The catch has to survive your contact with the ground.Stupid stupid stupid. He didn't hold the ball long enough and put it away and make a football move before it was knocked out of his hands.Stupid stupid stupid.Ask a ten year old if the receiver caught the ball he'll say yes, he caught the ball, then....This insanity came about because refs can't get it right so they backed off to irrefutable evidence of a catch. If you go 2 frames of replay slow motion without the ball moving relative to the points of control (fingers, hands, pads, body, etc) of the receiver he has control and the catch is complete. This isn't that hard. The current rules are insulting to any athlete that's ever caught a ball. A catch is an event not a freaking process.
6 hours ago6 hr Moderator No. I was listening to College Sports Radio on SXM this morning. Dusty Dvoracek mad a good point that since Lofton had the control when his other foot stepped out of bounds then it should have been a dead ball and a TD. His guest who was a rules expert said the ball was moving in his hands, so he never had total control.

Their weak, Independent, no-conference crap is a farce. Then, in addition to their regular season 'Weak-As-Circus-Lemonade' schedule, somehow, in their 12 game schedule they magically only have 4 away games. But, I can't stand Miami and their weak ACC schedule either. I didn't want either team to win.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Agreed.Catch rules in CFB are lame.As is the replay rule. At some point common sense should prevail.

However, Miami was choice to eliminate ND from playoffs and widen the path for us.Also, I am happy Mari left. Paved the way for Lanning despite the Harrington static. Plus, it was Mari's dream job and allowed him to be near family with health issues. And Mullins was forewarned.
