I Respect Boise State. I Never Wanna See Them Again.
Exactly! For all of the griping that Notre Dame did last season for being left out of the playoffs, they didn’t have a single win against a team that finished the season ranked in the top 25. Teams need all the ranked wins they can get.

This win against Boise State will likely count as a win against a ranked opponent by season’s end. Looking at Oregon’s schedule, they have only three ranked opponents left on the schedule. Of course, that may change by season’s end. They will want those ranked wins at the end of the season when they’re being measured against other teams for playoff spots.

Why the 9:00 AM PST Start Time vs. Oklahoma State?
You can blame The Mouse. They base everything off of Eastern Time. ESPN is carrying the game so they put it in their 12:00 ET window. Disney merged ESPN and ABC Sport into one division and since ESPN produces sports on ABC they didn’t want it to overlap with Bama/UK at 3:30 ET or Texas/Ohio State at 7:30 ET. They consider the 3:30 and 7:30 windows as their prime slots, so they schedule their best matchups there. They did schedule the A&M game at noon on ABC, so they (and ASU) also get an early start in College Station. I guess they don’t mind the overlap in the noon window because it’s not prime viewing time.

Projecting our Season with Takeaways from our 1st Game.
Mixon is #6 in this video. He was pretty underwhelming.

Apple Cup
Both teams have missed on some good opportunities. Thaw fuskies are kind of in the same boat as Oregon was yesterday. They’re playing a team who is highly motivated to upset them. Frankly, I would rather the fuskies win so that the strength of schedule isn’t weakened.

Apple Cup
The fuskies are dominating the game but can’t finish drives. They seem to be a one-man show with Demond Williams accounting for most of the offense. The goal line stand right before the end of the half was pretty entertaining. I liked the fact that there was some ex-Duck on ex-Duck violence on 4th down with Keith Brown, stuffing Jaden Limar at the goal line.

Time To Believe Your Own Eyes?
In 2014 Ohio State started the season with an unimpressive win over Navy and then lost to an unranked and eventual 7-6 Virginia Tech team. We all know how their season ended.

- Projecting our Season with Takeaways from our 1st Game.
I totally agree with your take on the linebackers. Jackson had five tackles and Mixon had four. Good enough for seventh and eighth for the game. The top six tacklers were DB’s and DL. Don’t even get me started on Mixon’s effort on the Sire Gaines TD after the fumbled punt return. I trust that Dan Lanning reminded him that the armless tackle is a very low percentage defensive play.- The Best Fourth Down Play
Dan Lanning’s best fourth down decisions yesterday was to bring Ettridge in to punt the ball. On two of his three punts, he buried the ball inside the 10 yard line. Both times Boise went three and out and punted the ball back giving Oregon great field position (50 and BSU 44 yard lines). Oregon scored TD’s on the subsequent drives. I believe the win may have been a lot less nerve wracking if DL had made the safe call and made Boise try to drive the length of the field on his defense. We probably would have seen a 14+ point win.- Oregon Outgoing Transfers Find Bigger Roles Elsewhere
I was curious about how much playing time Oregon’s outgoing transfers would earn after leaving the team last season. It seems that most transfers that have left Oregon in the past have ended up buried on another depth. However, this last group has produced quite a few starters and backups. Some players of note are below. Lopa, Perry and Johnson are starting at Cal. Jaden Limar and Jay Harris are backups at Washington and KSU. Terrence Green is starting for Bama and Tionne Gray is a backup for Notre Dame. Sionne Laulea and Jahlil Florence will be staples in the Mizzou defensive backfield. Moga earned the starting job at New Mexico after the original starter was injured. Oregon Ducks On SIOregon Ducks Outgoing Transfers Finally Getting Their Sho...Running back Makhi Hughes arrived in Eugene as the next man up in the Oregon Ducks backfield. As a freshman for Tulane, Hughes posted 1,378 yards on 258 rushes,- WSJ - More Lane Kiffin.............
Lane thrives on drama. He couldn’t stand the comfortable situation he was in at Ole Miss. It’s as if he needs to live his life being constantly on the verge of getting fired, divorced and sued.- What Will YOU Be Looking For in Game 1?
Will Matayo Uiagalelei dominate this season? He had six sacks last year, but 10.5 in 2024. Which Freshman shows his greatness early and gets Duck fans excited for the future? Will Drew Mehringer’s play calling be an upgrade from Stein or is he still the guy he was a Rutgers (15 PPG). Is Huyrich trustworthy or do we have another Alejamden Maldolewis on our hands?- Oregon vs. Boise State....Give Us YOUR Prediction!
Oregon 28-20 1 TO 2 Sacks 267 Passing Yards New coordinators, new O-Line, and a new kicker will be the reason for only 28 points. Boise is always a tough opponent for the Ducks, so that factors into my prediction.- WSJ - Oklahoma State and the 91 Player Rebuild
They will have one advantage against Oregon on September 12th. It will likely be 100+ degrees. They will be much improved over last season, but it will probably take some time to gel. I also don’t think they will be very good defensively. Mestemaker is going to have to score a lot of points. - Projecting our Season with Takeaways from our 1st Game.
