  1. My only gripe is that we should never play in botulism burrito stadium.
  2. It is possible that those who took lots of NIL money from Oregon recently, and didn't deliver to the market value, are spinning a narrative as damage control on the way out the door. Unnamed internal sources who corroborate the narrative sounds like thin soup to me.
  3. At the core of his contention is the idea that our schedule is brutal. It is. I am more optimistic than he is about our chances, but 2 losses is not hard to envision.
  4. Thanks, Charles....still hope to connect with you at a tailgate one day! GO DUCKS!
  5. In addition to your list: LBers: has Devon Jackson figured things out? Can Platt & Williams contribute meaningful snaps? Nickel: who flashes promise? Jett Washington: can he be special from Day 1 as I hope he can be?
  6. This is so smart....the same logic needs to be applied to any future Autzen/Moshofsky work. That is to say, striving to maximize the revenue per attendee at every event. This is the wisest growth model in my opinion, as opposed to just higher capacity. The move to the B1G conference especially makes this strategy the most efficient driver of future cash flows.
  7. On a podcast from TOS it was speculated that Crepea was moved because Coach Dan complained about his journalistic style to an editor at O-Live. No evidence was proffered, only supposition.....yet, it seems highly plausible to me.
  8. I have been watching the YouTube version of the Duck's press conferences during Spring Football. I have been curious about the new coaching staff members and must say that I have been impressed with them to a man. What they may lack in experience in their new positions, they seem to make up for in terms of charisma, culture and connection with the athletes. I fear in-game efficiency and composure as the unit blends but am pleasantly pleased with the intellect and passion of them all. Also notable in these videos is the absence of James Crepea. Previously, Aaron Fentress struck me as the most odious of the O-Live NegaDuck Journos. But James Crepea quickly eclipsed even Fentress when he showed up. I read (I think--at my age, it's possible I dreamt this) somewhere the the AD expressed displeasure with Crepea and he was shifted to the Beaver's Beat which, if true, seems a little too "on the nose." His need to demonstrate his gridiron acumen, in the form of a press conference question, was tedious and I don't miss him.
  9. The NBA has a way of choosing the worst branch at each point in the strategic decision tree.
  10. At some level there is a logic here. Evans and Shelstad were going to require NIL increases, and yet were not enough to get to the Tourney next year. Plus, we wouldn't have had any NIL budget to speak of after paying those two with raises. And, let's be honest, neither of them are NBA draft locks at this point. Now, go all in with the full NIL budget on a handful of smart veterans who are coachable and will play with some passion and team buy-in. They probably won't make the tourney either but at least they will be more fun to root for than this year's team.
  11. My thoughts: The Kardiak Kids for a different reason
