15 hours ago15 hr No. The ground can't make you fumble, but it can make you drop a pass. The catch has to survive your contact with the ground.Stupid stupid stupid. He didn't hold the ball long enough and put it away and make a football move before it was knocked out of his hands.Stupid stupid stupid.Ask a ten year old if the receiver caught the ball he'll say yes, he caught the ball, then....This insanity came about because refs can't get it right so they backed off to irrefutable evidence of a catch. If you go 2 frames of replay slow motion without the ball moving relative to the points of control (fingers, hands, pads, body, etc) of the receiver he has control and the catch is complete. This isn't that hard. The current rules are insulting to any athlete that's ever caught a ball. A catch is an event not a freaking process.
2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. I was listening to College Sports Radio on SXM this morning. Dusty Dvoracek mad a good point that since Lofton had the control when his other foot stepped out of bounds then it should have been a dead ball and a TD. His guest who was a rules expert said the ball was moving in his hands, so he never had total control.

11 minutes ago11 min No. From what I can see, there's a legitimate argument that Lofton completed the catch first. I would not describe the replay as indisputable evidence of an incompletion.

Their weak, Independent, no-conference crap is a farce. Then, in addition to their regular season 'Weak-As-Circus-Lemonade' schedule, somehow, in their 12 game schedule they magically only have 4 away games. But, I can't stand Miami and their weak ACC schedule either. I didn't want either team to win.
