A bit of history from 2017 https://www.thespectrum.com/story/sports/college/southern-utah/2017/09/02/suu-football-smoky-skies-put-oregon-game-doubt/629448001/ https://archive.ph/362Tm Dates this Fall 2026: Sep. 5 - Boise State - 12:30 Sep. 19 - Portland State - 7:30 During the day, the sun warms the ground, allowing warm air and smoke to rise and disperse. At night, the ground cools rapidly, creating a layer of cold air near the surface that is capped by warmer air above. This acts like a lid, trapping smoke and stagnant air near the ground. Wind speeds generally decrease at night, further preventing smoke from blowing away. Why does the smoke get worse in the morning? Cool air gets trapped near the ground overnight, trapping wildfire smoke close to the surface. That’s why air quality is often at its worst around sunrise before improving later in the day as temperatures warm and the air begins to mix

I have been working above eagle creek, estecada area. Smoke is pretty thick. After 2 days I am hacking up a lung a bit and my eyes have seen better days for sure. Shut down early yesterday due to low humidity. Pretty miserable in the woods right now.

Oregon was picked #2 in the country going into the 2026 season in the first Coaches' Poll. The ranking is warranted and while exciting, it's also terrifying for Duck fans. Lame Kitten best brace himself for his opening SEC game with LSU that serendipitously comes against the girl he dissed, Ole Miss, in the friendly confines of Oxford, Mississippi. September 19, 2026, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on ABC. One sure bet in 2026: Bet on GameDay being in Oxford for this game. I'm not certain what side to take in the Over/Under 25 Louisiana State Troopers accompanying Lane. Kiffin's CFB highwater mark: 2 conference titles at Florida Atlantic. Lane quit twice to take his Dream Job. He was fired by Al Davis and Pat Haden, and benched by Ole Miss and by Saint Nick when he was the OC at Bama, and Lane was off to FAU. $13 million a year for these accomplishments? I'm hoping for another UNC Billy Bob Chapel Hill meltdown hire in Baton Rouge. 🤪 - Air Quality Index Eugene
