  2. Just Win Out! Herbstreit outlines a possible path for the Ducks. Take care of business day by day! Oregon Ducks On SIKirk Herbstreit Says The Quiet Part Out Loud About Oregon...EUGENE - The Oregon Ducks debuted at No. 23 in the first College Football Playoff rankings with three losses, and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is saying the qui

  5. Mummy mode 2.0 I like these. Home runs on the uni 2 weeks in a row.
  6. Moore will miss a minimum of 8 games. Thats double Tua numbers. Maybe he has permanent brain damage. I don't know. Tua missed 2 games after getting hauled off to the hospital. The week before he was injured on a sack they called a back injury, probably concussion tho. This led to huge changes in NFL rules. At this point, Moore is either permanently damaged and the risk of a second concussion is super risky to life time health or he is just scared (understandable). Not sure which. Either way, he should retire from football before he gets himself hurt permanently. I hope he moves on to the draft, he is no longer, imo, a viable option at QB for Oregon. It's odd to me that these decisions to shut it down come in the wake of huge payoffs in NIL. It will be interesting to see if SID (shut it down) becomes a trend after injury for players that come back for one more year. Food for thought.
  7. I get the feeling OBD like wearing black when they face the Buckeyes.
  8. Hmm, Am I a negaduck? I haven't picked the opponent once.
  9. What are you seeing that I’m missing? In my perspective, Davison has looked injured all year. For Moore, there is a small percentage of concussions that linger and it’s entirely possible that is what is happening. I don’t see either Davison or Moore helping their financial futures by not playing. If Moore came back and led the team to victory, especially if the offense hummed with him leading, his draft prospects would improve dramatically ($$$$). For running backs especially, getting a reputation for being constantly injured is a kiss of death.
  10. I fear we are Arthur Fonzarelli waterskiing at this point.
  11. I’m still here. 🤣 Seriously, though. Last week looked promising. I hope we boatrace tosu next week.
  12. I believe the Baseball team will have a higher win percentage than the Mens Basketball team.... Coach Waz
  13. Black and White again...Chrome Helmet looks interesting. (Video only 28 seconds)
  14. Charles, I'm just starting to settle in for basketball season and you post an article about baseball! I love your enthusiasm for all things Ducks! Looking forward to a good bowl game, an improved basketball team from last year's disaster and a competitive baseball team.
  15. Why are these players "deciding" to shut it down for the year. You are getting paid a lot of money to play. So play.
  16. None of this really matters until the week before the playoffs.
  17. That would bring more troubling questions from me about prioritization and NIL cap management… What’s the point of having a $7M+ QB room, if you can’t protect them?
  18. Good points TD. It’s occurred to me on more than one occasion that fans’ passions for their teams can verge on substance abuse when winning ways suddenly go south. I love those warm, feel good Sundays following a Duck victory. The whole day just kind of floats. But, the opposite is true with an unexpected loss - painfully raw nerves. Because of that, I kind of feel for Duck fans who’ve only known the winning. It’s the losing that gives you balance and perspective, and without the lows, there’s no highs.
  19. Thats exactly what I think. The funds were pretty thin once they got to the O line. Not sure why/if they thought the O line was a secondary need. 2nd most important position group on the team.

  21. Fact is we're fans. We aren't on the field, playing. Or coaching. And we probably got used to seeing the Ducks win. Seeing them lose as they have recently has triggered a lot of emotion. But there's little chance any of us will be putting on a uniform and showing everyone how an offensive lineman should operate. Those days are over for most of us. None of us will be climbing in the box calling plays, either. The only outlet fans have is talk. Talk IS our game. And shouting at the tv accomplishes very little other than sending the rest of the family into hiding. The great thing about this forum is that we can do all our talking—not shouting—among people with the same interest, the same loyalty. That's a lot better than doing it in the local bar or at work ... where we might run into SUC or SUCKeye fans. Fights have been known to break out in those situations. In a way, Charles has afforded us a safe space. And those of us who aren't coaches can get a pretty decent football education just by listening.
  22. Maybe not. Renewing all the young players, the players headed to the NFL who stayed, and the new players from a highly ranked recruiting class may have left them short of NIL money. We cannot draw an accurate conclusion on their evaluation of the OL based on the scant facts we have, IMHO. We weren't there.... But bottom line--I agree with you that they gambled and lost on the offensive line.
  23. Perhaps they are waiting to see which team shows up next week, the week after that, etc.? The team that showed up against USC or UCLA? The team from the first half or the second half of the Northwestern game? I gave props to the players for not giving up at the end of the Northwestern game thread. The interim OC also deserves props, based on post game analysis, it seems like he reduced the progressions that Riola had to make and let him rip it. Anyway people want to slice it, this is a lost season and it started with the hiring of the OC and evaluation of the OL room. I’m watching to see how the team improves and which young players step up.
  24. It's back to being a beauty contest if you find yourself on the bubble. We put ourselves in this situation, so can't complain.
  25. Thank you Charles, it's nice to have a place of respite from the "real" world. Go Ducks!
  26. But doesn’t the job of picking apart a loss involve both negative AND constructive views? If it doesn’t, it seems to me there is no interest in finding solutions, but only blaming. It’s true that winning only teaches you two things: that you’re doing something right and you like it. Losing teaches you everything else, but you have to want to learn from it, not just vent.
  27. The PO committee's top 12 includes a team from the Power 4. G6 No. 25, Boise State, would take Ohio State's place in the PO field. Below is an SP+ ranking of the Top 12 and Boise, and a list of SP+ Top 40 teams remaining to be played. SP+ No. 1 - Georgia - at Ole Miss, Missouri, and at South Carolina. No. 2 - Ohio State - Oregon, Northwestern, at Nebraska, and Michigan. The SEC has 10 teams ranked by the committee, but only Ohio State has four Top-40 SP+ on the schedule. No. 3 - Notre Dame - Miami and SMU. If No. 11 PO committee-ranked Notre Dame loses at home this Saturday, it could be out of the playoff. Notre Dame's best win came in the opening game against 5-3 Wisconsin. Perhaps ND should have opened against USC instead of playing BYU in Provo. No. 4 - LSU - Alabama, Texas, at Tennessee. Three tough games before the final game of the season at Arkansas. No. 5 - Miami - at Notre Dame, Duke. Miami's best win was at No. 16 Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are also ranked No. 16 by SP+. Miami's defense was lit up by FSU's Ashton Daniels and UNC's Billy Edwards. Miami is the PO committee's No. 1 team based mostly on the Eye Test. No. 6 - Indiana - USC, at UW. No team deserves a week off more than Indiana. Nine games played before the chance to rest and heal in Week 10. No. 7 - Texas - at Missouri, at LSU, at Texas A&M. No. 8 - Alabama - at LSU. Win in Baton Rouge on Saturday, and PO committee No. 5 Alabama should finish in the committee's top 4 with a 1st -round bye. With a loss at LSU and remaining games at Vanderbilt, vs. Chattanooga (Choo-Choo!), and Auburn, a 9-3 Bama, except for the fact that the committee has a love affair with the Tide, could miss the 2026 PO. Bama's out-of-conference win over 3-5 FSU should not move the PO committee's rankings needle. But again, it's Alabama. No. 9 - Utah - BYU, at Arizona. Should be one heck of a Holy War this Saturday. The game kicks off at 10 AM local. FYI, PO committee ranked No. 3 Utah has played the 83rd most 'difficult' schedule in CFB; there are 68 Power 4 teams. No. 10 - Texas Tech - at Oklahoma State, at Baylor. Texas Tech has played college football's 68th strength-of-schedule. Why are the Red Raiders ranked 13th by the PO committee? Because of a two-point win over No. 17 Houston in Lubbock? No. 11 - Tennessee - Kentucky, at Texas A&M, LSU. I expect Lane Kiffin will receive a warm welcome. No. 12 - Oregon - at Ohio State, Michigan, UW. I'm keepin' the faith! No. 31 - Boise State - None.
  28. After football season....I will start a thread about portal players joining us. We LOST a ton of great players to MLB, graduation, and the portal, but we added a ton as I believe Coach Waz is throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks...especially with pitching. I will say that as bad as our Baseball NIL money available is, apparently USC's is worse. We got a decent transfer pitcher from them, and a .300 hitter from them! A whole bunch of other transfers, especially pitchers to watch and follow later. Our new pitching coach has quite the reputation, so Oregon got quite a few pitchers join us! Ducks have a big tournament in February with Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Baylor--should be fun. Will Sanford is BACK!
