Life must be miserable to be a head football coach in the midwest that can't win big games (e.g., Ryan Day, James Franklin). LOL. I was excited about Oregon potentially signing a TCU DT transfer and then the next post I saw was that Harmon was considering the Ducks....

The B1G Conference was the big winner of conference championship weekend. Putting aside my Duck fandom...that was a really good and entertaining conference championship game featuring the #1 vs. #3 team in college football (with 1 collective loss between them). By comparison, the SEC Championship was a sloppy game, and I couldn't care less about the other conference championship games, unless you are a fan of one of the teams participating. Both Oregon and PSU left no doubt that they belonged in the playoffs last night and are two of the best teams in the land. [And the B1G got the #1 team and conference champion for 1/2 media shares...]

We might see Penn State, again, sooner (in the playoffs).... [That is a very good football team and they should make a run in the playoffs.]

Or are they playing well because Oregon’s defense is not doing their job? I’ve seen Penn State play multiple times this year and they should not be doing this to a “good” defense.

It worked out because we didn’t get the first down. It was poor clock management. No point in saving the timeouts. They don’t carry over to the second half.

Oregon’s defense is overrated. Penn State averages 33 points a game. They have scored 24 in the FIRST HALF against the Ducks. Ohio State held Penn State to 13 points in Happy Valley. PSU only scored 21 against Illinois. We laugh at the low scoring SEC games but Georgia and Texas both have better defenses than Oregon does, IMO. Ohio State probably had the best defense in college football. If those teams can slow Oregon’s offense down (or we have an off night) in the playoffs, anything is possible.

Penn State’s ground game is gashing us and our secondary is giving up passing plays.

And Oregon’s defense is not playing up to their standard. Unfortunately, Penn State is hanging around.

Oregon’s offense has become stagnant. Seems like we went away from what was working early.
