Monday at 06:13 PM2 days No. I'd say "unbelievable"!But in today's world, not really too surprising. I just hope this isn't really precedent setting.
Monday at 06:34 PM2 days Moderator No. Judge Roy Bean is alive and well. Are you spitting me? Yes, officer, I had too much to drink, and I was swerving and driving 110 mph, but it's not my fault, I'm an alcoholic! You can't send me to jail! I'll go back to AA, I promise.People who had no intention of following the terms and conditions of the House settlement paid hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees instead of seeking another alternative. Why? To keep the mammary glands on the NCAA bull alive. But this just in, the NCAA did punish North Dakota State for tampering.Time for Atlas to shrug? Everyone goes D3. Or, the B1G and the SEC say so long to the NCAA, at least for football and men's basketball. But what makes anyone think that programs that refused to follow NCAA rules would follow Power 2 rules?Texas Tech's Cody Campbell is going to save college football, right? Make it 'fair' for everyone. After ignoring Sorby's contract with Cincinnati and turning a blind eye to a player gambling, gambling on his own team.
Monday at 06:46 PM2 days Moderator No. AMEN!SIBrendan Sorsby Ruling Shows There Are No Rules Left for C...The NCAA’s bylaws are clear, and yet the Texas Tech quarterback’s admitted gambling will not prevent him from playing this fall thanks to a court’s decision.
Monday at 07:45 PM2 days Moderator No. I don't think the rest of the B12 will stiff-arm Texas Tech in 2026, but I understand the sentiment. On3Brendan Sorsby ruling: Big 12 teams reportedly having 'se....

Tuesday at 06:47 PM1 day Moderator No. 13 hours ago, Nevada Dawg said: 23 hours ago, Jon Joseph said: ut what makes anyone think that programs that refused to follow NCAA rules would follow Power 2 rules?I think and hope that a 'commissioner' of a super league could make a ruling, including vacating wins, regarding player eligibility, etc., and the 'aggrieved program' would not hire a lawyer(s) and race to a local, elected judge to stay the ruling.I expect any such ruling would be subject to an appeal to a review board, which could limit third-party judicial intervention. The penalty for litigating after a commissioner's ruling is upheld by a review board should be draconian, including expulsion from the Super League.Cody Campbell is the spokesperson for the Protect Whatever Act? I haven't seen this kind of hypocrisy since Miami AD Paul Dee, whose own house was a raging inferno, called in a 10-alarm fire to hose down a campfire at USC.The Cruz and Cantwell Bill is the Group of 8 vs. the Power 2. Enough of the denial from Sankey and Petitti. Take the next logical step in a business that is form vs. substance amateur in nature and form a Super League, with university leaders ready to call what players being paid are, 'employees', and enter into a CBA with the athletes. Cut no existing B1G and SEC member teams, and do no poaching of any other teams, including the Domers, before existing media agreements with ND and other conferences expire. Then, respond to those seeking Super League membership. If you build it, they will come.Do not attempt to renegotiate with Fox and ESPN before the respective media deals expire. Fulfill existing OOC game agreements and conference champ game agreements. Fulfill 12-team PO obligations until the ESPN broadcast deal expires. Where's the antitrust violation(s)? Yes, the Super League would have strong market power, but not monopoly power. Consolidation by the Power 2 would not terminate existing broadcast agreements with other conferences. The ACC, B12, and the G6 million-dollar media agreements would not be affected. Nothing would prevent the other eight conferences from consolidating as they so decided.Strike now before Cody Campbell, Nick Saban (?), Judge Roy Bean, and the government come to the rescue.

9 hours ago9 hr No. It’s fun watching the moral and ethical gymnastics currently being displayed by Beavis (mostly the fans) concerning their scheduled game with TTech this fall. Funny that a program constantly claiming morale high-ground on…uh, everything…is squaring how it’s okay to proceed full steam ahead.

Funny that a program constantly claiming morale high-ground on…uh, everything…is squaring how it’s okay to proceed full steam ahead. The Nebraska AD, with the support of the school's president, will not schedule Texas Tech in any sport. Georgia has also taken this approach. What if fate has Texas Tech with Sorsby at QB, matching up with Georgia in the CFB playoffs? How about Texas Tech in the same bracket as Nebraska in the CBB tournament?Much closer to home, Texas Tech is scheduled to play a football game against OBD in Austin in 2033. A game with ties to Rob Mullens being on the CFB PO committee with Tech AD Kirby Hocutt. Cancel? Let the dust settle? BTW, the four judges on the appeals court in Texas that will hear the NCAA's appeal of the lower court's decision are all graduates of Texas Tech Law School. And Texas Tech mega-booster Cody Campbell is the poster guy for the Cruz-Cantwell Bill that would prevent the Big Ten and the SEC from expanding and possibly being required to collectively negotiate media deals with the 'Group of 8.' Nothing in the Bill refers to or deals with gambling on sports.Campbell blames the state of CFB for this fiasco, not Texas Tech, of course. The only possible good news is that this decision could lead to a collectively bargained agreement with college athletes. But it's so one-sided in favor of the athletes today that there might have to be a lockout to bring the athletes to the table.
