!

Raiola looked great today and many of the commentators on my favorite dawg forum suggested that perhaps he should become the Ducks starter (while acknowledging that Lanning will likely hand the job back to Dante, not willing to "Wally Pipp" him for an injury). I'll be rooting for both guys as the season plays out. But be forwarned that the power B1G teams are quite aware that Dylan is a statue in the pocket and that his efficiency passing goes way down when pressured. So our offensive coaches need, IMO, to work the offensive front hard to improve their pass protection if/when Dylan comes to play a lot.

Agree that this game is hard to pick. Theoretically though, any team that gives up 35 to Rutgers would seem to present a field fay for the Ducks' offense. So Ducks roll.

He could also have run out of the back of the end zone before a Vandy player could have come near him. The mistake so clearly indicates that this player is not being paid for his mental prowess.

As Chambliss shredded the vaunted LSU defense throughout the first half, I thought maybe the boy should start perfecting his Heisman pose. But...as RB Lacy went down and LSU made halftime adjustments, the game tightened and became dicey, for the Rebs. And when they needed him most, Chambliss marched his team all the way down the field in a drive concluding with a16-yard QB bootleg for the game winner. He continually carries the team on his shoulders and is a marvel to watch. Great player!

Stein's team played quite credibly against Bama the week before. He's done a fine job thus far and my hat's off to him.

Not sure that we should be gazing ahead to what we need for the playoffs at this point. And this is a bad point for a cupcake game as this Saturday will tell us very little. We should take every substantive game thereafter as a substantial challenge to demonstrate that we are not the same team that lost in Stillwater. I say substantial challenge because perhaps we are not as talented as everybody seems to think we are. Guys, get the hell out there, grind every week, and begin to demonstrate that you are an aggregation worthy of all the lofty preseason kudos (aka rat poison) the sporting press has bestowed on you. The fan base deserves no less to keep believing in the Green and Gold.

Yeah my best Duck buddy lost the game and knew it was on ESPN News which he didn't get. So I was describing play by play down the stretch via text. . Very sad for he and his wife, and he wasn't always happy with my reports. I certainly wasn't overjoyed with hem myself.

Early is the best time to lose one like today because the film will display the deficiencies that must be corrected. Unfortunately the same holds for Ohio State. I always thought that people were giving Oklahoma far to much credit and I was not surprised that Michigan took them down at home. Congrats CKW.

Damn Jon, exactly what I had planned to post. I guess great minds think alike. I'll also post that the Ducks and my Dawgs overlap timewise AGAIN! This happens more often than it should it seems. Of course, both games overlap with Oklahoma /Michigan as well. Gonna be some channel flippin going on, that's for sure.

The optics on this are just so poor. especially given that Western Michigan pretty much dominated the game and clearly looked to be the better team on this day-and in a hostile environment at that. Hail to the victors...NOT!
