  2. First time I ever picked the opponent. I'll just do that every game 😉🤞
  3. Great take, KK. I was not happy to see 2-loss NW at 26, but happy to see 3-loss OBD at 27. And I was not happy to see 2-loss Ohio State ranked No. 11 and not happy to see 2-loss SC ranked No. 18, but I was happy to see this considering next week's game in Columbus. Week 10 is loaded with great matchups. If ten SEC teams are in the committee's top 25, DUCK! Using the AP Poll, nine SEC teams, 56.25% of the conference, would be in a 24-team PO field; five Big Ten teams.
  4. How can a team be ranked higher than a team they lost to?! Do head-to-head matchups only matter in the playoffs? Why do we bother to play the games each week?!

  6. Honestly where would you even rank the Ducks? Are they the horrible team just begging to lose to Illinois? Are they the team that lit up USC? Are they the team that made Northwestern look bad? Are they the team that looked bad against Northwestern?

  9. OK, a couple of thoughts: No. 18 USC 6-2 is ranked behind five 2-loss SEC teams, behind 2-loss Houston, and 2-loss No. 11 Ohio State, which the Trojans defeated 30-18. 5-3 South Carolina No. 23 and 5-3 Florida No. 25 are ranked. 2-loss Northwestern and 2-loss SMU lost competitive games on the road and are not ranked. Ten SEC teams are ranked. 10! In-conference losses are minimized, and in-conference wins are magnified. Will the PO Committee follow suit? No. 18 and No. 21 Iowa return to the top 25, which they should have not have left. Northwestern, with competitive road losses at No. 6 Indiana and No. 27 Oregon, drops out of the Poll in favor of two 3-loss SEC teams? 🤬🤬🤬
  10. Others Receiving Votes: Northwestern No. 26; Oregon No. 27. Of course, two 3-loss SEC teams, Florida and South Carolina, are ranked. After a bad showing against UNC, Miami remains AP No. 1. I predict the PO Committee will rank Georgia No. 1. Of note yesterday. In the last minute of regulation time, the Minnesota kicker and the Indiana kicker both made 60-yard FGs to send the game into OT. Another close-call win for the Hoosiers with an invigorated USC coming to town on 11/14. 11. When you think about it, it may have been exactly that! For some reason, I was thinking about the Danny O'Neal led Rose Bowl team thatlost their starting QB to a finger infection... NOBODY expected the untouted second stringer to succeed, yet Tony Graziani proved to be the answer. That team played in the Rose Bowl with 9 wins.
  12. It probably didn't hurt that Oregon had only (1) 5 yard penalty vs NW, compared to a season average of 6+, for 54 yards per game.
  13. Mayhap the Ducks can be firing on all cylinders next week... I'm fairly positive noone will be actually fired, today!
  14. I am not often this pleased to be proven wrong... Amazing how many people I know jumped right back on the bandwagon after suggesting Lanning's tenure has run it's course! Proud to be one of the groupwho sees things from the view point of the early Autzen years. It's worth looking back to honor those who had the vision and foresight, lo these many seasons ago, to begin building this palace we call home!
  15. Ohio State opens as a 6-pt favorite over visiting Ducks. The line has moved to 9-1/2.
  16. I believe that is a fair assessment. Below are examples of throwing a receiver open. It is difficult to execute because it requires precision, timing, trust and training (LOTS of training). But this is what it looks like when executed well. https://youtu.be/OHuSOwHA-9Y Here is another example... https://youtu.be/0wDRelNH8kw And here is one that is difficult to execute but displays why timing of the throw matters... https://youtu.be/RQqgcTQ44B0 Again, I agree with you. Raiola's strengths are throwing fade routes and he is more confident throwing to wide open receivers. That last pass of his is his hero ball complex. He was feeling it, so he went for it. It was a good example of an ad lib going well.
  17. Oregon opens as two-score underdogs against Ohio State https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/11/01/oregon-football-betting-preview-ohio-state/92549234007/

  19. I don't believe that Raiola's strengths are going through progressions and then finding the check down, if everyone is covered. To me, his strength is airing it out vertically. He is a gun slinger. A more simple offense, like a variation of Steve Spurrior's "fun n' gun" or the modern air raid offense (vs. a west-coast style offense).
  20. An interception, down 6-27 at the half and the season could have gone full Hindenburg. Maybe not as epic as Kenny Wheaton but that could have been a program trajectory changing play.
  21. Congrats to Mudslide and to the Duck offense for making my prediction way way off!
  22. The "GO" on the glove is epic. Great photo! It also makes me love these uni's. I wasn't sure about them but I now love them. Oh how winning makes everything a little sweeter
  23. I think his huge buy-out contract does not require him to seek another job. If so, I could see him just living off the $75M for the rest of his life.
  24. As we know, the score was 34-26 Ducks, and the closest to that was Mudslide, with a prediction of 38-28, a total of only six points off! What was surprising, yet not surprising with how the season had been going, was how we set a record for the number of predictions for the opponent. Out of 41 entries, we had a stunning 19 of them selecting Northwestern to win. After last week's game...who can blame them? Such an entertaining game and sweet victory....and congrats again to long-time OBD forum member Mudslide, for his winning prediction! Another cool photo that I can't get the forum software to fit....with more time and money spent....maybe I can!
  25. Thank you. This is truly a great article and post game report! The difference in vibe and crowd energy in last two quarters was palpable... Great comeback win.
