Major update on the star Oregon QB after a scary moment on Saturday night

Oregon star quarterback Dante Moore suffered a concussion on Saturday against USC, sources tell CBS Sports.

Moore, per sources, is believed to have avoided any further injury outside of the concussion. 

He will go through concussion protocol and there is no immediate timeline for his return.

Moore left the game in the second quarter of Oregon's 41-27 win over USC after suffering a terrifying hit, which led to the ejection of Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens.

The game was stopped for several minutes after Moore's injury. He was carted off the field, put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital.

After the game, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning provided this update on Moore.

"He's in recovery, so I don't want to speak too soon, but he's moving; he has the ability to move," Oregon coach Dan Lanning said after the game. "So, we'll continue to assess him, but I don't want to speak too soon, but he's moving."

Praying for a speedy recovery for Dante!!

Although it's early in the process, I'm definitely feeling some relief for Dante with the updated news we are receiving.

Although Dante suffered a mild traumatic brain injury, which is what a concussion is, clearly, the CT scan showed no visible bleeding or other abnormalitis... or there would have been no way he would have been cleared to fly home with the team. So, this is very encouraging news.

I'm assuming, and hoping, that today in Eugene they are running a MRI brain scan, which will provide more detailed imaging of the brain that a CT does not show... along with them hopefully running Dante through a battery of other tests.

And hopefully, Dante will bounce back soon, but for his long-term sake, I sure hope that they do not rush him, or that he does not rush himself. That's about the last thing a person with a significant concussion needs to have happen.
