Chargers At Ravens, The Big Game In The NFL Tomorrow
Chargers looked terrible today!

Why Don't we Like Cristoball/ABall?
Exactly! Well made point!

How long will it take recruits to figure it out?
Oregon has tremendous facilities. UO is a FUN place to go to school. Eugene is a great town. Recruits get a chance to play with other great players. Phil Knight! Hayward Field! Lotsa eye-popping things to tempt recruits to want to join UO. Gotta admit, though…….Cristobal’s coaching so far……would not be a plus, for me!

WEEK 7 - WHAT WE LEARNED FRIDAY NITE?
Oregon should be “up here”, but…. 4 games that we’ve struggled in a row: fans are frustrated. Sorta like expecting a Mercedes, and getting a used Vega. Those boos are just disappointment and frustration showing. I would imagine the players feel the same way. Not Dye and Thibodeaux, though!

Thanks, Mr FishDuck!

Cal GameDay Thread: A 2021 Crossroads Game?
Pluses so far: Great 49 yd field goal by Camden! Dye has been awesome! No injuries! AB completed some passes! J Johnson made a great catch! Devon Williams caught some difficult balls from AB! AND….We’re leading at half! Let’s Go Ducks!!

Is Travis Dye an EVERY-DOWN Back to You?
Not an every down back. Too small…..as is Verdell, and look what happened to him, which was inevitable.

Jon Gruden is Out. How Does That Affect Marcus Mariota?
Marcus needs to be traded to a team where he can be the starting QB. He’s making millions while not being subject to injury, but his playing career is passing by. He’s got too much to offer to not play!

Quarterback Quandary: What Would Former Oregon Coaches Do?
He’s done it to me. I’ve seen enough of Cristobal over three years to expect……more of the same: boring, unadventurous, low-quality play and coaching decisions. I’ll record the games and fast-forward through them. Never been so unenthusiastic about our football team in the almost 50 years I’ve been following them. Sure would love it if Cristobal proved me wrong!

Do you "HATE" Stanford?
I don’t hate Stanford. I hate losing a game that was impossible to lose! Again! 🥱🥱🥱!!!

Mario Cristobal Can’t Turn Talent Into Production
Joshua, couldn’t have said it better myself! You are EXACTLY right! And…….isn’t that EXACTLY what a “coach” is supposed to do: “coach” you to the best performance of your abilities? Without question, Cristobal has had AMPLE time and opportunity to show he can coach up the talent on his team. He has only consistently shown that he has not. Example: look what he did with Herbert…..who went on to become NFL Rookie of the Year. Josh, you hit the nail on the head! Well said! Good job! 0

Now Bennet Williams
Nope. Seems to happen every frickin’ year!
-
Ponder Point: Are Oregon’s QB problems systemic?
Prukop. Costa.

Why Wasn't Morehead At The Game?
Kidney stone? Gallstone? Appendectomy? Just guessing. Whatever, it is…..sorry to hear it, and wishing him a speedy recovery!

Cristobal’s Problem? It’s the Oregon Fans!
I would think they’d be pretty pissed off! Hope so——might be a great motivating factor!

Cristobal’s Problem? It’s the Oregon Fans!
Exactly! If I was the parent of a 4 or 5 star football player, other than a lineman……. I would not want him to play for Mario……who has not shown he is an above average football coach. If your kid was a wide receiver…… would you want him to play for Mario….where he gets next to zero chance to expand his game? Not me! I’m happy he does, but I don’t know how Mario gets some of these ball-carrying recruits!

Cristobal’s Problem? It’s the Oregon Fans!
Excellent article, Charles! You describe the atmosphere at this longtime Duckfan’s home exactly right! My wife said after last game—-that the Ducks gave away—-“that’s it! I’m not watching the Ducks anymore!” Same with me. I’ll record the next game, but I’m not gonna waste 3-4 hours of my time on this defective commodity anymore. And, I’ve followed the Ducks since the 70’s. When I see a result like last Sat…….I’ve seen it SO many times!…… I say: “typical Ducks”! We don’t want to continue with “typical Ducks”, anymore! We’ve waited long enough to see what Cristobal’s got. And, as Head coach……all he’s shown….consistently, and, based on last Saturday…..embarrassingly….he does not have “it”. If he worked for me, I’d be looking to replace him. And…..I doubt that that thought has not crossed Mullens mind.

Stanford GameDay Thread: Go Ducks!
I’m tired of waiting for “next year”

This Team has Deep Structural Problems
A-men, O112!
-
SIX and SIX
I concur, Jon. I think we’ve seen enough. I think Cristobal is just a few more underachieving, mismanaged games away from “the Hot Seat”. So far, I would have to say, he has not shown that he has “it”.

Stanford GameDay Thread: Go Ducks!
I’d have to say they’re tied. And, not for anything good, adequate, or competent. MC IS a great recruiter, but…….sheesh! He is certainly no “offensive genius” or “great game manager”. Seems lost when it comes to “crunch time decisions”.

Phil Knight’s NIL company
Looks like Phil Knight is helping recruiting again by creating this NIL project/company: https://sports.yahoo.com/phil-knight-former-nike-execs-183540665.html

We Gotta PASS this Test: The Game-Plan for Stanford?
AB seems decently accurate up to 15-20 yards…..so, maybe the dink-and-dunk can be worked into the game plan with the multiple receiving options: WR’s, TE’s, Redd, rb’s. Gotta say, although AB’s long passing game seems to be overshooting receivers, the receivers don't seem to be getting separation, either. At least the long overthrown bombs are not interceptable! interesting to see: Herbert often seemed to throw “too high” for our receivers to catch. Strangely, those same “too high” throws, are being caught by his NFL receivers(e.g. Keenan Allen), who catch those balls where only the receivers(and not the covering db) can catch the ball. Maybe our receivers might also be a little to blame for the lack of a “long game” so far?

Stanford Game Prediction Contest!
I hate to say it, but: Stanford 28. UO 24. The lack of offensive consistency the last two weeks vs weak opponents makes me feel we’re heading towards a “bottoming out” before cold reality slaps some urgency into our guys. Maybe that’s what it will take…..as Cristobal doesn’t appear to be able to get these guys to play “hair on fire” ready…..based on the past 50% of this year’s games. Was the Ohio State game just “lightning in a bottle”. Or, is lightning going to strike twice(or more)? I’d like nothing more to be proven wrong about my prediction! Just got an uneasy feeling!

Ending or Changing the Targeting Rule?
I gotta say: I like your ideas! They sound like a reasonable improvement…….and include an “element of causation” of “men’s rea”, I.e. intent(showing off my UO education there—-see? I did pay attention sometimes). I like it!
